Who knows whether it’s true, but it would make sense to me that Kim was already involved (at least emotionally) with someone else. She seemed to have zero doubts about ending her marriage and was fully focused on her exit. Seemed odd that she never seemed to question if she was doing the right thing, especially given her religious beliefs.
