‘The Bachelor’ to Have Float in New Year’s Day Rose Parade

A show that revolves around roses…a parade that revolves around roses…it was only a matter of time before these two things joined forces.

The Tournament of Roses Parade, which has been a New Year’s Day staple for 126 years, will honor The Bachelor with its own float in the upcoming 2015 parade! The show, which uses the red rose to signify life, love and the ability to continue to chase after a guy you probably don’t even like anyway, has never been featured in the parade before.

According to a press release put out by ABC, ‘Bachelor’ host Chris Harrison, as well as upcoming ‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules will be riding on the ‘Bachelor’ float on January 1. The parade will be televised on numerous stations, including ABC, which runs ‘The Bachelor’ franchise shows.

This year’s Rose Parade will have the theme of “Inspired Dreams,” so, naturally, some of the successful couples from the show will be riding on the float. (After the disastrous Juan Pablo season, the show’s producers are trying to remind people that the show can, indeed, work as it’s supposed to.)

So who will be paraded down the streets of Pasadena, California? Naturally, Trista and Ryan Sutter will be up there, waving and smiling. (The franchise never misses a chance to wheel those two out!) Jason and Molly Mesnick will also be there, as will Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried. (Des and Chris are set to be married in January, by the way, but…no one really cares.) There will also be random folks from Bachelor in Paradise logging parade hours. Marquel Martin and Sarah Herron have reportedly secured a spot on the float as well.

Shockingly, franchise alum Erica Rose was not asked to be on the float.

As for the float’s design, expect it to be just as corny as the show itself.

“The float will feature quintessential Bachelor symbols – champagne flutes, the Bachelor mansion façade, a hot tub, sculptured wedding bands and hearts – covered in thousands of roses of different varieties, along with a multitude of other types of flowers and seeds,” the press release said.

They will also be incorporating nods to upcoming ‘Prince Farming’ Bachelor Chris Soules on the float.

“Corn husks, harvested straight from Chris Soules’ Iowa farm, will be incorporated into the float design,” the press release promised.

The float will be called “Inspiring Love” and will be modeled to look like the ‘Bachelor’ mansion.

“‘Inspiring Love’ is set amid floral garden displays of 25,000 red roses and against the backdrop of the Mediterranean arch walls of the Bachelor mansion in Los Angeles, home base for ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette,'” the press release said. “Chris Soules will stand upon a wrought iron balcony beside a silver tray laden with roses. Floral champagne bottles flank the garden balcony with sculpted urns overflowing with red roses, framing the float. Chris Harrison and his children will helm the front of the float.”

You can catch all of the love, roses and cheesy Trista Sutter grins starting at the buttcrack of dawn on January 1.

  1. I am ashamed to say I watch this show, I look forward to crazy hussies drinking their way into love. My dream is an all-star season with Courtney, Tierra and stand-up guy Juan Pablo.
