Amanda Conner is catching a lot of flak for her decision to jazz up the electronic monitoring device she’s been court-ordered to wear on her ankle.
Amanda— who is the wife of ‘Teen Mom’ star Ryan Edwards— has been sporting the “accessory” since she was arrested last month for DUI and child abuse. Amanda later admitted to relapsing on drugs, and has since been showing off her ankle monitor on social media. Her recent attempt to decorate the monitor by applying rhinestone jewels to it has been met with a lot of criticism, with many fans telling her to “grow up.”

As The Ashley previously reported, Amanda was arrested on May 24 after Ryan called the police and reported that Amanda was driving under the influence while their daughter Presley was in the car. Ryan told the cops that Amanda drove away after he tried to get her to take a drug test. Police tracked her down eventually, but Amanda refused to submit to a test, causing her to receive a charge of violating the Implied Consent law in Tennessee. Because Presley was in the car, she received the child abuse/neglect charge, in addition to a DUI charge and a traffic violation.
Amanda was ordered to wear the electronic monitoring device until at least her court date in August, but her attempt to fancy it up a bit did not go over well with fans.
“I wouldn’t be so proud of that ankle monitor,” one person wrote in the comment section of Amanda’s Facebook post. “You are a mother of 2…it is time to start growing up…there’s nothing amusing about it….your showing how immature you really are.”
“That isn’t cute or funny,” another person wrote on Facebook.
Amanda also posted the photo to her Instagram account, where she was met with even more criticism. Some fans felt that Amanda has not been taking her charges seriously.
“If I was a mom and had an ankle bracelet on, I would be so ashamed and embarrassed,” one person commented. “Not posting it for the world to see.”
“This isn’t something to be proud of!” another person wrote.
“This isn’t the flex you think it is,” someone else commented.
Amanda’s attempt to spruce up her government “jewelry” did get a few positive comments, with one person even calling her “beacon of light and a beautiful example to others in recovery.”
Amanda posted a video of her wearing her rhinestoned ankle bracelet on June 29, prompting a plethora of negative comments.

“I actually kinda side with bedazzlling an ankle monitor as disrespectful,” someone wrote in that post’s comment section. “Like you give zero F’s and this is a joke. Just my take.”
“Mocking her punishment is insulting to the people around her whose lives she’s destroying along with her own. So trashy!” one person added.
While some fans were surprised to see Amanda decorating her ankle monitor, one look on TikTok shows that it’s actually a trend to zhoosh up these devices.
Amanda has yet to respond to any of the negative comments. She is due in court to face her charges on August 12.

Nobody wants to be drug addict. Nobody. She’s admitted her slip and mistakes.
People saying she’s flaunting. Why? It’s bc they’re following her they see it.
Everything she does is plastered all over the internet. She doesn’t have the luxury of privacy like everyone else.
If she was still doing stuff and messing up then that’d be one thing. She’s not, though. She’s trying to get it together and it’s still not good enough for these judging fans.
Her husband was on a show when he had his son. That son is now grown.
So, people need to let it go. Stop giving them screen time if you’re so bothered by them.

If she had left the house without her child she wouldn’t be in the amount of trouble she’s in and maybe he wouldn’t have even called to report her who knows but she knew she was doing drugs and chose to take her daughter with her that night instead of just leaving her with the dad who I guess is sober or was that night at least so she’s messing up already with this child and it’s sad
Yeah they’re gonna make her pay for the whole unit when she gets it off. There’s no way that bedazzling it is allowed. They make you pay the whole time to have it on too. Unfortunately I have personal experience with an alcohol tether and I was always paranoid getting any chemicals and excessive moisture near it for fear of false positives or damaging the unit. So bedazzling it is just crazy work, she seems extremely committed to not following the rules. Gril thinks she’s Lindsay Lohan circa 2007.

She said she messed up. She’s paying for it. She’s an addict. There will be slip ups. Nobody is perfect. It’s more the point she didn’t keep fighting and going. She admitted she slipped. That’s all you can do. Nobody grows up wanting to become an addict. It’s not always black and white. Compassion seems to be harder

Fun fact when I looked up Amanda’s appearance on Jerry Springer. She was arrested afterwards for stealing jewelry from someone sitting in front of her on the flight home. Can’t make that level of trash behavior.
