Anna Johnston is responding after her sister Liz talked about being hopeful that her and her family’s estrangement from Anna would eventually end.
In case you missed it, Liz gave an interview to Reality Nightcap earlier this week and discussed the opportunity of mending her relationship with her estranged sister. During the interview, Liz admitted that reconciliation would be “difficult” because Anna’s chosen to no longer appear on the family’s reality show “7 Little Johnstons.” (The family’s feud with Anna has been a major storyline for the past three seasons of the show and continues to be, even though Anna has chosen to not be a part of the current season.)
Liz said that her and Anna are “on different paths” at the moment, and though she doesn’t know what it would take to make amends, insisted that she and her parents are open to having a conversation (which they already tried at the end of last season).
Now, Anna is clapping back at Liz’s comments on Facebook, denying that Liz and the family want to reconcile. In a lengthy comment posted under a clip from the interview, Anna implied that she only continued to film for the show as long as she did to keep her family from turning on her.
“You wonder why I stayed on the show for so long without being paid,” she wrote. “It feels like the family only values a relationship [with me] if I’m part of [the show].”

Anna also clarified that, despite what Liz has said, she hasn’t tried to mend their relationship.
“[Liz] hasn’t tried to fix anything either,” Anna claimed. “I reached out to her on her birthday and wedding day and got no response. [Our sister] Emma even posted a TikTok on how upsetting it is that [our mom, Amber] tells her not to speak to me.”

“It’s hard to even try to talk when it always turns into yelling, like when [my father] Trent came to my home,” she continued. “At the end of the day, I was exhausted from feeling controlled for years, and I still don’t fully understand why [my family is] upset with me.”
Anna proposed that they “let go of the past, forgive each other, and say ‘I love you.’”
She agreed with Liz that “there are two sides to every story” and claimed that she’s “not scared to share the truth.”

“You guys have explained on the show why you guys are upset with me and it is RIDICULOUS,” she wrote to her family. “I can’t help you guys put out there on how you guys treat me & then you guys say that there are two sides. It would be hard for me to believe if it [was] just me against the family, but how about your aunt & cousins & second cousins!”
(Trent’s sister, Heidi, and her daughter, Ella, have notably been excluded from the recent season of “7 Little Johnstons” while appearing frequently on Anna’s TikTok.)
“I may not have kids, but I know I couldn’t rest at night knowing our family is like this,” Anna wrote. “We’re not united… we’re completely broken apart.”
Fans continue to rally online in support of Anna, with many vowing to boycott new seasons of “7 Little Johnstons” in retaliation for the family’s treatment of her.
Liz and the rest of the Johnston family have yet to respond to Anna’s comments.
