I went to high school in Irvine, CA for a couple years and the Mormon community there is massive. I had Mormon friends who would invite us non Mormons to their dances at their church. Before you were allowed to go in, they corralled us into a little room to try to convert us without our parents there. It was the weirdest thing. The mothers were like little Duggar baby ovens.
