‘Welcome to Plathville’ Fans React After Lydia Plath Refuses to Address the “Gossip” About Brothers Ethan & Micah’s Behavior During Her Proposal

“If I refuse to watch the episode, it’s technically still ‘gossip’ to me…”

Welcome to Plathville fans are encouraging Lydia Plath to speak out about the childish and inexcusable way in which her older brothers Ethan and Micah Plath acted in the moments leading up to her engagement to Zac Wyse.

As The Ashley previously told you, last week’s episode of ‘Welcome to Plathville’ showed Zac planning and proposing to Lydia with her family nearby; however, it was the actions of Ethan, Micah and Micah’s then-girlfriend Veronica Peters that overshadowed what was intended to be a special moment for the young couple.

Petty: party of 3.

In addition to Ethan, Micah and Veronica completely ignoring most of Zac’s proposal directions, fans watched as Ethan set multiple mini-fires in the spot that Zac planned to propose (!!) and make countless rude comments about his sister’s future husband, while Micah pushed a chair into the water at the proposal site and nearly knocked Zac to the ground when he decided to roll his body downhill as Zac was attempting to finalize the proposal plans.

We’d like to “propose” that these two act their age for once…

Earlier this week, Lydia returned to social media to share Part 4 (yes…really) of her proposal story with fans. After receiving presumably tons of comments within the last week regarding the way Ethan and Micah treated Zac before (and after) the proposal, Lydia told fans in the caption of her video that she was aware that they wanted her to address Ethan and Micah and “everything they were doing” during the episode; however, she made it clear that she wouldn’t be doing so at this time.

“ … this story was about my experience leading up to the proposal and Zac protected me from a lot of that so I could enjoy the moment,” she wrote. “ … I’m not gonna speak ABOUT my brothers without talking TO them first, because that’s gossip and it only adds to the problems and not the example I want to set.”

“You tell ’em, sweetheart! Or don’t…I’m happy either way!”

In response to Lydia’s video, some ‘Welcome to Plathville’ fans took to the comments claiming that the “gossip” about Lydia’s brothers’ behavior wasn’t gossip at all, but actually something that viewers watched unfold during the episode.

“It isn’t gossip when it was documented on television for all of us to see and they made their comments public by speaking about it on a public television show,” one fan wrote, with another commenting,” “It’s not gossip when we all witnessed it for ourselves. Their behavior was disgusting and disrespectful and when you say nothing, you appear to condone it.”

Other fans encouraged Lydia to speak to her brothers about what occurred, noting how disrespectful the two– particularly Ethan– acted in the moment.

“I understand there is editing but your brothers, Ethan in particular, were acting in a manner that was disrespectful, rude, derogatory, and in all honesty the list could go on,” one viewer wrote. “You definitely need to talk to them.”

While there were numerous comments from fans claiming to have “lost all respect” for Ethan and Micah for trying to “ruin” Lydia and Zac’s special moment, many viewers also took issue with Veronica’s behavior before and during the proposal. As you may remember, Veronica joined in on much of Ethan and Micah’s engagement-day shenanigans and moments before Lydia arrived to the surprise proposal, Veronica even removed the top layer of her outfit to reveal a shiny mini-dress, telling viewers that Zac had instructed everyone to show up wearing “church clothes.”

This stunt was even worse than that outfit.

“ … Felt so bad for [Zac],” one comment read, to which another fan added, “Me too. Totally uncalled for. Also, Veronica coming in that tiny sparkly dress because she was ‘not going to wear church clothes.’”

While Veronica has gone on to double down on her actions, claiming that she believes in “testing people’s true colors before you [marry] them,” Ethan and Micah have yet to address their own proposal-day behavior. Despite this, both continue to receive comments from viewers on social media regarding the way they acted towards Zac and Lydia, with Ethan in particular receiving a lot of criticism.

Ethan, describing his behavior. (Probably.)

“Okay Mr. No Personality who has a problem with someone who has a personality,” one person commented on Ethan’s latest Instagram post. “This was a special moment for your sister and you acted like a complete child.”

“[Zac] should’ve thrown you in that fire,” another wrote.

Others insisted that Ethan’s actions on the episode seemed to reflect some of the claims his ex-wife Olivia Plath has made in recent months regarding Ethan’s allegedly disturbing behavior.

“Told ya!”

“Be careful Ethan. Your abusive side is starting to show….,” a viewer commented, to which another responded, “First time I’ve ever considered that I might’ve been wrong about Olivia.”

“Olivia is telling the truth,” claimed another viewer, with another writing, “I’m starting to see that now.”

  1. I think Lydia is sweet and innocent sadly her brothers are not very nice to her fiancé and that awful Veronica get over yourself you are so mean and if you are still with Micah after he cheated on you that is your problem
Furthermore you should be ashamed of yourself for talking shit to the young sister about her family couldn’t you tell that she was uncomfortable I guess you will get it when Micha comes to his senses and ends the relationship with you

    1. I think her brothers had good intentions but handled it poorly. Lydia, on the other hand, handled the situation very nicely in this week’s episode by saying her brothers should apologize to Zac instead of her. So that was her calling out her brothers out, so hopefully the bloodsuckers on social media can leave her alone now.

C u next Tues is all that comes to mind for me about Veronica. Never liked her from the start (same as with Olivia). I keep trying to figure out what Micah could have possibly seen in her. With each passing episode I’m at more of a loss to come up with anything.

Luckily, the relationship ended and hopefully he learned from it and will choose better next time.

  2. Olivia was always telling the TRUTH. Kim one who ran her out of family but Olivia should be grateful she didn’t waste anymore years with that backwards family.

  3. I understand those are her brothers, and she’s always been very protective and loyal to her family, but she should stand up for her husband. Ethan and Micah clearly didn’t give a shit about her or her feelings during the proposal, so why is she protecting them? She’s a sweet girl, my hope for her is that she move far away from them and set boundaries.

  4. A bunch of sociopaths, all of them. If Lydia is not going to grow a pair, then she needs to stay away from them for good.

    1. Probably even if she does. As the family scapegoat, I spoke out all the time, it got me nowhere, if ppl aren’t willing to listen.

  5. The sad truth is that Lydia was raised to be a submissive pushover. Standing up for herself or her husband feels “wrong” to her. It’s sad honestly.
