‘Sister Wives’ Star Kody Brown Announces His Family Is Moving From Las Vegas To Arizona

“Another one of Kody’s brilliant ideas!”

The Brown Family is leaving Las Vegas!

Kody Brown and his crew of wives and kids announced on Tuesday that they are packing up and leaving Nevada after living in Sin City for nearly eight years. The Sister Wives stars revealed in a statement to TLC that they will be moving to Flagstaff, Arizona.

“As much as we’ve loved making our home and memories here in Las Vegas, we are excited to embark on a new adventure in Flagstaff, Arizona!” the family said. “We are looking forward to cooler temperatures, the mountain air, scenic views and the slower lifestyle of Flagstaff.”

‘Sister Wives’ fans watched as the Browns left their home in Utah due to being investigated over their polygamous lifestyle. (Polygamy is illegal in Utah, and the Browns went on the state’s radar after they went public as a polygamous family on their reality show.) They moved to Las Vegas and, after several seasons of drama, finally moved into a cul-de-sac that had enough housing for Kody, his four wives– MeriJanelle, Christine and Robyn— and their 18 kids.

According to Janelle’s Instagram account, she and a few of her kids spent the 4th of July holiday in Flagstaff, so it’s possible that some of the family has already relocated.

It is not known whether Kody and his four wives will all move into one large house (like they lived in while in Utah) or four separate houses like they reside in in Las Vegas.

“You’ve got another thing comin’ if you think I’m giving up my wetbar!”

Many of the Brown family’s older children no longer live at home, so it’s unluckily that the entire clan will be making the move to Flagstaff. Daughter Mykelti currently lives in Utah with her husband Tony Padron, while daughter Mariah recently announced that she is moving to Chicago with her girlfriend Audrey Kriss. Brown sons Hunter and Garrison are in the military and not living at home anymore, either. Kody and Christine’s son Paedon announced on Instagram last week that he, too, has left home.

Brown daughters Madison and Aspyn are both married, but both were living in Las Vegas as of a few months ago. Eldest Brown child Logan also resides in Las Vegas, so it’s unknown if they all plan to move to Arizona as well.

“Arizona here we come!”

That leaves only 10 Brown children still living with their parents. (We can assume that those 10 will be making the trek to Arizona.)

The Brown family’s move will surely be a topic of discussion on the next season of ‘Sister Wives.’ TLC has confirmed that the show is renewed for another season, despite the show’s declining ratings.

  1. Why Flagstaff?
I thought, they only abruptly uprooted from Lehi, Utah, to Las Vegas seven years ago because they feared prosecution for their heavily documented plural lifestyle and Grody did choose Vegas because he liked to watch the neon lights of the strip from afar. In Arizona, bigamy, or knowingly marrying a person who is legally married to another, is a Class 5 felony…..but then agin, Grody is legally only married to Sobbing-Robin and the other 3 marriages are only spiritual. So I guess, they won’t get any legal troubles, right?
But I get it, the ‘Grody show’ felt a bit short last season because the focus was shifted on weddings and grand children – it must have been bitter for someone attention needy as Grody. Beside that the show was about to be axed and since we’ve seen already too many questionable storylines (i.e. the ridicules “taco marriage”, Maddie giving birth for about a gazillion hours, etc.) just for the sole purpose of keeping the show on air to generate a stable family income, they had to come up with something new that will create some interest for the audience to tune in.
I’ve never been to Flagstaff but I assume, the Brown’s didn’t move there to join a church and live their religion fully open and being part of a real community…….as they had several chances to do so in Vegas but turned all offers down because it has never been about faith but Grody’s ego.

Anyway, since Christine’s house is on the market maybe she moved into Meri’s house until they moved as Meri doesn’t seems to be at home a lot since she’s got her B’n B.

There is an article on azdailysun.com from 5 days ago, saying “Flagstaff has received an influx of celebrity residents this month–23, to be precise….” – unfortunately I’ve got no access to read it because of enforced General Data Protection Regulation as I’m living in Europe.

  2. Lol, funny that they’re moving there right after I moved away. I’m going to miss the opportunity to see all the camera crews around town!

  3. In Jesus’ name I pray
    That Mealy Mouthed Meri
    Gets lost on the way
    And Truely and Solomon
    Have their own show someday!

    Amen

  4. Hmm…none of their Las Vegas homes are even listed for sale at this point. Makes me wonder if some people are planning on staying behind.
If they do sell, they’re looking at making large profits off of the houses. They purchased them for around $450k each back in 2012 and now they’re worth over $800k. Looks like they took out second mortgages on the properties though, so I’m wondering if they were having some financial trouble and needed to cash in on some of that equity.

    1. I just looked and Christine’s is now listed for sale. From the pictures in the listing, it looks like they may have already moved out – there’s nothing on the walls, minimal furniture, very sparse – even more so than you usually see in real estate photos.

      1. You’re right, it looks like it was just listed today, and it does look pretty sparse inside.

I hope only Christine and Robyn move to Flagstaff and Janelle and Meri (finally) get away from creepy Kody.

  5. We can’t catch a break here in AZ. Our southern boarder is under seige. We are being invaded by escaping Californians from the west, & now the freaks of the north.

  6. I feel like all the wives will not be moving. Maybe only 1 or 2. Also there is no way they are going to go back to living in a house together after they have spent so much time in their own houses. Kody better open up his wallet because 4 houses is going to been quit expensive.

  7. Why Flagstaff? But then again, why Las Vegas? It’s not like any of them have real jobs anymore. I think even Janelle had to quit when they moved to LV and I’m not sure she found another job.

I’d be shocked if the wives agree to a joint house. Even when the three original wives lived in the same house, it was like three apartments and they each ran their own households. The only wives that ever really co-parented together and get along at Janelle and Christine.

Also, who would want to buy a house on the Cul-de-Sac of Broken Dreams? They’re going to have a hard time selling. At least Meri’s house has the wet bar

  8. 8 years? Have I been watching this show for 8 years?

How will this work out with Meri’s B&B in Utah?

Could it be that the mortgages became too much for them? (Next question: wich suster wife is going to file for bankruptcy with Kodi this time?)

    Why?

    So many questions.

    1. Good, I feel for ya. We thought about moving to Flagstaff 2 years ago. It was the crime stats and school rankings that changed our minds. Having the Browns there will be a layer of stink that won’t wash off.

      1. ???
I love Flagstaff,,, always going to be home. I don’t live there anymore, but family is there. Everything has changed so much in Flag… I hate the tourist season and now I hate that this family is planning to move there. ?
