Kody Brown may have made (some) positive changes in the aftermath of the ex-wife apology tour he embarked on this season; however, it appears that the former polygamist continues to struggle when it comes to taking accountability for his actions.
In Access Hollywood’s sneak peek of Sunday’s Sister Wives Season 20 Tell-All, host Suki Krishnan brings up the topic of the Brown Family’s much-disputed Coyote Pass property, leading Kody to double down on his claim that his ex-wife Janelle attempted to push the sale forward behind the back of her former sister wife Meri.
In the clip, Meri– who is joined by her BFF Jenn Sullivan for this portion of the Tell-All– admits to Suki that she suspected Kody and Janelle had discussed selling the property without her, citing Janelle’s suspicious behavior as a major clue.

“ … there was a time that I said to Jenn, I’m like, ‘There’s probably something going on because Janelle’s not really talking about stuff, every time we have a conversation, she’s not bringing stuff up, she’s not,’” Meri recalls.
Meri goes on to claim that she didn’t confront Janelle about her suspicions because she didn’t trust Janelle at the time and doubted that Janelle would be honest with her about what was going on.
As for Kody, he maintains that Janelle was the brains behind the idea.
“Yeah, so Janelle’s like, ‘You can force the sale,’” he tells Suki, before then accusing Janelle of “really misrepresenting” what actually transpired between them and of “pressuring” him to go along with her alleged scheme.

“ … it wasn’t my idea,” Kody insists. “Janelle came to me with the idea, ‘You can force the sale on this,’ and then started pressuring me. Very typical plural marriage situation, it was like old times.
“It’s like, she’s pressuring me against the other wives [and saying], ‘We need to sell, you need to make those other women come into compliance,’” he continues.
Kody tells Suki that he told Janelle she could be the one to contact Meri and “talk her into” the deal that was on the table at the time, but Janelle “wouldn’t do that,” causing them to be “completely stuck.” Kody claims that this is when Janelle came up with the idea to offload the property behind Meri’s back and to have Kody “pay [Meri] later.”
“That was a temptation only for a moment,” he admits.

While Kody also admits that this proposed idea was “backstabby” of Janelle, he denies doing any backstabbing himself, insisting that he “was already at war with Meri” at the time and seemingly didn’t owe her his loyalty.
“I wasn’t partnering with Meri [or] telling Meri that, ‘Oh, I’m going to protect your interest, Meri,’” he says. “I mean, I wasn’t sitting there sucking up to Meri all the time. Janelle didn’t care. Janelle just wanted to get her money, and I was like, you know what? If we lose the buyer, we lose the buyer.”
As if placing all of the blame on Janelle for the “backdoor deal” that never happened wasn’t bad enough, Kody then accuses Janelle of making similar demands throughout the entirety of their marriage.
“This was very normal for Janelle to come up to me and say, ‘I want this and I want this … and in fact, if you don’t do it, then I’m just going to do it myself,’” he claims.

As ‘Sister Wives’ fans may remember, Meri stated on an episode that aired in November that Kody blamed her for slowing down the process to sell Coyote Pass, before revealing that Kody also wanted her to sign a confidentiality agreement, which she refused to do.
When asked about this by producers, Kody claimed that when the Browns received their first offer on Coyote Pass, Janelle was worried they’d lose the buyer due to the lot division issue not being settled at the time. He then accused Janelle of “pushing” him to either comply with all of Meri’s wishes or force the sale of the property, while revealing that he nearly made this “backdoor deal” with Janelle to sell Coyote Pass without Meri or his wife Robyn’s knowledge.
Janelle seemed to confirm Kody’s initial claims (at least in part) during the episode in November, telling viewers that Kody informed her at one point that he could technically sell the property without Robyn or Meri’s consent.
Meanwhile, Kody claimed on the same episode that Robyn insisted at the time that she and Kody not “mess [Meri and Janelle] over” in the deal.

As The Ashley previously reported, the Browns were ultimately able to sell Coyote Pass for $1.5 million in April, with each party– Janelle, Meri, Kody and Robyn– receiving $375,000 from the sale.

Kody just wanted to get another season with his apology tour. None of them were believing him to begin with. And to Kody, go get your teeth fixed because the front ones look different than your other teeth. Use that money from the sale and go get your mouth worked on. Ya never know, you might like that… LOL… It’s hard to watch when you talk because you can tell from the camera’s view that you need to get the other ones done to match the front ones. I hope that there isn’t another season… This show is nothing short of being a stupid group of adults that chose that lifestyle, and now all of a sudden there is an apology tour.
Like anyone with a brain would believe Kody? As for Robyn, she wanted to hold on to that property and not sell it in the hopes that Meri and Janelle would not put up a fight. For sure Meri has never liked Janelle. We all get that. But Meri agreed to sister wives and placing her life out to the public. Kody is awful. That he thought he was multiplying love and not dividing it was ludicrous. And Robyn! I cannot recall her ever having the sister wives inside her first mansion. It was always outside and she sat meekly while Kody verbally berated the other women. What a biotch! Remember all her “non” tears over the sister wives sitting in rockers on her porch? Robyn and Kody have lied so much they keep their stories straight. Please put an end to it!
Sobbyn is a total liar, and Kootie believes everything she says. Sly and petty describe her much better than “shy and pretty.” 🤮
Those two are dumb and dumber, and can’t keep their lies straight. 💩
“Janelle didn’t care. Janelle just wanted to get her money”
Unless I missed something and they weren’t going to give Meri her fair share of the money, I don’t see why this warrants any real attention. Janelle and Meri had no friendship. They seemed to have gotten to a better place more recently, but at that time they had no relationship at all. I can understand Janelle needed her share of the money to move on with her life. She’s practical and she’s not a dishonest person by any stretch. So again, unless Janelle and Kody were planning to rob Meri of her share, I don’t see a problem.
I hope there’s not a lot of time wasted on this in the Tell All. There are real issues to discuss.
Sorry Janelle aint a saint lol I believe she tried to screw meri just like Kody.
I don’t believe his lies about Janelle, she isn’t that kind of person I know, after watching her all these years. Mari doesn’t get along with her so Kody played on that. AND I don’t for a minute Tobyn was that generous in worrying about the other women….. after watching her, I’ve also seen what she’s capable of.
Good grief my spell check is the worst!

What is the narcissists prayer again:
That didn’t happen.
And if it did, it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is, that’s not my fault.
And if it was, I didn’t mean it.
And if I did, you deserved it.
