More audio of phone calls made from jail by Joseph Duggar to his wife Kendra have been released, in which the Counting On stars can be heard talking about the effects Joe’s arrest earlier this month has had on her health, as well as how the rest of Joe’s family feels about him now that he’s been charged with child molestation.
Audio released by the Washington County Jail in Arkansas (via FOIA request) features Kendra informing her husband (who was in jail in Arkansas at the time of the call, but was later transferred to Florida before bonding out on Tuesday) that she had to use intravenous nutrition to keep her strength up and that she can barely walk.
She also revealed how she’s leaned on the Duggar Family since Joe’s arrest. (As The Ashley previously reported, Kendra was charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment. Joe received the same charges as Kendra but was already in jail at the time.)
“I haven’t been able to eat,” Kendra tells Joe.
“…I can hardly walk; I get winded because I’m so weak,” she says during another part of a call. “… I actually did get to sneak over and get an IV before stuff happened and that probably sustained me good.”
Joe tells Kendra that his stomach “isn’t always settled” since he’s been in jail, but mentions that he’s trying to avoid processed foods and breads while he’s in there.
“I’m trying not to eat junk,” he tells Kendra before joking that he hopes to “trim up some” while behind bars.
Kendra reveals that she, too, is also losing weight, due to the stress and not being able to eat.
“I haven’t gotten on the scale, but I feel a lot trimmer now!” she jokes. “I’m definitely not bloated either! I’m gonna be a Skinny Minnie!”
Kendra then tells Joe that his mom Michelle (whom she calls “Mama”) is trying to get her to eat.
“She’s like, ‘You need to eat!’ and I’m like, ‘I will try!’ but unless it’s liquid it doesn’t really go down,” Kendra said. “It’s been a battle. They said I’ve got to be well to take care of all these decisions and everything.”
Joe encourages Kendra to “listen to Mama.”
Interestingly, Kendra did not mention her own parents or family during the call, but stated that the Duggars have been a “crazy great support network” for her.
“I’m really well taken care of,” she assures Joe. “Sometimes I just start crying ’cause I know God’s been so good. I’ve been writing things down that I’m thankful for.”
TMZ posted the audio of another call in which Kendra assures Joe that his family is supporting him, even though they’re unhappy about what he’s allegedly done.
“Just know that everybody loves you,” Kendra tells him. “Even if they’re disappointed.”
Joe tells his wife that he completely understands that his family would be disappointed in his alleged actions (which include him allegedly molesting a nine-year-old while on vacation in Florida in 2020). However, Joe stated that he is feeling the love of his family.
“We’re just gonna trust that God is gonna get us through, one day at a time,” Kendra replies.
In the call audio, Joe asks how their four kids are doing, but Kendra acknowledges that she doesn’t really know. (As The Ashley previously reported, one of the conditions of Kendra being released from jail earlier this month was that she has no contact with the victims of her alleged crimes.)
“From what I hear they are doing good,” she tells Joe.
In another call released by Radar Online, Kendra breaks down, informing Joe that the kids— not him— have to be her priority.

“I feel like I can’t be there as much for you right now. I have my own battles that I’m dealing with,” Kendra tells him tearfully. “My priorities are the kids, and that’s the only thing I am able to focus on. I’m going to try to take your calls, but I have to do anything and everything for the kids right now, and for myself, because I’m not well.”
Kendra then reveals that people have been brought in to “coach” her and help her deal with everything surrounding the arrests.
“My coaches here are saying, ‘Make sure you take care of yourself so that you can make good decisions for the kids.’ So, I’m doing that,” she said. “So, I don’t know how to be there for you.”
Joe assured her that he’ll be fine and that “the kids need you.”
“I appreciate you taking my calls, because that is very encouraging to me, just to hear your voice,” he tells her. “I think about your sweet laugh all the time.”
Kendra gets even more choked up after hearing that, telling Joe that she doesn’t have her laugh right now.
“…The fact that I have the strength to stand every day is a miracle,” Kendra says through sobs.
In another part of a call, Joe tells his wife that he’s been sleeping on a thin jail mat, and Kendra expresses how sad she is for him.
“Oh, baby, I’m just so sorry,” she says. “I love you! We’ll see where God takes us through all of this. Hopefully we come out stronger, you know?”
Joe assures his wife that they will come out stronger.
“It’s a good place to be. Being dependent on God is always a good thing…that’s one of the promises I’m holding to: God’s gonna be there,” Joe said.
As The Ashley previously reported, Kendra and Joe are both due back in court on April 29 to answer for their child endangerment/false imprisonment charges in Arkansas. They are not permitted to have any contact with the victims until at least that date. In addition, Joe is banned from having any unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18 while out on bond.

I’m not a religious person but the way they use God makes me sick. 100% positive God is not sitting up there cheering for child molesters or their stupid wives. Kendra and Anna are complicit in their perverted husband’s actions. Period.

How the hell can these women stand by men that they know for a fact did heinous crimes like that? I’d cease contact, empty the bank account, and file for divorce ASAP, not have a sympathetic phone call.
