After months of her family’s feud play out on 7 Little Johnstons, Emma Johnston has broken her silence about her relationship with her estranged sister, Anna, and her parents, Amber and Trent.
Last week, Emma posted a video to her TikTok about TV shows to watch, but the comments went in another direction, with many of her followers advising Emma to reconnect with her older sister and get away from her parents. Emma responded to some of the comments, revealing key insight into her current feelings about reconciling with Anna and how big of an influence her parents have on her life.
One commenter said, “Stop letting your mom control y’all’s life. Don’t let her ruin your relationship with your sister,” to which Emma replied, “I wish it were that easy to say but unfortunately not.”
Emma also commented that she is “trapped,” preventing her from making up with her sister, saying, “how am I supposed to?” Many fans took this as a dig at her mom, Amber, who fans kindly nicknamed “the warden” in the comments.

Another commenter urged Emma to “get out from under [her] mom’s control and be [her] own person.”
As The Ashley previously reported, Anna blames her parents for the rift between her and her siblings, specifically with Emma. In a TikTok video of her own, Anna called out Amber for preventing her siblings from talking to each other.
“My mother has stopped Emma and I from having a relationship,” Anna said earlier this month. “She has told her not to communicate with me, not to text me and not to post [on social media] about me. It has been told. What type of parent does that?!”
Despite the difficulty of trying to rebuild the relationship with Anna, especially while she’s under her parents’ roof, Emma confirmed that she wants to reconnect with her sister again.
“Stay friends with your sister [,] she needs you,” one person wrote, to which Emma replied, “I think I need her back” with the sobbing crying emoji.
As fans can recall, Emma and Anna used to have a very close relationship before distance grew between Anna and the rest of the family. Many fans have shown their support for Emma during this feud, commenting on more recent posts, “Sorry you are in the middle of this Emma. It’s not fair to you.”

During her rant on TikTok last week, Anna claimed that Emma did not want to film the scene that recently aired on “7 Little Johnstons” that showed her and her brother Alex meeting up with Anna to discuss the feud.
“We were texting on the side, hating it and not wanting to do it, but she had to,” Anna said of her and Emma. “She had to do it for filming. She did not agree with some of the things my parents did.”
“7 Little Johnstons” airs Tuesdays on TLC.

In past shows, Trent and Amber would consult a therapist in order to help arbitrate difficulties in the family. Why didn’t they do this with Anna and reconcile their differences? When Trent went over to Anna’s house to talk, his tone and words were accusatory from the get-go: how else was Anna to react? And in the grand scheme of life? Really Alex and Emma, was her absence from your graduation THAT significant? Are you telling me that your day was ruined?!! Come on, really, grow up! Show her pictures or videos and share the moment and get in with your lives as a family already. Now this has BLOWN WAY OUT OF PROPORTION and the parents are to blame for this fiasco and as far as im concerned, won’t watch anymore because now instead of admiring a family that navigates life’s hurdles, the hypocrisy and stupid reason of pathetic drama is souring and I don’t want to watch you play your seasonal games etc now it’s all fake to me CIAO
Those parents are so emotionally immature and disordered. Mistaking control and love.
I hope the younger kids are able to breakfree, I am sure the parents discourage their independence using all the tools available- money, conditional approval, religion etc.
They’re all adults. The only thing anyone can control in a situation they don’t create, is their reaction. People need to stop letting helicopter parents control the narrative and infantalize their grown ass children. They brought a lot in the neighborhood and offered it, for free, to their adult child, are you kidding me?!?! Amber and Trent have “issues”.
Trent & Amber is going to regret keeping Emma away from Anna. They are living in a delusional world to do this. What about when Jonah smoked spice or what ever it was. They forced him to go back home so they could order him to do certain things. Geez, if that are using the mistake that Anna did with the underage drinking, then they are very weak parents treating their kids that way. Liz, Brice, Alex and Emma are all good kids and to think they are putting those kids apart just blows my mind. I wish the show would get cancelled so they are forced to go work 40 hours a week. They have made a lot of money off the show already.
I really hope they can reunite. Both girls miss each other and both want a relationship. Amber’s controlling ways and Trent being her puppet is ruining any chance of relationships for Anna with anyone else in the family.
Amber has always treated Anna different and talks bad about her every season. It’s sad honestly. But it is so wrong for them to stand in the way of anyone that wants a relationship with Anna.
I feel for both Anna and Emma they we’re so close, Emma was always around Anna’s. No parents should stop siblings talking just cause the parents are in a feud with a sibling, what’s going on with amber, Trent and Anna should not involve the other siblings.
Amber and trents children are now young adults, amber and Trent have no right telling them who they can’t talk to.
The Johnson children are like the adults and the parents the children.
Amber is exactly like Kate gosling.
