The Johnstons are back— and they’re bringing even more family drama than ever!
On Tuesday, TLC released the first trailer for the 17th season of 7 Little Johnstons, revealing that the upcoming episodes will focus around the wedding of Elizabeth Johnston and Brice Bolden. (As fans know, Elizabeth and Brice got married in November, but they had kept quiet about wedding planning on social media, as everything was being filmed for the show.)
This season will follow the family through the wedding planning process. The trailer teases fun stripper moments at Liz’s bachelorette party, as well as wedding dress shopping. In the trailer, Liz explains how nerve-wracking dress shopping is for a little person. This, of course, prompts Liz’s mother, Amber, to slip into her wedding dress to show the world it still fits her 27 years later.

This season is also gearing up to feature wedding tensions, with Liz wanting a quick turn-around from engagement to wedding. (For those who don’t know, Liz and Brice were only engaged for six months before getting married.)
The trailer teases tensions between Liz and dad Trent over holding the wedding ceremony on their Georgia property, with Trent musing, “That’s a lot of work.”

The family is in for a stressful wedding day. One episode will follow the day-of scramble when a rainstorm washes out the property, making wedding prep and the outdoor wedding celebrations even more difficult.
Trent’s mom, affectionately known as Nana, will play a pivotal role this season as viewers follow her health journey and how the family copes with her in hospice care before she passed away in October.
Fans were quick to notice a key person missing from the trailer: oldest Johnston daughter, Anna. It appears that Anna has made good on her promise to leave the show after last season. (As previously reported by The Ashley, Anna is estranged from her family, and the estrangement provided a big storyline for last season.)

Trent’s sister, Heidi, and her daughter, Ella, were also not featured in the trailer, which fans have speculated could be due to their maintained relationship with Anna, despite the rift between her and her parents. Anna, Heidi, and Ella have recently been on each other’s social media pages and even spent Valentine’s Day together.
Some fans are vocalizing their support for Anna by refusing to watch the new season.
“I hope this is the last season!” one fan commented. “The show is a snoozefest without Anna.”
“No Anna, then count me out this season,” another fan wrote. “I don’t want to watch homegirl wedding planning.”
Season 17 of “7 Little Johnstons” premieres on Tuesday, March 17 on TLC.
