Ryan Edwards Files Motion to Keep His ‘Teen Mom’ Contract Private; Says Exposing Contract Info in Court Could Jeopardize His Spot on Show

“I don’t want them to ‘Farrah’ me and give me the boot from the show!”

Ryan Edwards is hoping to keep the details of his MTV contract private— and out of his very public divorce court case!

The Sun broke the news on Friday that the Teen Mom star filed a motion this week for a protective order that he hopes will enable him to keep the terms of his show contract— as well as the Non-Disclosure Agreement he’s signed for ‘Teen Mom’— out of public view and out of his ongoing divorce case with his estranged wife Mackenzie.

According to court docs obtained by The Sun, Ryan begged the judge to keep the info contained in his ‘Teen Mom’ contract confidential, writing that he is worried about incurring a big fine from MTV– and possibly losing his place on the show— should that info be exposed in court.

“Let’s just keep that stuff between us, judge. No need to expose that stuff and such!”

“Defendant has previously been under contract with a certain media corporation for his appearance on a certain television show,” the docs state. “Part of this contract includes a nondisclosure clause and hefty financial penalty for violating the nondisclosure. Therefore, Defendant by contract is prohibited from providing said contract without violating the agreement.

“Production of this contract would not only be a breach of contract but would potentially jeopardize Defendant’s appearance on future television shows with this media company or its subsidiaries.”

Ryan argued that he has already shown the court substantial proof of his earnings and income without needing to produce the ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ contract and NDA agreement that the judge is reportedly asking for.

“Pssst….meet me around back of the house. I can slip you the contract in exchange for two dog treats and a chew toy. Also…woof.”

As The Ashley previously reported, Ryan filed a motion earlier this month to modify the amount of child support he pays to Mackenzie for their two children, Stella and Jagger. He stated that the Order Setting Temporary Child Support that was filed in February 2025 was based on his monthly income at the time– $13,333, which included his ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ earnings, as well as the income he earned at his “regular” job as a mechanic. The documents go on to claim that Ryan is “no longer earning income through that series, through no fault of his own.”

Filming for ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ has been on pause for months, with many of the cast members stating publicly that they do not know if the show will continue or not, as production has not indicated that there will be a Season 3 but has also not issued a cancellation notice to the cast. (The Ashley is hearing rumblings that something is in the works, and will be discussing this soon.)

Anyway, at the time of Ryan’s filing, he was basically confirming that he was no longer filming for the show and, as a result, was no longer making those giant MTV paychecks that had brought his monthly income to more than $13k.

“Defendant is unable to continue to pay support in accordance with the October 2024 Order and requests that this court enter an Order Modifying Support until the final hearing in this matter,” the court docs state.

As The Ashley told you in February, Ryan was ordered to begin paying Mackenzie $1,553 in monthly child support for Jagger and Stella. (Ryan also shares 16-year-old son Bentley with ex Maci Bookout and daughter Presley with fiancée Amanda Conner.)

Ryan was reportedly earning a $35,000 paycheck for each episode of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ that he appeared in, and as The Ashley previously reported, he began working a “regular” job in August 2024, earning $27 an hour. In the latest court documents; however, Ryan claims he is now only earning income through his “regular” job, where he allegedly makes $4,282 a month.

“I’m considering picking up some shifts working the makeover counter at Sephora, though!”

As of press time, the judge in the case has not ruled on Ryan’s motion to keep his ‘Teen Mom’ documents sealed. He and Mack are due to meet in court again next month for a hearing in their (seemingly never-ending) divorce case.

  1. Imagine being high as shit and getting paid that kind of money to be filmed. Your kids get to watch it and watch you abandoning them. The very least this manchild could do would be to pay the money to help his children have their needs covered.

  2. Just two episodes’ pay could have a family living decently in Tennessee for a year. There’s no reason he should be broke after a couple years of having that type of money from MTV, a well-paying regular job, and Amanda also supposedly working (and possibly receiving child support from her ex, I don’t know). He’s such a disgusting individual, fighting so hard to not take care of his children just to hurt Mackenzie. Absolute garbage.

  3. He is absolute shit. Who tries this hard to not care for their children? Oh but he’s changed! Look how amazing he’s doing on all of these episodes! He’s helping with Bentley! He’s excited for his new baby! He’s sober! RYAN IS A POS! And his children deserve better.

  4. He said the show was cancelled and now he’s afraid of losing his spot on that show? Make it make sense.
He’s just a POS that doesn’t want to pay child support. Absolutely disgusting human being.

  5. The way Ryan has discarded his kids like trash, it makes him trash. They’re far better off without him but a man who acts like that is disgusting. No matter what Mac has done, she takes care of her kids. Ryan is too old be be such a bad person still.

  6. Crazy because just one episode of teen mom could pay for necessities for the kids for some time. 35,000 is crazy money for a lot of people and most of the cast have nothing to show for it when they have made millions throughout the show.

  7. It’s dïscusting how much effort he puts in trying to avoid paying for his children.
If only he had worked this hard on himself

  8. LOL surely Ryan’s attorney knows that courts have a process for handling review of confidential contracts and NDAs. So, this sounds like an attempt claim that he no longer has the MTV income while refusing to show documentation that would actually prove that the show is done. If the show is done and he needs his measly support reduced, why is he so scared that sharing the contract will result in them not filming him anymore?

  9. He makes almost 5K each month and shares bills with his GF. Isn’t it the rule in most states “you decide to have another kid while being responsible for kids from a previous relationship, your previous children shouldn’t suffer or receive less because of your decision to have another child?”
His third baby mama (or fourth, allegedly, there’s another child that was kept secret) will have to work too. It was her decision too to have a baby with him, she knew what his child support obligations were, she can use a calculator.
Also, where is all the MTV money? His mom has whats left on a bankaccount in her name.
Mackenzie knows what they had in savings, investments and with other people when they separated. Where did it all go?

  10. Nice try. Apparently, his attorney hasn’t explained that the judge may appoint a special master to review the document and report back to the court. It’s not like the judicial system doesn’t have a process for handling handle contracts with NDA’s during ligation.

  11. I will never understand how a parent doesn’t want to support their children. Especially when you have the money to do so. But you would rather be a deadbeat dick and not take care of YOUR children. It’s infuriating to see the lengths these assholes will go to. I feel bad for his kids. Eventually they are going to grow up and have the internet and see that their Dad would rather try and squirm his way out of taking care of their needs no matter what lengths he has to go to.

  12. This absolute DICKHEAD would rather cripple Mackenzie, than pay foo fully support his kids. If you add up his MTV salary, plus Amanduh’s, there’s no way that he can’t afford to provide the current court-mandated amount. That doesn’t even account for Larry and Mimi Jenn’s salaries; while they may not be providing monetary support for Ryan’s children, I HIGHLY doubt that they are asking him to leave food and supplies behind on the MANY days per year that Ryan is leaving the kids there and going off to do whatever he feels like doing. Honestly, Larry and Jenn should also be getting child support from Ryan.
