The biggest scandals in pop culture history will be explored and exposed in E!’s new docuseries, Dirty Rotten Scandals.
“This March, E!’s new documentary series, ‘Dirty Rotten Scandals’ pulls back the curtain on the dark side of our entertainment obsessions,” the trailer states.
Among the series featured in the docuseries is The Dr. Phil Show, as well as its host and namesake, Phil McGraw. The talkshow, created by Dr. Phil and Oprah Winfrey, aired from 2002 to 2023, with reruns still airing today.
In the ‘Dirty Rotten Scandals’ trailer, one of the participants accuses the talk show of “bringing on vulnerable people and exploiting them.”
“I want people to understand that, like, this is harmful,” the person adds.
Others echo similar sentiments, with one person claiming that “the environment there was so bad,” and another calling the talk show, “a ritualistic humiliation of people who have come to you for help.”
The trailer also mentions Dr. Phil “sending kids off to be abused,” presumably referring to the controversial juvenile awareness programs younger guests were frequently sent to during the show’s run, allegedly to combat behavioral issues. In the trailer, a man and woman discuss their son’s “condition” when he was sent to one of these program by Dr. Phil and how it could have cost their son his life.

Also being called out in the upcoming docuseries is America’s Next Top Model, the modeling competition series hosted and created by Tyra Banks, which aired for 24 seasons. (‘Dirty Rotten Scandals’ is the second documentary/docuseries being released this year that focuses on ‘ANTM,’ with Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model set to premiere February 16 on Netflix.)
“‘America’s Next Top Model’ really tortured these girls for Tyra Banks’s ego,” former supermodel and ‘ANTM’ judge Janice Dickinson claims in the ‘Dirty Rotten Scandals’ trailer, with a former ‘ANTM’ contestant adding, “Tyra had the ability to make or break you.”
“It wasn’t a modeling competition, it was psychological warfare,” Cycle 5 participant Lisa D’Amato later claims.
There will also be an episode of ‘Dirty Rotten Scandals’ that focuses on The Price is Right, as well as the alleged actions of those who worked behind the scenes of the show, including longtime host Bob Barker, who died in 2023 at the age of 99.
“‘The Price is Right’ was a place that was very much about retaliation,” model Claudia Jordan claims in the trailer. (According to E! News, Claudia– who was one of “Barker’s Beauties” on the show from 2000 to 2003– sued ‘The Price is Right’ producer Wayne Rossi for sexual harassment and Bob Barker for creating a hostile work environment and wrongful termination; neither party responded to the allegations.)
After a chair featuring Bob Barker’s name is shown on screen, viewers hear someone accusing the late host of being “vindictive” and “sexually aggressive.”
“Most people are not aware of how many times Bob Barker has been sued by female employees,” another states.
‘Dirty Rotten Scandals’ premieres March 4 on E!; the episodes on ‘The Dr. Phil Show’ will be the first to air, followed by the ‘ANTM’ episodes on March 11 and ‘The Price is Right’ episodes on March 18.
