Lala Kent and Scheana Shay may be on the outs at the moment, but the friendship between their daughters remains strong, and according to Lala, it’s important that it stays that way.
While fielding fan questions recently on Amazon Live, Lala was asked about the friendship between her 4-year-old daughter Ocean and Scheana’s 4-year-old daughter Summer, who have spent much of their lives growing up around each other due to their moms being friends (as well as castmates and neighbors) and the two being in the same preschool class.
“Summer and Ocean are still friends,” Lala said, adding that Ocean often “writes little notes” on the whiteboard in their house and the current message reads, “I love you Summer,” followed by Ocean’s name.
“They’re like, cute little friends,” Lala continued. “They have a heyday at school, which I love, because they’ve known each other literally since birth and so that’s a friendship that needs to stay incubated and protected to the best of our ability.”
As The Ashley previously told you, Scheana called out Lala on an August episode of her Scheananigans podcast for not promoting her memoir My Good Side until a week after the book hit shelves. When asked about the rumored feud last month on Amazon Live, Lala downplayed the situation, telling fans she would let “Scheana Scheana”– a remark that Scheana later admitted she “really didn’t like.”
Scheana added fuel to the fire in September while attending Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea Awards, where she accused Lala of making “subtle digs” and not “taking accountability” for the reason “Scheana is Scheana-ing at the moment.” After taking the stage at the awards show, Scheana continued discussing the feud between her and Lala, while admitting that they both have a habit of talking about their issues publicly, but never addressing them one-on-one.
Scheana also claimed at the time that the tension between her and Lala hadn’t kept their daughters from hanging out together, though she hinted that it may become an issue in the future.
“It’s like, we’re good … I mean, at least for this year while the kids are still going to the same school,” she said. “When kindergarten starts, who knows … .”
Weeks ago, Lala took to her Untraditionally Lala podcast to confirm that things between her and Scheana remain “in a very strange place,” before going on to admit that she was “very disappointed” in the way her friend has moved lately– particularly, how Scheana reacted to certain people promoting her memoir.
“ … [Scheana] said it put friendships into perspective based on who posted her book,” Lala told listeners. “She didn’t talk about the times that I’ve sat in a car and cried with her about the situations she wrote about in her book.
“She didn’t talk about the message that I sent her about how f**king proud I am of her that she wrote this book, put her heart out there and made it to The New York Times Best-Sellers List– that is not easy,” she continued. “But because none of that was public, it’s not good enough for her.”

Lala went on to admit on the episode that she finds herself wanting to “shake [Scheana] at times” for not focusing on the good things in her life and seemingly dwelling on the few negatives.
“ … I wanna shake her because it’s like, you have a husband who’s absolutely wonderful– he may not have done wonderful things, but he has made massive changes for you and that’s a beautiful thing and you chose to stick with him,” she said, referring to Scheana’s husband, Brock Davies, and the affair Brock had in 2021, which Scheana wrote about in her book.
Lala also noted that Scheana has a “beautiful, healthy little girl,” as well as parents she is close to and a sister who is “cool as f**k” before asking, “What are you so mad about all the time?”
Lala argued that her friendship should not be based off of whether or not she promoted a friend’s book within the proper timeline, noting that she’s “a person with a life.”
“You’re setting me up for failure every time,” Lala said. “And let me be very clear, y’all. I posted the book. The book was posted, she’s upset that I didn’t post in the proper timeline. I am not a robot. You don’t click in what you need from me. I’m a person with a life.”
Lala also stated that, despite posting about Scheana’s book on two separate occasions– once when it was available for pre-order and a second time after she received a copy of the book– Scheana still wasn’t happy.

“But nothing I do or anyone does will ever be good enough,” she added.

Idk about anybody else, but I’m sick of seeing or hearing anything about Scheana. Why did The Valley have to bring either one of those two on to the show. Scheana is nothing but a stirrer, and her husband, Oh Lawd, needs to go.
They’re really trying to make this happen aren’t they. While the world is out her not giving a f!
Right and now the kids friendship is part of it, feels like it’s missing competitive dance or cheer and we have got a whole new show.
