Brock Davies Speaks Out About His Affair; Says He Self-Sabotaged His Relationship with Scheana Shay Out of Fear of Becoming a Dad Again

“No worries, everything is good as gold over here!”

Weeks after Scheana Shay revealed in an excerpt of her memoir My Good Side that her husband had a “brief affair” while she was pregnant with their daughter in 2021, Brock Davies has broken his silence on his past infidelity.

As The Ashley told you earlier this month, Scheana shared with readers in her memoir that while she was pregnant with daughter Summer Moon in 2021, Brock engaged in a physical affair– one that she didn’t learn about until 2023 when Brock finally opened up about the infidelity to her.

Scheana explains in her book that Brock– who fathered two children, Winter and Eli, with his ex-wife– allegedly admitted that when he engaged in the affair, he was “scared about being a father again, specifically whether or not he even deserved to be, and he chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else.” Scheana maintains that her husband “chose” to have the affair, insisting it was “very much a conscious decision” and that “no one twisted his arm or dragged him into bed.”

On Friday, Brock– who has been married to Scheana since 2021– broke his silence on the news of his affair, telling social media followers that he intentionally waited to speak out about the incident in order to “give Scheana the space to share her story.” Along with a lengthy letter addressed to his wife, Brock told fans that, over the last two years, he and Scheana have been “privately doing the hard work of rebuilding what I broke,” while vowing to continue making an effort to be “the best version” of himself.

“While we’re at it, let’s also make an effort to use this mess to score a bigger role on Season 3 of ‘The Valley.'”

Brock began his letter by telling Scheana how “incredibly proud” he is to see her tell her truth with such courage, reiterating that he kept his own words “private until now” because this moment deserved to be hers; however, he said he now wanted to “publicly own” his part of what happened.

“I have spent a long time sitting with the weight of what I did early in our relationship,” he wrote. “I hurt you. I fully accept that. I broke something that should have been sacred between us. You gave me trust, love, and stability. I gave you pain. I carry that with me everyday.”

Brock went on to tell Scheana that he knew there would be both personal and public consequences when he revealed to her what he had done, but insisted that none of those consequences compare to what he did to Scheana or their family.

“I crossed a line that should have never been crossed,” he wrote. “I betrayed the woman who believed in me, and in doing so, I damaged something real between us. That is what hurts the most.”

Brock acknowledged that the affair wasn’t a lapse in judgement, but rather “a failure of character” and a choice he deeply regrets, noting that Scheana “did not deserve that kind of betrayal, especially from someone who promised to protect your heart.”

“I think about that often, not just what I did, but what it took from you and how much harder it made everything that followed,” he continued, before going on to praise Scheana for never wavering as a mother after learning about his affair. “ … Our daughter is incredibly lucky to have you. Watching the way you show up for her has changed the way I try to show up too. It has grounded me in something real and lasting.”

Brock concluded his letter by telling Scheana that he wasn’t asking for forgiveness and only wanted her to know how deeply sorry he is for breaking her trust.

“I understand the road to healing is going to be rough,” he wrote. “We have faced hard truths due to my actions, and you have stood strong. Together, we have built something real, not just as parents, but as partners. I am proud of where we are, and I do not take a moment of it for granted.”

Brock also addressed his affair on Friday’s episode of Scheana’s Scheananigans podcast, during which he claimed– as Scheana stated in her book– that he “didn’t know how to handle” becoming a father again.

“Inherently, I always deflected to the worst version of myself,” he said, as reported by Us Weekly. “I was scared of being a parent again. I believed what I read. I believed I was a bad dad.”

When Scheana suggested that the affair was Brock’s way of “self-sabotaging” due to his estrangement from his other children, Brock agreed, but admitted that his response to the situation ultimately wasn’t an acceptable one.

“Yeah…no s**t.”

“That in itself was just an example of me just deflecting and being that version of myself, right?” Brock said. “It wasn’t until years later that I actually thought about that. It’s not OK to even have that as a response because that was just me– again– blaming other reasons outside of facing it up to myself. So I apologize for even saying that.”

Earlier this week, Scheana revealed in an interview with People that she offered Brock the opportunity to read what she had written about his affair in her memoir before submitting it, but that Brock declined and gave her free rein to “say whatever” she wanted to say about his infidelity.

“He said, ‘No, this is your story to tell. I don’t want to steer you one way or the other. Say whatever you want to say, it’s your book,’” Scheana recalled, later adding that Brock had only recently read her account of his affair, leading to an emotional conversation between the two.

“I think he didn’t realize truly how hurt I was and how much I was struggling until he read it,” she said. “That was hard for both of us. There’ve been quite a few tears in the last couple of weeks in the Davies house, but ultimately, we had a very heartfelt, tearful conversation.”

  1. The massive scumbag, turned out to be an even bigger scumbag than originally thought. Scheana “doormat” Shay must be so proud.

  2. So let me get this straight. He was afraid of being an actual parent so his answer was let me cheat on my wife? A little extramarital action will prepare me to be a better Dad.

Scheana can believe that bullshit but no one else does. He said whatever he could think to say about cheating on his pregnant wife so he could excuse his actions.
