Former ‘Buckwild’ Star Salwa Amin Gets Arrested Right After Welcoming First Child

Buckwild and busted…again!

Salwa Amin may be a mom now, but that apparently isn’t stopping her from getting ‘Buckwild!’

Last week, the former Buckwild star was arrested in Florida for an outstanding arrest warrant in her home state of Virginia. TMZ reported that Salwa is “facing multiple charges, including conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and possession of cannabis with intent to distribute.”

The arrest comes just weeks after Salwa welcomed her first child, a daughter named Nahla.

The Ashley can confirm that, nearly a week after her arrest, Salwa is still behind bars in Orange County, Florida.

Starcasm is speculating that Salwa was probably originally approached by law enforcement officials while she was pregnant, but was allowed to turn herself in after giving birth to her daughter. The site broke down online court records concerning Salwa’s case.

“[The records] indicate Salwa was arrested on Wednesday at 10:24 a.m. stemming from a third-degree felony Governor’s Warrant,” Starcasm reported. “But, the case docket includes a series of entries dating back to early April, including a waiver of extradition on May 4, and an entry for the receipt of a surrendered passport on the same day.

“The court records also indicate there is an active cash bond in the amount of $40,000 with a status date of May 7.”

An Amazon baby registry created by Salwa lists May 7 as her due date. (For the record, she has not revealed who the baby’s father is.)

This is not Salwa’s first run-in with law enforcement. In 2013, she was arrested and served jail time after being charged with felony drug possession with intent to deliver. She was arrested after being found hiding in a shed with two others and three packages of heroin. Cops also found Oxycodone in her purse when they booked her.

After being released from jail, Salwa called out her former Buckwild costars for being “fake” and not supporting her while she was in the slammer. It appears that she has made up with at least some of her cast mates in the years since the online feud, though. In March, she congratulated her former cast mate, Ashley Whitt, on the birth of her first child.

“Congrats to my dearest Ashley Whitt!! So proud of you becoming a new mommy!” Salwa wrote on Facebook. “Can’t wait till we are new mommys together!! And I know ur gonna be such a good mom BC u already are the best,” she captioned a photo of Ashley and her baby.

It is unknown when Salwa will be released from jail. On May 25, someone with the same last name as Salwa paid the $40,000 bond; however, at press time she was still behind bars.

MTV recently announced plans to air a ‘Buckwild’esque reality show, Made In Kentucky, in hopes of recapturing the popularity the original ‘Buckwild’ show had. (‘Buckwild’ was cancelled in 2013 due to the death of star Shain Gandee.)

The original producers behind ‘Buckwild’ are also working on a hillbilly hi-jinx show. The new show, called West Virginia Wilder, will have a similar premise to ‘Buckwild’ and is due to premiere this summer.

In this 2013 straight-from-jail video clip, Salwa discusses the cancellation of ‘Buckwild’ and her own legal problems.

  1. It’s a bit of “the chicken or the egg” thing, terrible life choices and mtv reality show “fame”.

  2. Another fucking pig.

Shain was the only likable person on that show. The rest of them were solid trash. How sad he had to be the one that died. He had a nice family too.

  3. Good grief. She was originally arrested by my daughter’s brother though.

I hope someone is taking better care of her baby.

      1. Or it could just be her daughter’s father’s son… not all siblings have the same parents… diversity is a real thing.
