Joseph Duggar Transferred from Arkansas Jail; His Brother Jason Issues Scathing Statement Saying He’s “Disgusted” by Joe’s “Evil Actions”

“I’m having deja vu here. Didn’t I just condemn a brother for something like this?”

Joseph Duggar has been transferred out of the Arkansas jail he’s been sitting at for over a week, and is now being condemned by his brother Jason for his alleged actions.

On Friday, VINELink (aka the “Victim Information and Notification Everyday” portal that provides info regarding the custody status of inmates in county jails and state prison within the United States) issued a notification that Joseph was transferred out of the Washington County Jail in Arkansas and into another facility. While it has not yet been confirmed, Joe is likely now behind bars in Bay County, Florida, where he was due to be extradited to face charges for  allegedly sexually abusing a nine-year-old girl in 2020 while in that county.

Joe seemed relatively comfy while residing in the Washington County Jail— telling his wife Kendra in a phone call last week (which you can listen to the audio of here) that he was mostly resting, reading his Bible and praying. He was also able to call Kendra one to two times a day while in the Arkansas jail, which is only about a 15-minute or so drive from the Duggar Family Compound in Tontitown, Arkansas.

Now that Joe’s on the move, he may experience a harder time getting in touch with his family. One family member who does not seem to be worried about that is Jason Duggar, who recenlty issued a scathing statement condemning his brother’s “evil actions” and calling Joe out for (allegedly) abusing his “authority to harass the innocent”— an action Jason stated is “vile.”

“Anyone know how to change a last name in Arkansas? Asking for a friend…”

Jason’s statement— which he issued alongside his wife Maddie— is much more harshly worded than any other statement issued by a member of the Duggar family since the news of Joe’s arrest broke. Jason made it clear where he stands on Joe and his (alleged) actions, and left little open to interpretation, unlike some of the siblings who spoke out before him.

On Thursday, Joe’s sister Joy Duggar Forsyth posted a statement to social media expressing how she has felt since finding out that Joe is being accused of (and has allegedly confessed to) molesting a nine-year-old girl in 2020.

While the statement posted by Joy— who was extremely close to Joe— talked about her feelings since the arrest, Jason’s statement showed Joe no mercy.

“We, like many, have spent the week completely shocked, confused, and grieved to list a few emotions,” Jason wrote. “We are disgusted to hear the news about my brother; however, this isn’t about how it’s impacted our lives. Our hearts are burdened because a child’s life has been turned upside down due to evil actions of someone who should have never hurt the vulnerable. This is something unthinkable.

Jason also made it clear that he hopes Joseph will not be spared any punishment, should be he be found guilty of the crimes he’s charged with.
“Ouch, bro.”

“We are angered by what was happened, and we pray God’s righteous hand and the court system will serve justice in the situation as deserved,” 25-year-old Jason wrote. “Maddie and I have always had a special place in our hearts for the vulnerable around us, and we will continue to do so. To fathom that someone would abuse their authority to harass the innocent is vile. We ask that you pray for the victim who has been brave enough to share what has happened.”

Unlike his siblings who released statements before him, Jason showed also no sympathy to Joe’s wife Kendra. (As The Ashley previously told, Kendra was also arrested last week and charged with four counts of false imprisonment as well as four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. Joe received the same charges, which are reportedly not related to his Florida charges.)

Jason did, however, ask his followers to pray for Joe and Kendra’s four children, who— if Joe is convicted of the crimes against him— may never see their father outside of prison walls again. (Joe could be facing a life sentence if he is found guilty.)

“His children must face the reality of losing a father that should have been a spiritual leader in their lives,” Jason wrote. “We stand with innocent children. Always.”

Jason’s statement about Joseph is much harsher than the one he issued four years ago when his brother, Josh, was sentenced to 151 months in prison for receiving child sex abuse materials. Although Jason condemned Josh as a false Christian in that statement, he also wrote that he still loved Josh and that he had forgiven Josh of “his wrongdoings.”

  1. Good for them for at least speaking against his crimes. Meanwhile Michelle and JB are in a corner praying.
