Seeking Sister Wife star Garrick Merrifield was arrested Monday in Chaffee County, Colorado, for domestic violence– a charge stemming from an incident on November 22, according to Starcasm.
Documents obtained by the outlet specify Garrick’s misdemeanor Domestic Violence charge as “Telephone-Obstruct Service,” which occurs when a person “knowingly prevents, obstructs, or delays, by any means whatsoever, the sending, transmission, conveyance, or delivery in this state of any message, communication or report.” (This includes messages sent by telephone, email or other device.)
Garrick bonded out of jail on Tuesday, the same day a mandatory protection order was granted. According to court records obtained by The Ashley, Garrick is next due in court for an in-court appearance on December 2.
While the details of Garrick’s arrest have yet to be revealed, screenshots taken during his court hearing this week that were posted to Facebook show that a Portuguese interpreter was present for the hearing, suggesting that the case involves Garrick’s Brazilian wife Lorrana, whom he married in October 2024.
As The Ashley previously told you, the Merrifields– Garrick, Lorrana and Garrick’s first wife, Dannielle– announced last week that Lorrana and Garrick had welcomed their first child together in July, a daughter named Sarah Mae. (Garrick also shares three children with Dannielle, whom the couple welcomed prior to Lorrana joining the family.)
While Garrick expressed in the announcement posted by the official TLC Instagram account last week that he and his wives planned to welcome more children and more wives to their family.
As of press time, both Garrick and Dannielle appear to have removed all photos of Lorrana from their respective Instagram pages– including the video shared by TLC, in which they are no longer tagged. Only one single promo pic featuring Lorrana remains on Dannielle’s account.

I don’t understand why everyone is automatically assuming she’s the victim. They just got married on the last episode. We haven’t seen her true colors yet. All we’ve seen her do so far is unpack her clothes, get her sex schedule and take a trip to the courthouse. How does anyone have a read on her? I sure don’t! Odds are she’s an opportunist, just like the others, but who knows? We can only wait and see!
My gut feeling is that Garr-ICK is too much of a pussy to be abusive. I’m a big watcher of the ID channel – all the abusers have the same personality traits and it’s nothing like this tearful pathetic clown. All I’ve seen his him being abused, by one skank after the next! And he always goes back for more. He reminds me of Gino as far as being a glutton for punishment. But I like Gino and I don’t like Garrick. He doesn’t have a redeeming quality in my eyes, never has, but that doesn’t make him abusive.
Anyway, the jury is out for me until there’s more info. Should be interesting! LOL.

Gino and Ick don’t really have much in common besides both being gross and liking foreign women. Lots of abusers act like Ick. He is cold calculating and manipulative. Look how he got Danielle’s whole family behind his humping tour of Brazil. Even his stupid faces he makes are an act. His past with women doesn’t really seem to bother him either, as long as gets to bang a new one. Garrick has abused Danielle into a mess of a woman who will put up with anything to keep him, it makes sense there was physical abuse too. And why would they arrest Ick if Lorrana was the abuser? Wouldn’t Danielle have stood up for him? Or the other kids and adults in the house? What happened was Ick finally abused someone who wouldn’t take it.

I still don’t think we know anything except it sounds like he prevented her from making a call. Not sure how much more we’ll find out, but still want to wait and see. I’m staying neutral in the meantime. Doesn’t mean I don’t think Garrick is a POS. There’s no question about that! Just don’t think there’s been any real evidence of him being an abuser. And we still don’t know if she’s just another opportunist. If she is, who knows what she may have pulled. It’s a definite possibility, at least.
Unrulyghoulie, Danielle is a pathetic woman that’s desperately trying to please a complete jackass. She’s also screwed from a legal standpoint by stupidly agreeing to the divorce. That doesn’t make him an abuser, just a selfish POS. I think Danielle’s family is just trying to make sure they don’t end up alienated from her. They’re in a pretty awful position but if they stay supportive and don’t end up alienated from her they can at least monitor the situation. They’re just choosing the lesser evil, I think.

Abusers are very much like Garrick. He looks harmless but let me tell you, there is something in his eyes that would scare the hell out of me. And I fully believe he has abused Dannielle from the get go. He has a hold over her that would scare me to death. Neither of their sons supported the so called sister wife B.S. and for Danni to agree to divorce him so he could marry another woman and have no legal rights tells me he did some major abusing to get her to agree with the deal. I feel for Danni to a point but if she is the one who bailed him out, I only feel sorry for the kids. I have no doubts the Ick has abused Danni from the very beginning and he found his first victim in her. Real monsters rarely look like monsters. They can charm the birds out of the trees. But the first time you say no they make sure it is the last time. I have been there and it is a hell of a way to live.
There has been an issue with Roberta, Natalia, the other short lived potential, and now Lorrana. The common denominator is G & D. Even D has been mistreated by him. Enough already. He needs to go from the show.

Ick is repulsive, and brainwashed Danni is not going to help her “sister wife.” Poor little Sarah, having that POS as a dad. I hope Lorrana can get her citizenship, and get away from those awful people. Ick uses God to excuse his fetish perverted behavior.

I’ve personally thought Garrick was a POS from thr first episode he showed his face. Carrick wants multiple sex partners but doesn’t want Danielle to have the same. Thus, finding a way to make Danielle.,Who isnt very bright, believe the Chris Bible says polygamy is a Godly thing. Danielle, who fell for this, most likely was desperate for someone to live her the way Garrick should have. So she thinks she’ll be loved by Garrick’s concubine like sisters. God she’s dumb.
It is much more than Danielle being dumb. She was desperate for love and the Ick saw her as someone he could use. The first time she disagreed he probably smacked the hell out of her and then pulled the usual abuser trick..tears and swearing it would never happen again. Desperate for live and no way to get out, at least in her mind. The worst thing is she has 3 kids by that monster and the influence on them is sickening. Danielle is ignorant, not dumb. The first victim is usually in so deep they see no way out. I am hoping Lorrana gets herself and her child out of that sick family. Garrick sees himself as desirable to any woman and the ones who dumped him were smarter than he will ever be. If they used him, so be it. He is sick for sure and that Danielle has involved her children in his sick thinking and that she is willing to settle for him says alot about her self esteem.
Did Danielle post his bail? I hope Lorana has some kind of support system that we are unaware of. Danielle and Garrick are awful people.

People are speculating that he took her phone away to prevent her from calling 911. Who knows if that’s true, but sounds believable
Of course Dannielle would stand by her abusive man and not Lorrana who she pretends she loves so much and calls her “SISTER!!” repeatedly in every episode. Though now that I’m thinking about it maybe she calls her that so she won’t have to remember anyone’s actual name. I’m sure it’s difficult for her given how many women Garrick has ran through now. In the name of God of course. Just like they will somehow twist this to be Lorrana’s fault. I can totally hear him say in his whiny voice “I was just doing what God wanted, Lorrana. He told me to discipline you so you can fully embrace your spiritual purpose”. 🥴
I hope Lorrana is smarter than Dannielle. I worry about her though because the only two people she has to rely on are these two knuckleheads. She is in a country where she does not have her own money, is completely reliant on Garrick & Dannielle and she can’t speak English fluently. Now she has a beautiful little girl that she needs to be able to support. She is in a very bad spot and I feel like Garrick designed it that way and Dannielle supported his decision.
It will be easier for her to qualify for citizenship with him having a DV charge against her. And she had been taking English classes, if she’s continued for the whole year of their marriage, I hope she’s able to speak well enough to get along for herself to make a good life for herself and her daughter. And I especially hope that her daughter never has to be around her disgusting father again and that Lorrana takes him to the cleaners for everything she can. If the show is accurate, I cannot imagine that the prenup they forced through last minute is valid in any sense. Typically a prenup so close to the marriage date supports coercion/duress and would be considered invalid
