Averey Tressler and Adam Larson of The Challenge are getting hitched!
Averey took to X earlier this week to confirm that she had accepted Adam’s marriage proposal– news that many ‘Challenge’ fans were anticipating after Adam revealed in a confessional on The Challenge All Stars: Rivals finale that he planned to pop the question to his girlfriend and fellow ‘Challenge’ star.
During the episode, which aired Wednesday, Adam and “rival” Steve Meinke took home the win and agreed to split the $250,000 prize, rather than stealing it from their partner (à la Johnny Bananas and Ashley Mitchell). While celebrating the victory, Adam took to ‘The Challenge’ confessional room to tell viewers– and girlfriend Averey, who was watching at home– that he planned to propose.
“First thing I’m going to do, and obviously Averey, if you’re seeing this right now, you might want to look to the left or right to make sure I’m on a knee, and so, babe, wherever I am in the room right now, what do you say? Will you marry me?” Adam asked, as reported by People.
“OH. MY. GOD,” Averey wrote on X after seeing Adam’s confessional. “Is this real life right now?! #shook #unreal.”
Averey went on to confirm in follow up tweet, “I said yes!!!”
As fans of ‘The Challenge’ may remember, 46-year-old Adam and 34-year-old Averey met while competing on Season 4 of The Challenge: All Stars. While Adam revealed to Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday that he didn’t know if his confessional “proposal” would air on the finale, he said that he and Averey “already had something planned” regarding their future.
“ … She is my everything and I’ve asked her to marry me about a thousand times,” he said of Averey, who currently lives with him and his two daughters.
Adam referred to Averey as “the girls’ mom,” telling the outlet that Averey has even joked with his daughters that she was going to propose to him. Adam also told the outlet that he didn’t know if Averey would even see the on-air “proposal” during Wednesday’s finale, as their family would be at an RV park when the episode aired. In the event that Averey missed the scene, Adam said he knew she would find out about it, as her phone would “blow up” with notifications.
“ … I’m like, how do we make this into a beautiful family moment and then still have the proposal as well?” Adam said. “I want to do something absolutely amazing for [her] and so I don’t want to cheapen the proposal at all, which is I why I’m kind of thinking of doing both.”
Averey and Adam have not revealed when they are planning to tie the knot.

One of my favourite blind items from the Real World was Danny Roberts on Watch What Happens Live when he said he hooked up with a straight cast mate who used to date Trishelle. By process of elimination, people said it was Adam.
Big fan of the older Challenge episodes. Had no idea these two were dating. Congrats and hope they have a beautiful life together!

Ashley Mitchell did it too. She did it to Hunter.
But Ashley did the same thing to her partner..that is why she is mentioned with Bananas.
