‘Love Island USA’ Season 7 Contestant Yulissa Escobar Suffers Concussion After Being Attacked at Miami Taco Bell

“This isn’t what I meant when I ordered ‘beef.'”

Former Love Island USA contestant Yulissa Escobar is ringing in the new year while recovering from a concussion after allegedly being attacked at a Taco Bell in Miami Beach.

(Now that’s a sentence The Ashley never thought she’d have to type…)

According to TMZ, the Season 7 islander stopped by the fast-food establishment with a friend late Sunday after attending an event at LIV nightclub. In a police report taken by the Miami Beach Police Department, Yulissa claimed that while waiting for her order, she was approached by a man who began making “inappropriate remarks towards her.” While Yulissa informed cops that she ignored the comments being directed at her, a woman accompanying the man allegedly became angry and proceeded to strike Yulissa on her right cheek.

The tussle-happy Taco Bellers reportedly left the scene in a white Mercedes and, while Miami Beach Police are actively investigating the incident, no arrests have been made at this time.

Following the fast-food fight, Yulisssa went to the hospital to get her injuries checked out, where doctors informed her that she had suffered a concussion. She is currently resting at home and taking a hiatus from the Internet.

“I’m also taking a break from frequenting Taco Bells!”

Yulissa has set her Instagram to private in the wake of the attack.

According to TMZ, the incident has left Yulissa “walking in fear” and concerned for her safety, as she believes the attack may have been related to the backlash she received this summer shortly after the premiere of ‘Love Island USA’ Season 7.

“…but please feel free to forget the reason that I was removed from the Villa.”

As The Ashley previously reported, Yulissa made a swift exit prior to the second episode of the Peacock dating series after past racist comments she made on a podcast resurfaced on social media, including at least two clips in which she could be heard dropping the N-word several times.

Days after being booted from the show, Yulissa posted a lengthy statement to Instagram apologizing to the public for “using a word I had no right using,” while noting that she had used the racial slur on the podcast “years ago.”

“ … I used [the racial slur] ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it,” she wrote. “I wasn’t trying to be offensive or harmful, but I recognize now that intention doesn’t excuse impact. And the impact of that word is real. It’s tied to generations of trauma, and is not mine to use.”

Yulissa went on to insist that she was “speaking casually” on the podcast and not thinking about what she was saying; however, she acknowledged that it “doesn’t take away how wrong it was” and assured fans that while she didn’t know better at the time, she knows better now. She also vowed at the time to “move forward with humility and accountability.”

“To those who are disappointed or offended, I understand and I apologize. I am sorry,” she concluded.
