Lala Kent Gives Her Thoughts on New Cast of ‘Vanderpump Rules’; Says First-Time Reality Stars Won’t Have “A lot of Self-Awareness”

“I better not hear one of these new kids asking anyone if they wanna get popped…that’s MY thing!”

As the Vanderpump Rules OGs pass their SURving trays to the new cast of the Bravo series, former hostess Lala Kent says she’s “excited” for the newcomers, as well as the drama she believes they’ll bring to Season 12.

Bravo announced in November that the upcoming season of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ would go back to its roots by featuring an entirely new cast of employees from Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR restaurant.

Though the OGs from the Bravo series won’t be returning for Season 12, fans can expect to see Lisa and longtime SUR manager Peter Madrigal– who frequently appeared on ‘Vanderpump Rules’ over the years– in the upcoming season.

While promoting the launch of her Untraditionally Lala podcast this week, Lala told E! News that, despite not knowing any of the new ‘Vanderpump Rules’ cast members personally, she’s curious to see what they bring to the table.

“So, I don’t know any of the cast,” Lala told the outlet. “I will say I’m very excited for them, because I know that feeling of being on TV for the first time, it’s like, very fun. I’ve heard that it’s gonna be amazing.”

Lala went on to tell the outlet that she’s also heard that the new ‘Vanderpump Rules’ cast– which has not been officially announced, according to Cosmopolitan– will be bringing the sort of drama in Season 12 that only reality TV newbies can bring.

“You cannot teach the art of reality TV,” she explained. “Even if you’ve watched it, you can tell when someone’s been watching reality TV and they try to bring those iconic moments. I’ve heard this cast is so authentically themselves and there’s not a lot of self-awareness, which is freaking awesome.

“When it comes to filming a reality show, you want them to not know the cameras exist and I’ve heard that that’s what’s happening,” she continued.

While Lala’s ‘Vanderpump Rules’ days are behind her, viewers can expect her to return to the Bravo spinoff The Valley in Season 3– this time, in a larger capacity.

“I’ve been filming and it’s very different,” the mother of two said of the upcoming season. “I thought that coming back to reality TV would be like riding a bike. It’s not. It’s a little bit like, ‘Do I know what I’m doing? How do we go about this?’

“I’ve been in my bubble for two years,” she added.

Premiere dates for Season 12 of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ and Season 3 of ‘The Valley’ have yet to be announced.
