The parents of 15-year-old Unexpected star Bella Vaughn are being called out for their questionable parenting (once again) after a clip from Monday’s episode of the TLC series showed the two allowing Bella and her 13-year-old baby daddy Hunter Johnson to shower together while they watched the young couple’s newborn baby in the next room.
In the clip, Bella’s mom, Falen Vaughn (very casually) asks Bella if Hunter is going to shower with her, to which Bella tells her, “yeah.” Hunter then follows Bella into the bathroom and tells her to “shut the door,” all while Bella’s dad, Kris Vaughn, and Falen remain outside of the bathroom and Kris tends to Bella and Hunter’s son, Wes.
“My parents definitely know what we do behind closed doors,” Bella says in a confessional. “[Hunter’s mom] Stacy does too, but my dad definitely doesn’t wanna hear about it.”
As the clip goes on, Kris tells viewers that while he loves his grandson, he’s hoping that Bella and Hunter (who was just 12 years old when Wes was conceived) will graduate from high school before welcoming a second “whoops” child.
“ … the one thing that would cause me to lose my mind and really get pissed off would be if there’s another kid that pops up before these two get out of high school and get their lives started, cause we’re trying to do everything we can to help them and not let this hold them back,” Kris says. “But if they have a second ‘whoops,’ they’re gonna be in trouble.”
Fans on social media likely pulled a muscle sprinting soon took to the comments to sound off on Falen and Kris allowing their teen daughter and her (even younger) teen boyfriend to shower together in their home, with many people questioning what the two were thinking.
“Uuummmmm!! What?! I was a teen mom. Speaking from experience WTAF?!” one person wrote, with another asking, “Why are y’all letting them shower together? wtf.”
In addition to the multiple comments from viewers stressing that Bella and Hunter practice safe sex to avoid another teenage pregnancy, many fans called out Kris and Falen for seemingly encouraging Bella and Hunter’s behavior.
“Step 1. Don’t hold the baby while they shower together. Lots of other steps in there but if you don’t want baby number 2 don’t help them make it!” one comment read.
“Dad says, ‘they are gonna be in trouble’ if a second baby happens,” another viewer wrote. “What’s he gone do…rock that one too?”
“They letting them shower together???” another viewer on Facebook asked. “This family is so weird. Like you can’t stop kids from doing what they gonna do but making it easy for them and encouraging it is extra weird.”
This week’s jaw-dropping scene comes just a week after viewers were left gobsmacked (and highly disturbed) by Bella discussing on-camera how Hunter wanted to have “butt sex” to avoid another pregnancy, as Bella allegedly “refuses” to get on birth control due to the “stupid” side effects. More disturbingly, Bella made these “butt sex” comments in the presence of her parents, who seemed completely unfazed, with Falen in particular even giggling over her daughter’s remarks.
As fans of ‘Unexpected’ know, Kris and Falen’s older daughter, Emi Vaughn, is also a teen mom, having welcomed a daughter just weeks after Bella. Since Season 7 of ‘Unexpected’ began airing, the Vaughns have received a fair share of scrutiny from fans, leading Bella and her parents to take to TikTok Live several times in an effort to defend themselves.
In one of those rants, Bella came to her parents’ defense, insisting that Falen and Kris are “great parents” who did what they could to prevent her from becoming a teen mom.
“They have done everything for me,” she said. “They support, they take care of me, they help me take care of my kid because I am a teen. I can’t do every single thing right now, but they support me in every single way.”
Bella also argued that it wasn’t her parents’ fault that she got pregnant at 14, claiming she “knew right from wrong” and was aware that she was “doing wrong.”
“It’s not a parenting issue when a teen gets pregnant always … ,” she added.

The “butt sex” comments last week left me horrified. That couch would’ve been flipped if one of my kids talked like that, and mom and dad just sat there! Didn’t say a word. I felt like they were thinking, “well, he’s got a point.” YUCK YUCK YUCK!! Mia’s dad is the only one with any sense.
wtf is wrong with these people. Absolutely disgusting.
These trashbags are ridiculous fame-chasers. They should not be on TV. They should be in family court.
It just keeps getting worse! The adults act like those two are a grown, married couple instead of very young teenagers and it’s disturbing.
Those people are grooming Hunter. CPS needs to get involved
