‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Star Garrick Merrifield Ordered to Complete “Domestic Conflict” Classes Following Arrest; Judge Approves His Request to Move to California

“Cal-ee-forny, here we come!”

Garrick Merrifield was back in court this week to answer for his November arrest for domestic violence against his second wifeLorrana, and it appears the Seeking Sister Wife star is looking to move on from his run-in with the law— and move out of Colorado!

Garrick— who, as ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ fans know was arrested November 24 for domestic violence and obstruction of telephone services— was present in court for the plea hearing and sentencing on Tuesday, according to The Mountain Mail. Garrick’s attorney asked the judge to consider a sentence consisting of Garrick taking a six-week “domestic conflict” class. His attorney asked that, after Garrick completed the class, the case be dismissed.

The judge agreed to the sentence, as did the prosecutor in the case.

Garrick’s muggy from November…

In addition to the sentence, the judge also approved Garrick’s request to be allowed to move to California. As ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ fans know, Garrick and his family (which also includes his first wife Dannielle Merrifield) reside in Colorado. At his previous hearing earlier this month, Garrick asked the judge to allow him to visit California from January 8-15, a request the judge granted.

“Back your bags, ladies! We’re moving this trainwreck to California!”

It does not appear that the relocation choice is random. Days before Garrick’s arrest, Dannielle posted that the family’s company, Merrifield Custom Builders was “developing a luxury resort” in California and in need of investors. In a video posted to social media, Dannielle called the project her family’s “God-given dream.” Dannielle did not state where in California this “God-given dream” resort would be located, but it’s very likely this has something to do with Garrick’s request to move to California.

Although it was not mentioned specifically in court on Tuesday, it can be assumed that Dannielle and Lorrana will be moving to the Golden State with their man. As The Ashley previously reported, Lorrana confirmed earlier this month that she and Garrick are still together despite Garrick’s arrest for domestic violence.

“Moving forward with faith, gratitude, and hope for a new year of blessings,” Lorrana captioned a carousel of smooch-filled proposal pictures of her and Garrick on January 2. “Happy 2026.”

As fans of the show know, Garrick welcomed daughter Sarah Mae with Lorrana in July.

According to the arrest warrant, Lorrana accused Garrick on November 24 of taking her phone away during an argument because she threatened to call the police on him. Lorrana alleged that Garrick not only refused to allow her to contact her family in Brazil, but that he also threatened to call Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) on her.

She also informed police that “someone” had disconnected the Wi-Fi in the family’s home at the time of the incident, which she suspected Garrick may have done to further prevent her from making outside communication.

“That’s so….weird. I wonder who that could have been?”

Garrick bonded out of jail the next day and he, along with Dannielle, unfollowed and wiped nearly all photos of Lorrana from their respective social media pages. As of press time, though, both Garrick and Dannielle have refollowed Lorrana, and Lorrana them back.

Garrick’s next court hearing is scheduled to be a virtual hearing held on March 31.

The Ashley will continue to provide updates on this case. Stay tuned…
