Andy Cohen Apologizes for Past Dig at Julia Stiles’ Dance Skills Following Her Strong Debut on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

“It’s me! I’m the jackhole!”

Andy Cohen has no problem admitting when he’s wrong.

On Wednesday’s Watch What Happens Live, the host took a moment at the show’s end to name himself the day’s Jackhole for a nasty comment he’d made last year on his SiriusXM show regarding Julia Stiles‘ dancing skills.

“Can we all just agree that Julia Stiles is not the greatest dancer on the planet?” he said last year on Radio Andy.

Following Julia’s strong debut earlier in the evening on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ Andy was eager to take back his 2025 dig and even throw a little shade back at himself.

“Julia Stiles, I am so sorry. I am the last person who should be giving anyone feedback on their dancing,” the host said, before playing a video of himself dancing in the stands at a Dead & Company show. (Andy is a Grateful Dead fanatic and is best friends with Dead & Company guitarist John Mayer.)

“Great job, Julia Stiles,” Andy continued. “You killed it tonight; you did amazing tonight. I know you’re going to have a great run and this diva gives all of you permission to flood my inbox with the 10 things you hate about me.”

Before Andy issued his apology, Julia had mentioned that the Bravo chief’s 2025 comment about her poor dancing skills has stuck with her.

“Like, Andy Cohen, do you know … ,” she asked her dance partner Ezra Sosa.

“Yes, that diva,” he replied.

“[His] quote is imprinted in my brain,” Julia shared.

For their debut on the competition series, Julia and Ezra danced the quickstep to the Dolly Parton classic ‘9 to 5’ and were awarded 18 out of 30 from the show’s judges. (That score placed them in the middle of the pack and allows them to move on in the competition.)

“Andy Cohen, you can eat it,” judge Derek Hough screamed at the camera following Julia and Ezra’s dance.

Julia has yet to comment on Andy’s apology but she and Ezra did talk with ExtraTV about his original criticism in a post-dance interview.

“I definitely feel like when it comes to stuff like that, you put it out there on the dance floor and that’s exactly what she did,” Ezra said.

“He probably never thought that I would hear it,” she said. “He’s a nice guy; he was just making a joke. It was just kind of a cheap joke and so it motivated me.”

“And look where we are,” Ezra replied.

“Andy, Mr. Andy Cohen, respect, no hard feelings, you’re welcome to come to the ballroom and thank you for the motivation,” Julia said.

“And we’ll get you a front-row seat to quality dancing, darling,” Ezra added.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ airs Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+.
