More than two years after the death of his wife, Anna Cardwell, Eldridge Toney is preparing to welcome his first child with fiancée Jessie English.
Eldridge– who was married to the Mama June: Family Crisis star at the time of her death in December 2023 at the age of 29– shared his and Jessie’s baby news Sunday on social media, along with a photo of a positive pregnancy test, a series of sonogram images and a “baby bear” onesie.
“We are happy to announce that we are expecting ,” Eldridge wrote.
Jessie posted a matching photo to her own Instagram page, noting in the caption that “Baby Toney” is due to arrive in September.
As The Ashley previously told you, Eldridge and Jessie went public with their relationship in July 2025. In the caption of a photo posted at the time of him, Jessie, Jessie’s daughter and Anna’s eldest daughter Kaitlyn, Eldridge called losing his wife “the hardest chapter” of his life, though he told fans he knows Anna would have wanted him to “keep living.”
The following month, Eldridge posted a video of Jessie and her daughter to social media, claiming in the caption that he believes Anna would have loved the two of them.
“Anna would love y’all and she would be glad that I found someone to take care of me the way you do,” he wrote. “I believe she sent y’all my way for a reason! Grief is not easy but having y’all around sure does help. I love y’all! Thank you for all you do! @jessie_english03 I love and miss you @annamarie35 #grief #movingforward #wetv.”
Eldridge went on to pop the question to Jessie on Christmas Day.
“Mrs. Toney has a nice RING to it!” Jessie posted on social media last month while showing off her engagement ring. “Our love story just got a new chapter! Eldridge Toney, I love you!”
As ‘Mama June: Family Crisis’ fans may remember, Eldridge and Anna began dating in 2017 and the two secretly tied the knot in March 2023 after Anna was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. While Eldridge helped Anna raise her daughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee, the couple did not have any children together.
Despite not being the biological father of Kylee nor Kaitlyn, Eldridge has remained in his stepdaughters’ lives following their mother’s death. (As fans know, Kylee went to live with her father, Michael Cardwell, after Anna died; while Michael battled with Anna’s mom, Mama June Shannon, over custody of Kaitlyn, with June eventually receiving full custody.)
While most of Anna’s family has yet to comment on Eldridge and Jessie’s baby news, Anna’s aunt Jo “Doe Doe” Shannon took to the comments on Eldridge’s post to congratulate the couple on their growing family.
“What a blessing,” she added.
