Garrick Merrifield was arrested earlier this week and on Friday, more information began to emerge regarding what the Seeking Sister Wife star allegedly did to land himself in the slammer.
TMZ has revealed that the affidavit for Garrick’s arrest warrant states that Garrick’s newest wife Lorrana told police on Monday that Garrick took her phone away while they were arguing because she told him she was going to call the police. He allegedly refused to allow her to contact her family in Brazil. (As fans of the show are aware, Lorrana hails from Brazil and married Garrick last year. Garrick and Lorrana welcomed their first child together in July and just announced the baby news online last week.)
Lorrana claimed that Garrick also threatened to call Immigration & Customs Enforcement on her.
“Lorrana told cops she was terrified because she isn’t familiar with all the laws, even though she’s in the country legally on a visa,” TMZ reported.
According to the affidavit, Lorrana then attempted to search the Internet to find out how she could get in touch with the cops, but soon found that the Wi-Fi had been disconnected on her devices, something she believes Garrick did to keep her from contacting law enforcement.
As The Ashley told you, both Garrick and Dannielle appear to have removed all photos of Lorrana from their respective Instagram pages– including the video shared by TLC, in which they are no longer tagged. Only one single promo pic featuring Lorrana remains on Dannielle’s account.
According to court records obtained by The Ashley, Garrick is next due in court for an in-court appearance on December 2.
The Merrifields have not yet commented publicly on Garrick’s arrest.

What are those women thinking having kids with him and keeping them with them? What does he contribute to the relationship besides practical and sexual?
OF COURSE he threatened to call ICE on her. OF COURSE he did.
There’s not the slightest indication of the physical abuse that everyone here is so sure is happening. LOL!
The unknown is what happened after they got married. We have no idea what’s transpired over the last year other than her having a baby.
Hopefully we’ll get an idea as this season progresses. I’m dying to know!

What’s strange is how you all express so much concern for Lorrana, yet you desperately want it to be true that’s been physically abused. What the hell?

So are you too obtuse to understand that what he did is abuse? Or you are excusing that form abuse?
If you’re asking if I think it’s abuse to prevent someone from making a call, I think it depends on the situation. If she was in danger, yes. But we don’t know that. Maybe she was threatening to make up a lie about him and he was trying to prevent that. In that case, I would not consider it abuse. The point is that we don’t know!
In short, we know next to nothing about this situation and we know literally nothing about their marriage, except that it happened and that she had a baby. So while I’m very comfortable calling Garrick a POS since that’s been proven, I’m not comfortable calling him an abuser until more is known.
I still don’t get why you’re all so locked into the abuser narrative. It’s very strange to me that people are not even acknowledging the fact that there’s been very little info provided. You don’t seem to even have noticed!

Abuse is not just physical. Preventing you from contact your family and the police IS ABUSE. Threatening with contacting ICE knowing full well what’s going on nowadays IS ABUSE. He doesn’t need to beat her up to abuse her. He’s an abuser and that’s evident.
I thibk this could end very badly for all 3 of them. Garrick and Danielle divorced under false pretences. Garrick brought Loranna to the us with a K1, im pretty sure they wouldn’t have given them a K1 if they knew Loranna was going to be wife number 2

If they committed visa fraud i REALLY hope he gets investigated. Maybe he shouldnt have threatened to call ICE when he was a party to shady immigration ploys? What a short sighted fool.
And this is exactly why all 6 (I think) women that he was engaged to & now married he purposely went to other countries. He wants the upper hand. He wants to be able to easily control them, cut them off from their families, isolate them and make them completely reliant. So he can then threaten them. And Dannielle will NEVER stand up for her “sister” against this twat waffle, Garrick.
