Kyle Cooke is coming to the defense of his ex-wife Amanda Batula, days after Amanda confirmed that she’s in a relationship with their Summer House co-star West Wilson.
In a three-part video posted by Adam Glyn this week, Kyle was asked about his ex’s new romance while out walking his dogs in New York City. In one of the clips posted to social media, Kyle said that while he received a “heads up” from Amanda prior to her and West dropping their joint-statement this week, he’s still figuring out the timeline of when the two actually became romantically involved.
Despite not knowing all of the details at this time, the DJ went on to express concern for Amanda’s well-being, as she’s allegedly “getting cyberbullied” by fans on social media.
“I understand people have all sorts of opinions, and I’m not justifying any behavior, but from what I’m seeing, she’s kind of getting cyber-bullied … ,” he said, adding that he’s “really worried” about Amanda.
As The Ashley told you on Tuesday, after weeks of speculation, Amanda– who announced her split from Kyle in January after four years of marriage– and West– who previously dated ‘Summer House’ co-star/Amanda’s friend Ciara Miller– confirmed that they are in a “very new” relationship.

The news of the ‘Summer House’ partner swap shocked not only Bravo fans, but also the ‘Summer House’ cast, who, according to Page Six, are both “pissed” and “disappointed” in the new couple.
Kyle confirmed that he and Ciara have “been in touch” throughout the week, and revealed that he had also heard from West, via “some half-assed text message.” Though Kyle admitted that he’s “frustrated” and “obviously disappointed in [Amanda],” he urged fans to “maybe let off the gas a little bit with the cyberbullying and hate.”
“ … what she did was wrong and she’s just trying to come to terms with it, but she is not well,” he said.
Kyle also went on to remind fans that Amanda is someone who “deals with mental health issues,” after pointing out that West seems to be gaining new followers in the wake of his and Amanda’s announcement, while fans appear to be “just lighting up Amanda” with hate.
“ … before cyberbullying her and then giving West a follow, maybe think twice,” Kyle said.
While Kyle expressed doubt about the Amanda and West rumor just weeks ago on Watch What Happens Live, he claimed this week that he’s now “trying to give everybody the benefit of the doubt.” Still, he admitted that the news has been a “mindf**k,” especially as Season 10 of ‘Summer House’ continues to play out on TV.
“ … it’s gonna make me look at my summer through a different lens, for sure,” he said.
Kyle went on to predict that the timeline of his and Amanda’s separation (as the two are still legally married) and the timeline of Amanda and West’s romance will be talked about when the cast films the ‘Summer House’ Season 10 Reunion later this month; however, he insisted that his focus remains on Amanda at this time.
“Right now, I’m just honestly more concerned about Amanda’s mental health than I am trying to get to the bottom of it, because I am worried about her,” he said. “I don’t think West is in a place to, like, offer her what she needs. I’ve been caring and providing for her for 10 years, so it’s a weird position to find myself in.”
New episodes of ‘Summer House’ air Tuesdays on Bravo.
