Ryan Edwards Seemingly Confirms in Court Documents That ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ Has Been Cancelled; Asks Judge to Reduce His Child Support Payment to Ex Mackenzie

“I ain’t got that sweet, sweet ‘Teen Mom’ money no more!”

Teen Mom dad Ryan Edwards has seemingly confirmed in new court documents that Teen Mom: The Next Chapter has been cancelled by MTV.

According to The Sun, Ryan made this claim in recent court documents regarding his divorce from wife Mackenzie Standifer, in which the father of four is demanding that the court adjust the current child support agreement between he and his ex to reflect the fact that he is no longer raking in big bucks from appearing on ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.’

My mom and dad I got a lotta mouths to feed ’round here.”

In the Motion to Modify Temporary Child Support, Ryan– who shares son Jagger and daughter Stella with Mackenzie– notes that the court entered an Order Setting Temporary Child Support in February 2025 based on his monthly income at the time– $13,333, which included his ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ earnings, as well as the income he earned at his “regular” job as a mechanic. The documents go on to claim that Ryan is “no longer earning income through that series, through no fault of his own.”

“Defendant is unable to continue to pay support in accordance with the October 2024 Order and requests that this court enter an Order Modifying Support until the final hearing in this matter,” the court docs state.

As The Ashley told you in February, Ryan was ordered to begin paying Mackenzie $1,553 in monthly child support for Jagger and Stella. (Ryan also shares 16-year-old son Bentley with ex Maci Bookout and daughter Presley with fiancée Amanda Conner.) This amount reflected the information stated in court documents filed earlier this year, in which Ryan listed his monthly income at $16,010, while his “good faith estimate” of Mackenzie’s monthly income was listed as $4,166.

Ryan was reportedly earning a $35,000 paycheck for each episode of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ that he appeared in, and as The Ashley previously reported, he began working a “regular” job in August, earning $27 an hour. In the latest court documents; however, Ryan claims he is now only earning income through his “regular” job, where he allegedly makes $4,282 a month.

Ryan’s comments regarding the future of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ come just weeks after Brittany DeJesus– sister of main cast member Briana DeJesus– claimed in a TikTok comment that the show would not be returning.

Brittany, to the help wanted ads…

“I ain’t broke no more because I ended up getting my money and my sister doesn’t give me money, MTV gives me money LOL,” Brittany responded to a fan on the social media platform before adding, “But the show [is] canceled, so bye bye to those checks LMAO.”

As The Ashley previously told you, ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ dad Cory Wharton also spoke about the uncertain future of the series back in April, telling fans that while he didn’t want to say anything or even “put the bad energy out there,” the cast was “waiting to get green lit” for the next season.

“ … Which means, we’re waiting to let the higher ups figure out all what they gotta do and tell us, ‘Hey, we’re filming again,’” he explained.

Cory noted at the time that seeing fellow cast members Mackenzie McKee and Briana on an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show made him question the future of the MTV series even more.

As you may remember, Mackenzie and Briana appeared on the talk show in April, during which Mackenzie announced that she and Khesanio Hall were expecting twins and Briana spoke about her upbringing and her relationship with mom Roxanne.

Cory told fans that he thought Mackenzie’s pregnancy was “a great story” that the show would want to follow; however, Mackenzie revealing that she was pregnant with twins was something he thought would’ve been announced on the upcoming season of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter,’ not on a talk show.

While Cory clarified at the time that the show was “not officially done,” he predicted that if MTV did decide that the series was “done on the network,” it could possibly move to the Paramount+ streaming service.

“…to appear on every single season of ‘The Challenge’ going forward.”

“I think we’re a far ways from that, but right now, we are on pause and we’ll see,” he added.

MTV has yet to confirm that the series has been cancelled. The Ashley’s sources have also been kept in the dark about the future of the show.

As for the (seemingly never-ending) saga of Ryan and Mackenzie’s divorce, the exes are due back in court in mid-August for their next hearing.

“These divorce proceedings are gonna last longer than the ding-damn marriage, I reckon!”

  1. Wow. Just when you think *maybe he will actually fulfill his duties as a father… Since he sure is bragging now about being there for Bentley…
So, Ryan, you sure are “on it” when it comes to reducing the amount of child support. Are you even paying any of it to Mack?
That’s what we want to know… If only you were “on it” about actually paying her the support. SMH. I continue to believe that while yes, Ryan might be sober, but he’s not in recovery- if he was, he would be taking accountability and not trying to dodge responsibility he has to his younger children with Mack if he was following the principles of most recovery programs. He’s pathetic!

  2. The show needs to be cancelled. The parents are now grown a** adults that can go get a regular job like the rest of us. Cory didn’t bring much to the table to begin with. Amber should have been fired years ago when she slapped Gary in the face. MTV wants to shine light on people like that? I think their story should be ended on MTV.

  3. Leave it to Rhine to immediately file to reduce his child support, after going several months refusing to pay Mackenzie anything.

Also, I really hope that MTV just moves on for now. We can get a catch-up special when the kids are 18 and can make their own choices as legal adults about whether or not they want to film.

  4. Can someone please start a poll guessing which jobs the TM & TM2 ‘stahs’ will try nab.
Or perhaps it’ll be easier to guess who will join Juhnelle on tha OF?

  5. Well if this is true, I’m going to have to change my user name that I’ve had for years since the powers that be have listened! LOL

  6. Wow finally! Also…bro was making over 13K a month and only had to pay her 1500 for 2 kids? Man the judges in that town favor the Edwards family.

  7. Explains why Maci is posting lame try hard “tik tok” videos on Instagram. Trying to get some collab offers rolling in. I doubt the TMT tshirts are going great with their huge tax bill.

  8. When does he plan on reimbursing her for the costs of repairing all the damage he did to the house?

These OGs are about to struggle hard. None of them bothered to get actual jobs, especially Cate and Tyler. At least, the “newer” ones had jobs and kept working.

  9. I never realized how pretty Brianna looks in the Drew Barrymore show! It’s weird though sometimes she looks completely different but I think she looks her best in that pic posted above with McKenzie and Drew

  10. Maybe Mack can get her married boyfriend to help out with some cash. And yes. It’s all over Reddit.

    1. Whether or not she has a boyfriend, what does that have to do with Ryan not taking care of his own children and his financial obligations?

        1. Stay mad about what? lmao

Your mama dropped you on your head one too many times dear.

    2. Cool red herring. What does that have to do with Ryan’s complete lack of accountability when it comes to his children (or anything else)?

    3. What does her love life have to do with him supporting their children? And, before you say it, nobody is mad. Just make it make sense. Cuz you just come off sounding like a bitter baby daddy/mama that ALSO doesn’t take care of their responsibilities.

  11. These folks HAD to know that at some point, this gravy train would come to a hault. They had to. If they didn’t choose to be wise with their money while they had garbage truck loads of it being dumped in their yards, then now is the time to panic. With how much money they made, they should all be set for life if they had been wise with their earnings.

      1. bffr how long is that even gonna last? it’s just them bashing adoption now and those two clowns have never committed to something like college and wheres tierra reign now? and the carly house? and cate hasn’t even talked about her microblading “passion” in years

  12. I’m super glad that Ryan has turned his life around and all, good for his new child and for Bentley. But I find it disgusting how hard he fights any sort of accountability for her time in his life. You have to still have it pretty bad for someone enable to actually hate them so hard.

  13. I’m glad that crapfest is finally over but I hope they do a special with Mackenzie and Khessanio’s babies so they can have some extra cash. I’m sure they’ll need it

      1. But they could afford them.. what a weird thing to say. So if someone loses their job you say “well shouldn’t have had kids I guess.”

        1. If a person’s only job is something unstable like a failing reality TV show then yes, I would say it was a stupid and irresponsible idea to have children at the time, particularly when you already have 3 minor children to support. I hope that’s not the case with McKenzie and her new husband, I don’t follow them so don’t know the answer either way.

I was responding to what the poster above said about them potentially needing extra money from a birth special. I surely hope they are smart enough to have had their children with the knowledge Teen Mom would likely end and therefore have other ways to support them

      2. I didn’t say they can’t afford it. They both have jobs outside TM but they also have twin newborns and they are expensive so they surely can use some extra cash.

        1. Who couldn’t “use some extra cash”?

I hope they don’t do some “special” because the time of exploiting one’s children (no matter their age) for tv should be long over by now (never should have been a thing at all).

I happen to like those two and wish them nothing but the best for their family. I just don’t want to see any more of these kids being exploited by their parents for a pay day. Kids shouldn’t be fodder for “reality tv”, special or not. Adults can make the choice, kids can’t.

  14. Halleluyer.

It about time. Better get those resumes out, Cate, Tyler, Maci, Amber, Cheyenne and the loser she married and the other loser she had a baby with..

At least Leah Messer and Jade had the wherewithal to get their asses in gear a while ago. And I think Briana worked the entire time, as well as Ashley.

It’s the OG’s that will really suffer. The ones who never finished their education, never pay their taxes…
