‘Sister Wives’ Stars Christine & Janelle Brown Weigh In On Current State of Kody & Robyn’s Marriage After Episode Hints Their Relationship Is In Trouble

“I’m sure they’re, um, very happy together.”

The current Mrs. Kody Brown won’t be leaving Kody any time soon… at least, according to two former Mrs. Kody Browns.

During a press tour this week, Sister Wives stars Christine and Janelle Brown— who are now both divorced from Kody— discussed the state of the Brown Family patriarch’s only surviving marriage, following Sunday’s episode which showed Kody and Robyn in a heated conversation about the family’s dynamics. (As fans saw, Robyn admitted that she was having a hard time respecting her hair-challenged husband, due to his unwillingness to try to fix his relationships with his estranged children.)

According to Christine and Janelle, though, Kody and Robyn are not in danger of splitting.

“I think they’re fine,” Christine told E! News

Janelle chalked Kody and Robyn’s marriage struggles up to everyday issues.

“I actually feel like that’s probably normal couple relationship dynamics,” she said.

“Usually, whenever we fight, Robyn will do a little breakdance for me and then everything is fine. Darn that, Christine for ruining everything!”

During the currently airing season of ‘Sister Wives,’ Robyn tells the cameras that her marriage to Kody is struggling due to his anger about his other three marriages ending. (In addition to being married to Christine, Robyn and Janelle, Kody was also married to Meri, but that relationship is over as well.)

“We’re probably doing the worst we’ve ever done in our marriage,” Robyn stated in the trailer. “It’s been tough. It’s been tough between us.”

Robyn went on to say that Kody is looking for someone to point the finger at for his other three marriages blowing up.

“He doesn’t know who to blame, himself or one of the other wives,” Robyn says. “Kody’s feeling a lot of rejection.”

In her new interview with E! News, Christine agreed that having three of his four wives leave him is probably weighing heavy on Kody.

“You know that that’s got to be really hard on him,” Christine explained. “It’s, what, three divorces in two years? So, their relationship will probably have some things they have to figure out because it changes the dynamic of who you are as a person. But no, I would imagine [he and Robyn are] fine. I bet they’re going to be great together.”

“Christine, Janelle and Meri just WISH they could be as happy as we are!”

In an interview with Access Hollywood on Wednesday, Janelle stated that she has “no idea” how Kody and Robyn’s marriage is because she doesn’t “really associate with them.” Still, she feels the “challenges” in Robyn and Kody’s marriage are due to all of the big changes Kody has experienced family-wise over the last few years.

Christine— who recently celebrated one year of marriage to her husband David Woolley— told Access Hollywood that, in the Browns’ old church (the Apostolic United Brethren or AUB) losing three wives in two years is unheard of.

“That says a lot right there,” she stated.

“It’s considered a big failure,” Janelle added.

“He’s gone through a lot,” Christine said. “I can’t imagine. He’s probably at an all-time low.”

Also at an all-time low? The thread count on Kody’s hair…

Mykelti Brown— who is one of Kody’s only remaining adult children who speaks to him— recently stated that she highly doubts Robyn and Kody would actually split up.

“I would be so unbelievably surprised if Robyn and Dad were separating,” she said. “So surprised. Honestly, that would be the very last thing I would think would happen, the separation. That’s, like, the very last thing that would ever happen.”

Mykelti admitted that, over the last six months, she has stopped “supporting” Robyn, due to Robyn’s alleged actions at the funeral of Mykelti’s brother, Garrison Brown. Mykelti has not revealed what Robyn did to make her back off from their once-close relationship. It is unknown where Kody’s relationship with Mykelti currently stands.

  1. I could appreciate Robyn telling Kody he has to make the effort with his kids because they need him. Her father abandoned her so she is aware of the pain it causes. He didn’t seem to care AT ALL, except from that standpoint that she was upset about it. Otherwise, he just kept making excuses to cover up that he straight up didn’t GAF. He’d rather have a convenient life without hassles.

I could see them possibly breaking up if he won’t do the right thing by his kids, and if due to her own experience she just can’t stomach it. Another potential issue could be that he lost his religious beliefs. To what degree is unknown, but that could potentially become a big problem if he lost his beliefs completely. Personally, I hope they stay together since they do seem to love each other and they also have two young kids.

If his older kids see last week’s episode, it should show them that Kody’s the one that didn’t and doesn’t care. At least put the blame where it belongs. Robyn may not have done everything right but it’s clear that she would never push a guy to leave his kids behind because she knows how painful it is (I do too). Remember Gabe crying about it last season? I’m sure it was a factor in the path Garrison chose too, although I get the feeling he also had some other problems.

Anyway, I hope he’ll step and at least pretend to care. He’s had plenty of practice doing that, right? But I think he can count Maddie out and maybe a few others. They have the right to make that choice.
