“7 Little Johnstons” Star Anna Johnston Confirms She Wasn’t Invited to Her Sister Liz’s Wedding Amid Family Feud

“I guess there was no ‘Disgruntled Sister of Honor’ position open for me in the wedding party?”

The stars of 7 Little Johnstons came together last week to celebrate the wedding of Liz Johnston and Brice Bolden— well, most of them, anyway.

As The Ashley previously reported, Liz married her longtime boyfriend Brice at the Johnston family home in Georgia on November 8. As  family members began to post photos from the wedding, fans noticed one person who appeared to be absent from the festivities: Elizabeth’s older sister, Anna Johnston.

Anna confirmed on a livestream this week that she did not attend her estranged sister’s wedding. She listed other family members who also skipped the event, commenting, “My cousin Ella didn’t go, my cousin Carrington didn’t go…”

During the livestream, Anna stated that she would have attended the wedding if she had been invited. (She said that she attended a friend’s gender reveal party on the day of Liz and Brice’s wedding.)

On TikTok, however, Anna claimed that she didn’t get to make the decision herself on whether or not to attend the wedding.

“So were you invited?!” a fan asked Anna in the comment section of one of her recent posts on TikTok.

“NO,” Anna replied firmly.

Liz has not yet responded to fans’ comments left on social media asking why Anna was absent from the wedding. (All the other Johnston siblings were present, with brothers Jonah and Alex serving as groomsmen and sister Emma as a bridesmaid.)

“Um, CLEARLY your invitation got lost in the mail, Anna! Yeah…that’s it.”

On a recent episode of “7 Little Johnsons,” Anna spoke to her siblings Alex and Emma about the strained relationship the family has with her.

“This is always put on me,” she said. “It’s always looked at [like] I’m the bad person, I’m the bad person. But y’all have a phone. Y’all can text me, y’all can talk to me. Y’all are always welcome in my house. Just shoot me a text…”

When her siblings expressed their desire for Anna to “bury the hatchet” with their mom and dad, Anna stated that she wanted that as well, but reminded them that their parents refuse to forgive her as well.

In the weeks leading up to Elizabeth’s nuptials, fans had speculated about Anna’s involvement, if any, especially amidst the feud being documented on the show’s current season. Anna had begun separating from her family, particularly parents Amber and Trent Johnston, after a fight over a borrowed graduation gown, which she explained in this season’s premiere episode.

“My parents got mad at me because I took [older brother] Jonah’s graduation gown, and I didn’t tell them,” Anna stated. “And they got mad because I didn’t take graduation photos with them. It just kept getting worse and worse, which led to me not even wanting to come around.”

The whole Johnston family in May 2024…

Prior to filming this season (which shows events from about one year ago), Anna said she had “taken the summer off” from seeing her family, but that rift has seemingly continued into the present day.

Anna has also distanced herself from promoting the show’s 16th season, refraining from reposting any trailers or sneak peeks for upcoming episodes. She even commented on one of TLC’s Instagram posts promoting the show’s premiere writing, “So it’s still called ‘7’ or ‘6’?”, implying that the show’s title is not fit due to her exclusion from the family.

Anna’s comment garnered plenty of responses from fans who seemed to be siding with her.

“Right! Like why weren’t you included in this?” one person responded to Anna’s comment about the (cringy) family dance post.

“You’re the only one I care to see because you’re real and not fake,” someone else wrote to Anna. “I’m so sorry your family treats you how they do…”

Mic drop.

Photos posted from the wedding day show a TLC camera crew filming the event for the upcoming season of the show.

“7 Little Johnstons” airs Tuesdays on TLC.

  1. I would rather watch a show just about Anna

Than the Amber and Elizabeth manipulate show
or lets keep bringing up Anna’s past mistakes show.
Or the sun shines out of 6 butts show
    Stupid dancing show
    Stupid games or competitions show
Or lets try and make ourselves look interesting show.

  2. I’m conflicted on this situation. I feel like Anna has been troubled her whole life (stemming from her early years in a Russian orphanage) and it’s been touched on since the beginning that she has a history of making decisions without thinking through the consequences (sometimes we got the details, sometimes it was left vague). However, I think she’s made a lot of progress (she’s able to work, run a side business, owns a home) and her parents are still treating her like a rebellious teenager. Trent and Amber seem controlling. It was okay when they were actually teenagers and needed the strictness and guidance, but they’ve mostly grown into responsible and decent adults now, so the parents need to back off and let them make their own decisions in life. I also feel like Anna gets treated worse because she doesn’t bend to their parents will like the rest if the kids tend to do.

So, yeah, Anna doesn’t always make the best choices, but she doesn’t make the worst ones either and sometimes things she does get blown out of proportion and dragged on and on. I also don’t want to blame the other kids either, because they have a different POV on things, for instance Emma and Alex were hurt that Anna didn’t attend their graduation, Elizabeth was hurt that Anna didn’t want to be a super involved aunt with Leighton, etc.

It’s just a sad situation overall and I hope that the siblings can at least eventually work through things. If not, I wish Anna the best and I’m glad she has a relationship with her grandmother and cousins and such.

  3. I just started diving into the circumstances and I hope Anna stays free of her family and gets therapy to know her worth so she doesn’t run to the next abuser looking for love, not knowing she’s just getting more abuse. Abuse victims tend to repeat patterns subconsciously without learning healthy conflict resolution and emotional responses they weren’t taught as kids.

  4. Anna’s a total compulsive liar who thinks she’s way too cool for her family, so why even bother inviting her? You all keep saying Trent and Amber are terrible, but they’re the ones actually trying to help her out and even gave her a down payment for her house. To those who are on Anna’s side, all I can say is… Hi Anna!!

    1. Are we watching the same thing? Her parents are terrible! Anna is the only one ever disciplined, to extreme. Her parents constantly criticize and find fault. The older brother is a loser who still lives at home, Liz got knocked up before marriage, if the tables were turned and Anna did one of those things, omg it would have been the end of the earth. It all goes back to Anna bonding with Trent and not Amber (good choice Anna) and Amber will never forget that. I guess every family has a black sheep and unfortunately for Anna it’s her, childhood stigma is hard to change. It’s absolutely terrible that she was excluded from the wedding. It’s probably just as well, it was a no win situation for her. I think she needs to surround herself with positive friends and try to move ahead. Btw, they only gave her $5000 for the down payment, the rest is all Anna, give her credit where it’s due. I stopped watching last season because I just couldn’t watch the abuse anymore, plus their overproduced dances and games are boring as are Trent’s sex jokes.

    2. You are an asshole..during all the seasons shows is is family and has the last name. No matter what is going on she should have been invited and ANNA should have made that decision. Watching every show, Anna has been the Black sheep of the family. Children need guidance and do not understand things and this is why we all have parents to show all of us what is right or wrong. Getting passed off about being parents and doing your job is pathetic and lazy. The more I watch this show the .ore I believe anna. And all you shitheads that think the Anna is wrong needs to be better parents a d stop being judgemental. And raise your kids better. Stop the crimes and raise your shitheads

      1. #1, what the fuck? It’s not that serious to be calling people assholes over a damn TV show just because they disagree with you.

#2, it’s almost 2026…you still haven’t learned to not make your screenname your real name?

  5. Anna has been troubled since before the show premiered. I’m not saying she’s always treated the same as the other kids, but she acts out more than the rest of them combined. She’s not the victim she portrays herself to be. Supplying alcohol to a minor is just the latest she’s done.

  6. When this show is over we will find out the real story of what has gone on. Anna was expelled from a public high school. That doesn’t happen without a history behind it and serious transgressions by Anna. Being estranged from her parents is one thing, but every single one of her siblings? Something is wrong there. Anna is the common denominator.

  7. Anna is the family scapegoat and Amber, Trent, Liz & Co are insufferable prats. And I’d sooner watch grass grow or paint dry then to watch Whinyex, Smulgly (Emma) and Donutah. Donut gets wasted on synthetic marijuana vs Anna and underage drinking, oh please, they’re hypocrites.

    1. Looky there, the Amber & Co found out about The Ashley. You Ambie, stay off Reddit, they really dislike you…and Trent…and…Liz the not nurse l.

  8. I feel bad for Anna honestly. She is clearly treated like an outsider then blamed for staying on the outside where they put her. Amber is HORRIBLE, Trent is whipped by Amber and Elizabeth does and says whatever Amber wants her to. If Amber is mad at Anna then so is Elizabeth.
