Netflix Announces New Competition Series Based on the Hasbro Board Game ‘Clue’: Get Details

Let the (board) games begin!

A new competition series is coming to Netflix that will see Hasbro’s famous mystery board game Clue brought to life.

The streamer is describing the upcoming series as a “real-life game of deduction and deception” where players will face physical and mental challenges.

“To win, they’ll have to outwit opponents and answer three big questions: who, where, and with what,” Netflix’s announcement states. “If the contestants guess correctly, they’ll add money to the prize pot, but if their suspicions are wrong, they could face elimination.”

The ‘Clue’ series will also see players crossing paths with familiar suspects from the original board game– like Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum and others.

“Viewers can expect suspense, surprises and plenty of red herrings,” Netflix adds.

Jeff Gaspin, V.P. of Unscripted Series for Netflix, assures that the ‘Clue’ competition series will be a show that will invite today’s viewers into the “iconic world” of the beloved board game.

“Like so many families and friends over the years, we’ve gathered around the table trying to figure out who did it– making ‘Clue’ a source of nostalgia that everyone shares,” Jeff said of the upcoming series. “Thanks to the incredible vision of our partners at Hasbro, IPC, and B17, we’re developing a fresh, imaginative whodunit competition that will invite today’s audiences into that iconic world.”

The announcement of the ‘Clue’ reality show comes months after Netflix announced a Willy Wonka competition series, The Golden Ticket, where players will have to “adapt and strategize” to maintain their place in Willy Wonka’s factory, according to Reality Tea.

Like ‘Clue,’ the Wonka-inspired series– set to premiere in 2026– will put participants through various games and tests. Casting for ‘The Golden Ticket’ is currently underway.

Additional details about the ‘Clue’ competition series will be released at a later date.
