Meri Brown has updated her relationship status to “single.” 

As The Ashley told you last month, the Sister Wives star revealed on social media that she was in a relationship with a man named Amos Andrews, whom she had been dating since October.

However, Meri announced this week during her weekly “Fridays with Friends” Instagram Live session that she and Amos recently parted ways. 

The former (and OG) Mrs. Kody Brown also took to Facebook over the weekend, revealing that after facing some “hard truths” and having “some difficult conversations,” her relationship with Amos had come to an end. 

“Just because I care a lot about someone, and him me, does not equate to full compatibility for a long-term relationship,” she wrote. “When we have different dreams and aspirations, different communication styles and values, different visions for our future, and these things aren’t aligning, it’s then that we need to make hard decisions. 

 

“It’s a strange and sad thing to care about someone so deeply, to look beyond their past, because heaven knows we all have one, to see the kindness in their eyes and their giving heart, and still know that a life long relationship isn’t in the cards for you,” she continued. “It’s only in the dating process that you can come to these realizations, that’s what living and dating is all about.” 

Meri said although she plans to “dip [her] toes into this process again,” she is grateful for what she learned from her time with Amos and remains “confident” in herself as a single lady. 

“For now, I’ll continue to look into my future with the hope of new opportunities and the confidence of continued growth,” she added. “This is a time in my life to prioritize me, my well-being, and my personal evolution, and I look forward to more adventures and experiences on this journey we call life!” 

Shortly after Meri hard-launched her new man last month, several news outlets began reporting on Amos’ romantic and financial history, including the fact that he had been married and divorced at least four times. 

It was also revealed by The Sun that Amos had filed for bankruptcy at least once, and that, according to one of his ex-wives, he was “fan-girl obsessed” with reality TV stars in his past. 

While addressing several of the topics on Instagram Live last month with Amos and her BFF Jen Sullivan, Meri appeared unbothered by her man’s past, both financial and marital. Jen backed her bestie’s claims, telling viewers that Amos had been honest with Meri about his past so there would be no surprises for her. 

“I think it was the second time we talked,” Meri claimed. “He was like, ‘Yeah, I’m a really private person.’ I’m like, ‘Really?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah. I’m not on social media. I’m a really private person. I don’t let a lot of people into my life.’”

At the time, Jen cautioned Amos that by dating Meri, he should be prepared to be “exposed” in the media and online. Still, Meri insisted she wasn’t concerned about any skeletons Amos had in his closet. 

“It doesn’t matter what happened to you in the past, who you are now is what matters and how you act on it,” she told him. 

This was Meri’s first public relationship since she officially split from Kody last year. As ‘Sister Wives’ fans know, the wetbar enthusiast and her polygamous husband announced on social media in January 2023 that they had decided to “permanently terminate” their marriage of more than 33 years. 

‘Sister Wives’ fans have known that Meri and Kody’s marriage has been over for years. Meri seemed determined to hold on, though, despite Kody making it very clear that he didn’t consider himself married to Meri anymore and even encouraged her to find another man to be with. Kody and Meri were legally married from 1990 until 2014, when Meri divorced Kody so he could marry his fourth wife, Robyn.)
