Cory Wharton is responding after fans voiced their suspicions on social media that the Teen Mom star and his longtime girlfriend (and baby mama) Taylor Selfridge have broken up.
Fans began flooding the couples’ social media accounts with comments regarding a possible breakup after it was noticed that Cory and Taylor had removed photos of each other from their social media accounts and unfollowed each other on Instagram. (Cory has since refollowed Taylor but as of press time Taylor is no longer following Cory.) Although Taylor (who is currently on a Cory-less vacation) has remained silent about a split, Cory (who is on a Taylor-less vacation in Bali) took to X on Tuesday to confirm that he and Taylor are, indeed, “going through s**t.” (His rant has since been deleted.)
The couple— who share two daughters together— have been together for eight years. In his X rant, the star of The Challenge insisted that the problems in his relationship with Taylor did not come because he had cheated on her, as some fans suspected. He also expressed his anger at fans whom he says want to see him fail.
“I got time today so if ya really want to know what’s going stay locked in and if you want to see me fail F**kkkk ya…” Cory wrote. “Everybody talking out they ass like you think we tell you what goes on behind closed doors naw. You all see what we want you to see idiots, keep comment[ing] on dumb ass s**t ya know nothing about…
“Yall live to see ppl fail, bc your life is miserable,” he continued. “Stay on the sidelines with that bulls**t. Kids are invalid and ya don’t give. a f*k about that…”
Cory— who, over the past few years has been questioned by both fans and Taylor about his reluctance to marry her— made it clear that he does not believe getting married to Taylor would have solved their issues.
“Just put a ring on it a fix all the problems f**kkkk OUTATTA HERE…” Cory wrote. “Like I’ve been saying ya don’t give a f**k about what’s going on. You just want to see me fail.”
Cory then addressed the nay-sayers who suggested that he may have cheated on Taylor during his Bali trip.
“NO I DIDN’T CHEAT DUMBASS we were going through s**t WAY before this trip idiots,” he wrote, before slamming fans who have criticized his relationship.
“Really about to crash out on some of ya who need ya ass whopped,” he wrote. “Sit behind a computer and prey on ppl weak moments instead of having compassion and a understanding we are human too…it’s easy to comment on somebody’s issues when yall need to look in the mirror.”
In addition to his X rant, Cory has been posting cryptic song lyrics while vacationing in Bali. He captioned a photo of himself (shirtless in front of a temple…as one does), along with the lyrics to Drake‘s song “Emotionless.”
“I know the truth is you won’t love me until I’m gone,” the quote from the song reads.
Cory and Taylor met in 2017 on Ex on the Beach. The couple are parents to daughters Mila– whom they welcomed in 2020– and Maya, who was born in 2022. (Cory also shares daughter Ryder with ‘Teen Mom’ star Cheyenne Floyd.)
As fans who watched Teen Mom Family Reunion last year will remember, Cory’s reluctance to propose was a major issue in the couple’s relationship. Taylor repeatedly told Cory during the season that she wants to marry him, and that she’s tired of making excuses to people as to why Cory refuses to propose to her. At one point Taylor even told Cory that she feels embarrassed to go to the grocery store with a cart-full of kids and no engagement ring.
In March 2024, Taylor told In Touch Weekly that she would only wait for so long for Cory to propose.
“The clock is ticking,” Taylor told the outlet. “He’s only got so much time. He’s had enough time.”
As of press time, neither Cory nor Taylor have officially confirmed the breakup.
Meanwhile, though, Taylor has been receiving plenty of supportive messages on her social media accounts. In the comment section of a post to TikTok on Tuesday, fans encouraged Taylor to find a man who is ready to commit.
“You deserve so much better,” one person wrote.
“You’ll always be his ‘one that got away,'” someone else commented. “So go find a man that can love you like you deserved to be loved!”
“Find you a good man!” another person wrote.

This guy is a loser. His “career”is being a loser on an MTV show that he is way too old to be on. Taylor needs to get a lawyer and get Corey on a legal agreement for child support and visitation. He needs to grow up, get a real job and take care of the kids. Taylor needs to move on and take care of herself…she’s been left home alone with the kids quite alot while Corey competes and looses on The Challenge…making a competetive MTV show a career is not a plan for the future. He sounds pretty hostile and angry on the X comments. You know, you can always close your account Corey if you feel you being harassed.
No one should wait around for years for someone to decide if they want to marry you or not. They don’t. If they did, they would. Why doesn’t she propose and let him give her an answer. It’s much better than hoping and wondering if/when he is going to propose.

Don’t have kids if a man won’t commit!
I hope this isn’t veiled Taylor shaming. Why is he willing to put a baby in her if he won’t put a ring on her? Weird that he won’t commit in the eyes of government but will certainly commit to a lifetime of kids together. That’s on Cory.
I didn’t even bother reading half of the article. Taylor Never-Wharton can and will do so much better than Cory. He never appreciated or truly loved her and she seems like a genuinely good person, it was hard to watch her basically beg him for a commitment.
I pray she finds a good man that provides her and the girls a stable family (i.e. one that works a regular job instead of leaving for months at a time to drink and party on TV while Taylor holds down the homefront).
Cory is trash- plain and simple. He won’t commit… Even though he has children with her. He clearly overindulges in not only drinking, but obviously other women and also seems to indulge in his status as unemployed LOL. She is SO much better off. I hope they stay apart and she moves on and finds a man that will value her. Cory is never going to be anybody but a washed up man-child that will NEVER win any Challenge shows he’s on. So, let me get this straight… he’s on a vacation in Bali, while she gets to raise the kids. Seems about right. “I got time today” as opposed to when, Cory? LOL
Of course, he is in Bali while Taylor is raising their children. I suspect this is normal for her. I hope she has finally realized that she deserves better than this loser.
When they had that retreat a year or so ago, all he did was drink and get drunk. That sh*t gets old after so long. Go get help for yourself. No judging, just concerned about the drinking. Nobody wants to be with someone that can’t control their alcohol.
He’s a washed up reality star that never won at The Challenge and never will. He needs to get a job. Taylor is so much better off with out this man child.
So he’s dealing with the breakup by treating himself to a trip to Bali while Taylor is parenting. Very on-brand for this jackass.

We’re hearing the death rattle of Teen Mom, so there goes his reliable income stream. Might as well piss away the remaining money on a nice trip for himself so he can pretend to be Drake or something.

If true I am incredibly happy for Taylor. Losing 175 lbs of loser should be celebrated! Prayers up they can be good co-parents. I have no doubt she will work to make sure her children have a relationship with their big sister. Someone throw that girl a party because walking away from someone you built a family with had to be so hard. She should be applauded!
So glad she finally realized he is never going to value her the way she deserves. Such a shame for all involved that he couldn’t get over his own stuff to be a man for his family and value his partner how she deserves (i.e. wife-ing her up as she clearly stated she wanted many times). Kind of shocking that he is willing to lose his entire family/basically his life because he doesn’t want to make Taylor his wife and is scared of a piece of paper. Man needs therapy. There’s still time, I guess, but nobody wants a proposal that’s forced, especially with their scenario. Corny screwed this up a long time ago.
