Christina Haack has had very few kind words to say about her soon-to-be ex-husband Josh Hall since the pair announced in July that they were divorcing; however, the HGTV star revealed this week that Josh’s absence actually resulted in her having a better filming experience on the upcoming series The Flip Off.
As The Ashley previously told you, Christina and Josh were set to appear in the new HGTV series alongside Christina’s (first) ex-husband and former Flip or Flop co-host Tarek El Moussa and Tarek’s wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. Shortly after Christina and Josh filed for divorce, however, it was announced that Josh had been cut from the show, which had just begun filming.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Christina revealed that, while Josh is “barely” in the new show, her on-set experience greatly improved once he was gone for good.
“We only filmed together a few times, and it was not fun, to be honest,” she said. “I did not enjoy filming with him. So, having split up made this, to be honest, so much easier and so much better in every, every way.”
Heather– who, along with Tarek, has been publicly supportive of Christina amid her messy divorce from Josh– echoed Christina’s sentiments, telling the outlet that she, too, was happy to see Christina’s (most-recent) husband exit the show.
“I mean, to be honest, I don’t wanna be mean, but it was kind of nice to see him go,” she said.
Christina went on to reveal that she had confided in Tarek long before she and Josh split and that her ex-husband was aware that things had been rocky between her and Josh for “about 18 months” of their less than three-year marriage.
Christina added that the news of her Josh’s divorce “wasn’t news” to Tarek.
In her interview with ET, the Christina on the Coast star also claimed that some of her and Josh’s marriage issues were caused by Josh’s insecurity.
“I think that when someone is insecure by you and doesn’t like to watch you win, that really puts a damper on everything,” she explained. “I feel like I was not shining as bright to try to not make him feel emasculated … .”
Josh has not responded to Christina’s comments regarding his exit from ‘The Flip Off.’
‘The Flip Off’ is set to premiere in early 2025 on HGTV. Christina’s other ex-husband, Ant Anstead, is set to make an appearance on the new show.
