‘Sister Wives’ star Janelle Brown is fully embracing her new relationship with boyfriend Pete Lahowin, while subtly shading ex-husband Kody in the process.
On Thursday, Janelle took to social media to post a sweet video of herself and Pete, exactly one month after the two debuted their relationship on Instagram.
In the video, Janelle showed off a huge smile while sitting in the passenger seat of a car that was being driven by Pete. The mom of six called the post a nod to her “passenger princess era,” while telling fans she’s not sure if she’s “ever been [a passenger princess] before,” but that she could get used to it.
“Pete drives, he opens my car door, and he makes sure I’m taken care of,” she captioned the video. “He spoils me in lots of old-fashioned ways. I could get used to this.”
After receiving a heap of comments from fans pointing out her partner upgrade, Janelle assured inquiring minds that, unlike her ex-husband, Pete “gives [her] the luggage rack.”
“For all of those asking,” she added. “I’ve never had someone watch out for and take care of me like he does.”
As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ may remember, Janelle and Christine Brown revealed during Season 19 of their family’s TLC series that throughout their respective marriages to Kody, Kody always snagged the luggage rack in hotels, leaving them to unpack their belongings from the comforts of the floor.
While Janelle and Christine both laughed about the situation during the episode, they also commended Christine’s second husband, David Woolley, for always putting his wife’s suitcase on the luggage rack when traveling.
“He’s a gentleman,” Christine said of David’s seemingly simple act.
When reflecting on the scene at the Season 19 One-on-One, Janelle explained to host Suki Krishnan that the situation with the luggage rack was more of a “symbolic thing” in her marriage.
“It’s just a token of who [Kody] is and how he thinks,” she said.
As mentioned above, Janelle surprised fans last month by dropping a photo of her and Pete to Instagram, along with a caption confirming that the two are in a relationship– her first since splitting from Kody in 2022.
“Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared,” Janelle wrote. “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed. And it has been pretty wonderful. Everyone please meet Pete.”
Hours after Janelle hard-launched her pairing with Pete, Christine popped up in the comments to let fans know that Pete had received her stamp of approval.
“He’s such an awesome guy!!” Christine wrote. “They are so cute together and he’s a construction worker like David!!”
Fans can expect to see the beginning of Janelle and Pete’s relationship unfold on the upcoming season of ‘Sister Wives,’ as Pete is seen multiple times in the newly released trailer.
Season 21 of ‘Sister Wives’– on which Kody and wife Robyn will not be appearing– premieres Sunday, October 4 on TLC.
