Another one of Kody Brown’s former wives is off the market! 

On Tuesday, Janelle Brown surprised ‘Sister Wives’ fans by debuting her new relationship with boyfriend Pete Lahowin on social media. 

“Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared,” Janelle wrote. “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed. And it has been pretty wonderful. Everyone please meet Pete.”

As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ know, Kody’s first three wives, Christine, Janelle and Meri, ended their unions with Kody in 2021, 2022 and 2023, respectively, leaving Kody’s fourth wife Robyn as the only Mrs. Brown standing. 

While Christine went on to remarry in 2023– tying the knot with husband David Woolley– and Meri has explored dating both on- and off-camera, this is believed to be the first post-Kody relationship for Janelle. In fact, when discussing her future plans with People in 2023, Janelle insisted that she did not want to date anytime soon, noting that she would maybe consider the idea “in 10 years.” 

Janelle– who relocated from Arizona to North Carolina shortly after splitting from Kody– has yet to reveal how she and Pete met; however, last season on ‘Sister Wives,’ she told viewers that they would never see her on a dating app, so we can presume that she and Pete did not connect virtually. 

One thing we do know is that the new man in Janelle’s life has already received the stamp of approval from Christine. 

“He’s such an awesome guy!!” Christine commented on Janelle’s Instagram post. “They are so cute together and he’s a construction worker like David!!”  

Even Suki Krishnan— the host of the recent ‘Sister Wives’ Reunions— expressed how thrilled she is that Janelle has a beau.

“Janelle. This is amazing!” she wrote in the comment section of the post. “So happy for you.”

From what The Ashley can tell, Pete has connections to Las Vegas and has at least one daughter of his own.

During the Season 19 Tell-All, Janelle hinted at the possibility of finding another romantic partner in the future. She made this comment after referring to herself as “a very sexual being” and assuring fans that’s she’s “not asexual,” as Kody sometimes implied on the show. 

“The hormones are hell when you’re single, but you know, it’s like, you just deal with it or whatever,” Janelle told host Suki Krishnan. “I suspect that someday down the road, if there’s somebody else, then that will be a part of it.”  

The previous season, Janelle claimed that, despite her and Kody’s marital issues, there was “definitely physical compatibility” between them. She also noted that, while she tended to keep the details of her and Kody’s sex life under wraps over the years, it wasn’t because either party was dissatisfied. 

“I’m not someone who goes around blabbing about that,” Janelle explained. “That’s not me, I don’t talk about that stuff. I’ll hint at it but yes, of course, everything was very good in that department.” 

As you may recall, before hitching her wagon to Kody (and Meri), Janelle was briefly married to Adam Barber, who happened to be Meri’s brother. Despite her first two marriages coming to an end, Janelle claimed in 2023 that she would “actually consider a plural marriage” again, as the freedom and independence it provided “was a good fit” for her.

Despite Janelle’s past comments, it’s unknown at this time if her boyfriend Pete is– or ever was– a polygamist.
