TLC has released three new teasers to Instagram for Sunday’s Sister Wives tell-all, ramping up anticipation for the first part of the multi-part season 20 breakdown.
The latest post, shared this morning, shows Meri Brown and her best friend Jenn Sullivan sharing their reactions (or, in Meri’s case, non-reactions) to some scandalous bit of Brown family business.
“I can’t do or say my reaction on national TV,” Meri told host Suki Krishnan as she put on a happy face, explaining to her that, “It’s not appropriate, it will be bleeped out anyway so why bother?”
Jenn didn’t feel the same as her BFF, though, declaring, “Like, how f***ing dare they? That is so wrong. I’m so mad.”
As The Ashley previously reported, the tell-all dives into allegations that Janelle tried to talk Kody into a “backdoor deal” to sell Coyote Pass out from under Meri and also rehashes Meri’s more than decade-old catfishing scandal, so she and Jenn plenty to be upset about.
Late yesterday, TLC posted a longer teaser tackling Kody and Robyn’s relationships and the relationships between the former sister wives.
“Do you feel like Robyn is submissive?” Suki asked Meri and Jenn.
“I do and I think that works for Kody, that’s what he wants – follow the rules, do what I say, don’t get out of line,” Jenn said. “I’m sure there are times when she pushes back or stands up for herself, I’m sure there is, but, ultimately, he wants submissive, he wants somebody who’s just going to kowtow to him.”
“He doesn’t want somebody who’s going to stand up and fight,” Meri replied.
The clip continues with interviews with Janelle responding to Kody and Robyn’s claims that she and Meri were playing ‘girl games’ against them.
“I don’t know what ‘girl games’ are, I know Meri and I were not doing anything other than just trying to just get a project done, and I think Kody puts a lot of store in the nuance that Robyn reads, but I’m not sure her nuance reading is always accurate, in fact I know it’s not,” Janelle said.
Suki asked if name calling might be part of the so-called ‘girl games,’ to which Janelle replied, “I don’t know if name calling, I mean he’s definitely called me lots of things in this negotiation, so is that a ‘girl game’ if he calls me names or he makes fun of me and says things? Maybe he’s playing ‘girl games’ too. I don’t know.”
The first teaser posted yesterday included discussions of some of the behavior that might be categorized as ‘girl games,’ with Janelle telling Suki of Kody and Robyn, “He always says, ‘I have this shy, pretty wife who won’t let me do these wrong things,’ or, ‘I have this, is heartbroken,’ I don’t remember what it was, but I heard the ‘shy, pretty,’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, OK, I have to say something.’”
In a separate interview, Kody offered his version of where the descriptions of Robyn as his “shy, pretty wife” came from.
“We’re trying to get Meri to agree to the agreements and I’m like, ‘Meri is not talking to me,’ and Janelle is like, ‘Well, why don’t you have Robyn call her?’ ‘Well, Robyn’s too shy to call Meri about stuff like this,’” he told Suki. “So Janelle gets on with Meri, ‘Oh, my wife is shy and she’s pretty, heh, heh, heh,’ and it’s just insulting.”
Kody also defended Robyn against charges from the former wives that she’s submissive, saying, “Robyn’s not submissive, she has a spine of concrete and steel. Robyn’s submissive?”
When Suki shared that that was the word Janelle used, Kody responded, “It’s funny that Janelle would say that Robyn’s submissive when Janelle has also accused Robyn of sort of brainwashing me or controlling me. It’s like, what is it Janelle? Am I Robyn’s puppet or is she mine? No, we’re a partnership, we negotiate through things.”

It’s interesting to me that Meri says Kody doesn’t want someone who has a backbone and stands up to him. Out of all 4 wives I would say that for many, many years Meri was Kody’s doormat. Kody said incredibly cruel things about Meri over and over again and Meri would sit at the reunion’s and watch how horribly he talked about her, how he had no interest in their relationship at all, how he would be just fine if she left. Meri responded for years with the whole “I’m loyal to Kody. When I married Kody it was for better or worse. He gave me a list of things to fix to have a relationship with him and I’ve done all of them so I will just pray and wait”.
Jenelle always struck me as the most independent. I think she preferred that Kody wasn’t at her house 24/7. I know she had left him previously. Christine was the one that seemed to push back to Kody the hardest. I never saw her back down and when he made it clear to her that they weren’t going to have an actual intimate relationship she left. Personally I would have left when he refused to be there for Ysabel’s surgery but that’s just me.
I think Meri is now able to look back at her life with Kody and the relationship she thought she had with Robyn and see it for what it was. They both used her in different ways. I saw Meri trying desperately to connect with Kody in any way she could and getting nothing but rejection and heartbreak back. I’m glad she has good friends and a life she loves now. All 3 ladies have done nothing but had a glow up in every way since leaving Kody.
What is hilarious to me is that Robyn is still sitting at home with Kody thinking she somehow won.🤣
“Meri would sit at the reunion’s and watch how horribly he talked about her”
She may have never found out his true feelings otherwise. That’s the thing that Kody still hasn’t admitted and apologized for and it’s really his biggest crime. He exhausted each of them with horrible disregard to make them leave, rather than simply being honest with them and letting them know he was no longer interested in playing house with them any more. That’s what he should have apologized for!
…every single one of them leaves. Admits they finally see how blatantly he twists truth, lies, and plays blame games to pit them against each other as a cover for himself when shit gets real.
…Continues to get sucked into it, every other chance they get.
I fully believe the truth is in the middle and Kody is twisting it all to stir the pot.
I don’t believe Janelle wanted to “screw meri”… I do believe Kody did. He’s only mentioned it like 900 times.
I do believe Janelle was pressuring them all to finalize the sale, as court filings say Robyn was the holdout, and she was in a bad position, needing her money back.
He just mashed it all together and painted one of them to be the villain, this time, Janelle.
Like, how many times do we have to watch him do this and succeed? He’s not even good at hiding it.
