‘Welcome to Plathville’ Season 7 Episode 10 Recap: Brothers Brawling & Plaths Placing Blame

“Considering who my family is, this was literally the best case scenario.”

Grab your dancing shoes (and boxing gloves)– it’s time for another episode of Welcome to Plathville!

This episode picks up at Lydia and Zac’s wedding reception, where the newlyweds are sipping alcohol-free Arnold Palmers while Ethan has taken it upon himself to rearrange table settings so that Micah’s girlfriend Veronica is as far away from him as humanly possible. After literally chucking Veronica’s seashell place card into the void, Ethan tells viewers that Veronica isn’t welcome at his Lydia’s reception because he despises her “with the fury of a thousand suns.”

Knowing that his girlfriend is Plath Enemy No. 1 at the moment, Micah– a full-grown adult– asks Veronica for permission to head to the reception solo, which he’s given, as Veronica is otherwise occupied with her beer and bad attitude.

“Well it WASN’T okay, but now that you’ve given me the ick by asking my permission, go right ahead.”

After Micah walks off, Veronica laughs at the fact that none of Lydia’s brothers followed through with their big plan to “object” to the couple’s union, accusing the brigade of blond bros of being “all talk.”

Isaac (who, along with his fundie fists ‘o’ fury, will soon prove that he is not “all talk”) tells viewers that, like Ethan, he’s big mad that Veronica has started drama on (and before) Lydia’s big day. We then see Ethan bypass the newlyweds at the reception to tell Moriah that she’s no longer allowed to “rekindled” a friendship with Veronica and must pledge her allegiance to the Plath fam and not fall victim to Veronica, whom he claims is only “recruiting allies.”

He does this while Moriah is literally sitting at the wedding party table and poor Lydia is right there, just trying to have the wedding she spent decades in the prayer closet asking for and pretending her brothers aren’t the pricks that they are.

“…and just so YOU know, it’s clearer now more than ever why your wife left you.”

As the reception continues, some of the less-threatening Plath family members take turns at the mic saying kind words about the newlyweds, including Barry, who filibusters the hell out of his father-of-the-bride speech, complete with Bible verses, blessings and best wishes for Lydia and Zac.

After all these seasons of ‘Plathville,’ who could have guessed that it would be Barry who would be the voice of reason and act the most like a normal freaking person

“Sure dad…whatever you say.”

While Lydia marvels over how perfect her and Zac’s wedding day has been (so far), she also notices the half-full table at her reception where Micah and Veronica should be sitting instead of missing out on the merriment. Nevertheless, Lydia and Zac persist by awkwardly cutting their wedding cake. (Let’s go ahead and hide all sharp objects from the Plath brothers, alrighty?) The newlyweds then share a very awkward first dance.

Lydia and Barry do a father/daughter dance at the reception, during which Barry, who has given himself “a license to cry,” does exactly that. After Barry dries his tears, he and the rest of the wedding guests take to the dance floor grass with Lydia and Zac to twirl, spin and swing about, in a moment that we’ll refer to as the Hoedown Before the Showdown.

As some of the wedding guests head inside (presumably to thaw out or chug the mini bottles of liquor they’ve smuggled into the dry reception), Isaac and his girlfriend Kaylynn are stopped by a guest who tells the couple how much the Plath girls absolutely adore Kaylynn. The camera then cuts to a nearby couch where Micah and an (always) annoyed Veronica are hiding out sitting within earshot of this exchange.

“At least the cows like me…as long as I feed them.”

After Ethan successfully hot wires the vehicle in which Lydia and Zac are planning to ride off into the sunset darkness, wedding guests begin to gather for the couple’s sendoff. When Micah tries to convince Veronica to join them outside, Veronica stays seated on the couch and instead, offers a “goodbye” in the form of a limp wave.

While Veronica does eventually peel herself off of the furniture, she explains to viewers that she’s only getting up so that she can head back to her hotel– which is “three towns over”– in order to avoid participating in or baring witness to any of the Plath family’s “hillbilly activities.”

Lydia, girl, you better run if you don’t want that white wedding gown splattered in Plath Brother blood!

Lydia and Zac are chauffeured off by Ethan in his Chitty Chitty Bang Bang-esque car to go, well, chitty chitty BANG BANG (finally). Before that, though, Lydia tells viewers that she’s excited for her and Zac to “solidify this day with each other” on their wedding night…hint hint.

For those of you who ain’t so good at pickin’ up hints, Lydia’s talking about “doing the sex” with Ol’ Blue Suit.

The following day, cameras pick up (“three towns over”) at Veronica’s hotel, where she tells producers she went after the wedding because she was cold, tired and not down to get her hillbilly on.

Veronica says she texted Micah before going to sleep, but after not receiving a response, she checked his location and saw that he was not at the Plath family farm, but actually at a local hospital. She later explains that she received a text from Micah around 1 a.m. informing her that he was in the hospital getting stitches due to Isaac “attacking” him over her. Veronica says she doesn’t know how in the world she could’ve caused such a “ruckus” while being “three towns over.”

An hour later, Veronica books it to the scene of the (literal) crime while talking on the phone to Kim, who confirms that the incident the previous night left Micah’s face severely pummeled. After arriving at the Plath home, Veronica checks on Micah– who is sleeping on a random cot, which Veronica finds both “classless” and “tasteless”– before we finally get to see the aftermath of the Brother Brawl.

“Good morning to you, too, Veronica…”

Micah and his messed up mug tell viewers that he and Isaac got into after Lydia’s wedding because he told Isaac that he needed to respect Veronica. Micah says he initially thought that he and Isaac were just play fighting, but things quickly escalated. He then whips out his phone and forces one of the producers to check out a photo of his gnarled nose, despite said producer telling him they’d rather not see his freshly beaten face before it was stitched up at the hospital.

Wanna see Micah’s gruesome injury? Of course you do!

Meanwhile, Isaac claims that he and Micah both took a beating the previous night, though he agrees that Micah’s injuries were far more-severe.

In the aftermath of having his nose basically turned into hamburger meat by his little brother, Micah appears to have reconsidered his feelings for Veronica, telling viewers that he knows his girlfriend has disrespected nearly every member of his family. As a result of Veronica’s havoc-wreaking, Kim decides that a family discussion is much needed.

“Preferably without drawing any blood, thanks.”

Kim tells viewers that Veronica believes this family meeting is being called to discuss the physical altercation her sons got into the previous night, but in true Kim fashion, she’s planning to overlook that detail entirely (because boys will be boys, don’t ya know?) and instead, wants to focus on the toxicity Veronica has brought into their family and which ultimately caused the Plath brother punch-a-thon.

Before the family gathering goes down, Isaac and Micah come face-to-busted-face for the first time since their fight, where they exchange awkward looks and Isaac admits (to viewers, at least) that he feels guilty for messing up his model brother’s money maker.

“I’ll help you find a good prosthetic nose…and stuff.”

As Veronica gleefully uses one of Lydia’s wedding disposable cameras to snap pics the bloodied clothing and her busted boyfriend, people in the house admittedly avoid speaking to her, including Ethan and his girlfriend Teegan. Ethan tells viewers that he’s purposely not acknowledging Veronica because she accused Teegan the previous night of “doing p0rn” and doubled down on the claim when confronted about it.

Moments later, Kim sits down in the living room with Ethan, Teegan, Isaac, Kaylynn, Micah and Veronica and tells the group they need to talk about what’s going on in a calm manner while behaving “like seven adults.” Isaac kicks off the conversation by apologizing to Micah, which Veronica finds unacceptable, insisting that Isaac’s actions could’ve “killed” Micah.

“Agree with me, Micah, or I’ll finish what he started.”

While Micah laughs off Veronica’s comment, Kim interjects to tell the group it’s more important to focus on what caused the incident between Micah and Isaac, not the incident itself. (Um…?)

Ethan agrees with his mom, telling Veronica that Isaac already feels bad enough about mangling Micah. Kim proceeds to encourage the group to talk about what’s been “pent up inside.” According to Ethan, while “Isaac body slamming Micah” is what started the physical fight, a certain someone something fueled the altercation.

“I don’t wanna mention any names or anything…”

After approximately 2 seconds of hinting at what that “something” could be, Ethan calls out Veronica directly.

“I can’t believe they’re blaming me, but it is SO up their alley,” Veronica tells viewers. “Like, I just didn’t think this far of a stretch could happen, but it did. They have to deflect. This family is big into deflecting and they need to properly process their emotions, but they don’t. They put it on other people with blame and attacking people.”

Veronica argues to the group that she “didn’t control the arms” of Micah or Isaac and therefore didn’t cause the fight. Isaac agrees, but says that Veronica did “poke and prod” at him and Ethan by calling their girlfriends names. Ethan adds that Veronica’s actions also caused Isaac to lose respect for Micah, which he believes contributed to the post-wedding MMA fight.

Kim then jumps in to say that she heard about Veronica accusing Teegan of being on OnlyFans– or “doing p0rn,” as Veronica put it. Veronica stands by her claim and argues that Teegan has a history of lying, as she previously lied to the family about having a child. Veronica does, however, deny calling Teegan a slut.

“Get it right!”

As for the OnlyFans accusations, Teegan and the rest of the group demand that Veronica produce the alleged proof she has of its existence, but when pushed on the issue, Veronica reveals that she actually only saw “articles” mentioning Teegan’s supposed OnlyFans page. Ethan later tells viewers that these claims were found in “spam articles.”

The Veronica interrogation continues with Kim confronting Veronica about things she’s said about her behind her back, including that Kim “used” Veronica. Kim also claims that she used to talk to Veronica regularly, but at some point, Veronica stopped returning her calls and texts. Kim pulls up her phone to show the group that she’s telling the truth about being ghosted by her son’s girlfriend, proudly proclaiming that she keeps “receipts.”

“Especially now.”

After reading off a series of unreturned texts to Veronica, Kim tells viewers that she’s starting to see similarities between Veronica and Ethan’s ex-wife Olivia. Right on cue, Micah throws Veronica under the bus for also calling Kim a snake. A visibly offended Kim argues that trying to make accommodations for Veronica leading up to Lydia’s wedding doesn’t make her a snake and anyone who would accuse her of that has earned themselves a spot on her s**t list. (Presumably right under Olivia.)

“You’ve done it now, devil woman!”

Kim and Ethan continue to pile on Veronica but at some point, the focus switches to Micah, with Kim seemingly blaming her son for not sticking up for his family amid Veronica’s incessant Plath trash-talking. Micah tells his mom he was hoping to resolve the issues with Veronica privately, though he also reveals that the two have been going to therapy.

“…but now that you all know, I’d like to formally rejoin Team Plath if that’s cool with everyone.”

Micah tells his family he knows his relationship with Veronica is worse than the current state of his nose and he apologizes for not standing up for them to Veronica. Veronica then makes a final attempt to walk away from this confrontation with a win, reminding Ethan that he’s also said horrible things about Kim. Ethan insists that he only did that because he was with Olivia at the time.

Micah, who is folding like a lawn chair before our very eyes, then chimes in to let the group know that Veronica has befriended Olivia and is taking her side on all things anti-Plath.

“I guess that explains why she’s been too busy to respond to my texts.”

To the surprise of no one– except Kim, oddly– Veronica owns up to making nice with the Plath enemy and even declares Olivia to be a “good woman.”

That’s all for this episode!

  1. I don’t have any respect for that family but Veronica is seriously unhinged and just wanted fame though them, I honestly can’t understand a guest at wedding calling another partner a slut etc, her actions on social media and the show have been disgusting, it’s time for her to get cancelled in every way

  2. veronica is just a nasty evil mean girl–period–almost makes olivia look—well can’t make her look better–they were both just awful!!!

  3. I believe Veronica decided she didn’t want to participate in “hillbilly activities”. She’s so rude and obnoxious, the whole bit with her phone was priceless…hands it to the woman she’s accused of having an only fans page and says “find it”, after pretending she didn’t have her phone. And the sister that noped out of the “circle of truth”, she just turned around and walked away. And Ethan, he’s completely unhinged, it’s just a matter of before he’s on the short end of multiple restraining orders. It was car wreck TV but the bride did look beautiful and they seemed very happy.

  4. The family is nuts but somehow Veronica is crazier. She’s one of those people who gets off on drama. She stirs the pot and then watches the show. She’ll be like this no matter who she is with. She enjoys the public attention which is why she started her very own subreddit on the Plaths. You can see the smugness and bitchiness in her through her photos. Yuck.
