See the Results of The Ashley’s “Best of 2018 Reality TV” Survey!

Last week, The Ashley asked you to vote for your favorite (and least favorite) reality TV stars, shows and moments of 2018. We waded through the raunchy, the ridiculous and the reality TV trainwrecks of the year and the results are in!

Before we get to the results, The Ashley would like to thank her readers for another great year for The Roundup! She wishes her readers a very happy New Year! Stay safe and–– as The Ashley always says–– if you’re going make a bad decision tonight, make sure there’s a reality TV camera there to film it!

(Just remember, these results were voted by Roundup readers, and do not necessarily reflect The Ashley’s opinions!)

On to the results!

Biggest Reality TV Trainwreck of 2018:

David Eason (Teen Mom 2)

A ‘Teen Mom’ star has “won” this award every year since The Ashley started doing this survey in 2011, but this year marks the first time a ‘Teen Mom’ dad has claimed the title! Last year, ‘Teen Mom 2’ star Jenelle Evans was named “Biggest Reality TV Trainwreck,” but for 2018, her husband, David Eason snaked it away from her by taking 34 percent of the category’s votes! From his collection of creepy social media videos, to him getting himself kicked off ‘Teen Mom 2,’ David certainly earned this title this year!

Honorable Mention: Ronnie Ortiz-Magro (Jersey Shore Family Vacation)

Biggest Reality TV Villain of 2018:

David Eason (Teen Mom 2)

David also “won” the title of Biggest Reality TV Villain for 2018. Last year’s winner, Farrah Abraham, came in a respectable second place. However, she only got about 1/3 of the votes that David received, so there was no doubt who deserved this title! (Mr. Jenelle Evans received a whopping 54 percent of the votes!) David has made a lot of enemies this year, thanks to his homophobic online rants, his threatening of multiple ‘Teen Mom’ cast members and other creepy antics.

Honorable Mention: Farrah Abraham (Teen Mom OG/ Ex on the Beach)

Most Shocking Reality TV Couple Split of 2018:

Jenni “JWOWW” Farley & Roger Mathews (Jersey Shore Family Vacation)

When Jenni suddenly filed for divorce from her husband Roger back in September, fans were floored, given that the couple showed no indication publicly that they were considering splitting. Although Roger spent the months after Jenni’s filing trying to woo his wife back, a dramatic altercation between the couple earlier this month seemed to cement the fact that these two are never, ever getting back together. Jenni and Roger’s split received 71 percent of the votes for this category, making them the clear “winner.”

Honorable Mention: Kaitlyn Bristowe & Shawn Booth (The Bachelorette)

Show You Were Embarrassed to Admit You Watched in 2017:

Any of the ‘Teen Mom’ shows

‘Teen Mom OG’ and ‘Teen Mom 2’ have been on the air for nearly a decade, but people are still embarrassed to admit that they watch them! The ‘Teen Mom’ shows earned 55 percent of the votes in this category. Make no mistake, though: fans are, indeed, watching these trash-tastic ‘Teen Mom’ shows… but they may be doing it on the down-low!

Honorable Mention: Mama June: From Not to Hot

Most Annoying Reality TV Star of 2018:

Farrah Abraham (Teen Mom OG & Ex on the Beach)

Farrah has managed to take home this award for the last seven years, and, this year, her competition didn’t even come close to beating her. She raked in 77 percent of all the votes in this category! It’s no wonder, though, as her surgically altered mug seemed to pop up everywhere this year: on various shows, at events and in the tabloids. Farrah is also skilled at delivering what are quite possibly the most-annoying social media videos ever made, so it’s no wonder Roundupers bestowed this title on her again.

Honorable Mention: Angela Babicz (Ex on the Beach & The Challenge)

Most Shocking Reality TV Scandal of 2018:

Footage of Tristan Thompson cheating on Khloe Kardashian emerges days before she gives birth (Keeping Up With the Kardashians)

Just over 47 percent of the votes in this category went to the drama surrounding the birth of Khloe and Tristan’s daughter True. Khloe was about to shoot Tristan’s child from her loins when she discovered footage of her man getting frisky with a couple of other women. She decided to bear down (both literally and figuratively) and let Tristan be in the delivery room for the birth of their child, despite the humiliating video circulating through the Interwebs. Tristan and Khloe have obviously worked through their drama, as they are still together.

Honorable Mention: Jenelle Evans calls 911 on husband David Eason for domestic violence, then denies anything happened. (Teen Mom 2)

Favorite New Reality TV Show of 2018?

Jersey Shore Family Vacation (MTV)

‘Jersey Shore’ took the world by storm again in 2018, six years after the hit MTV reality show went off the air. Nearly all of the original cast signed on to star on ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation,’ which took the ‘Shore’ cast to several new locations. Fans loved ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation,’ as it brought the nostalgia of the original ‘Jersey Shore’ show, and combined it with the more-grownup problems the cast is facing now that they’re in their thirties. ‘JSFV’ won by securing an impressive 39 percent of the votes in this category!

Honorable Mention: Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant (MTV)

Most Jaw-Dropping Moment of Reality TV of 2018?

Jenelle Evans pulls a gun out during a road rage incident with her son Jace in the car (Teen Mom 2)

Jenelle was responsible for one of the show’s most shocking moments ever when, during a Season 8B episode, she was shown road raging after a guy who had cut her off. With her son Jace strapped in next to her, Jenelle followed the other driver to his house, and then whipped out her trusty gun, all while Jace sat wide-eyed and frightened. Later, when Jace regaled Jenelle’s mom Barbara with the tale of what happened, Jenelle accused him of lying about her pulling a gun, despite the fact that the incident was captured on cameras set up inside Jenelle’s vehicle. This incident got nearly 70 percent of the votes in this category, making it a runaway win for Jenelle and her firearm(s)!

Honorable Mention:  Arie Luyendyk Jr. dumps fiance Becca Kufrin on-camera to date his runner-up, Lauren Burnham (The Bachelor)

Person Who Needs to Stop Appearing on Reality TV Shows After 2018?

Farrah Abraham (Teen Mom OG/ Ex on the Beach)

This category wasn’t even close, as Farrah received 77 percent of the votes! Farrah was fired from ‘Teen Mom OG’ in 2017 but that didn’t stop her from appearing on ‘Ex On The Beach’— another MTV show– in 2018. Over the last three years, Farrah’s mug has appeared on five reality shows, including appearances on ‘Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars: Family Edition’ and ‘MTV’s Single AF’ last year. She’s also worked the talk show circuit lately, with her most-memorable recent appearance being a ‘Face the Truth’ episode she filmed in September.

Honorable Mention: Johnny Bananas (The Challenge/ 1st Look)

Reality TV Show That Should Retire After 2018?

Counting On (TLC)

‘Counting On’ barely squeaked by with the win this year. It was so close that only eight votes separated the Duggars’ show from the second place finisher, ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians.’ Roundupers said they’d like to see ‘Counting On’ get the ax in 2019, and it’s likely because the show continues to repeat the “courtship, engagement, wedding and baby” pattern over and over again.

Honorable Mention: Keeping Up With the Kardashians (E!)

Overall Favorite Reality TV Show of 2018?

Teen Mom 2

Honorable Mention: Jersey Shore Family Vacation

The longtime MTV reality show has been undefeated in this category since 2011! (This year, ‘Teen Mom 2’ captured 22 percent of the votes.) Fans love watching the antics of Jenelle, Kail, Chelsea, Leah and Briana every week. While ‘Teen Mom OG’ is the original show, it’s little sister, ‘Teen Mom 2’ is certainly the more popular show in the franchise!
