‘Bringing Up Bates’ Star Carlin Stewart Slammed Days After Posting What Many Fans Say is “Disturbing” Food Video of Infant Daughter: “This is Concerning”

Carlin Bates Stewart and her infant daughter, Navy…before she was buttered.

Former Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates Stewart is catching heat on social media after posting a video of her infant daughter to TikTok that many fans have deemed “disturbing,” and “concerning.”

As fans of the Bates family may know, Carlin and her husband, Evan Stewart, are parents to three children, including daughter Navy, whom the couple welcomed in September.

While Carlin and Evan are known to post a lot of content to social media that features their children, a particular TikTok that Carlin posted last week resulted in numerous people sounding off in the comment section and encouraging Carlin and Evan to better “protect” their kids from potential predators on social media.

In her controversial TikTok, Carlin told fans in the caption that she was “bringing an extra side of cuteness to Thanksgiving dinner this year.” The mom of three then encouraged fans to send the TikTok of her infant daughter “to someone who suffers from cute aggression.”

“POV you found the best rolls in the bakery,” Carlin wrote in the TikTok, which featured various clips of her comparing Navy’s legs, feet, hands and arms to assorted baked goods and even applying butter (literally) to the infant’s arm as it appeared alongside a plate of dinner rolls. The video concluded with a clip of Carlin spraying canned whipped topping onto her daughter’s bare belly before applying a raspberry on top.

Shortly after it was posted, Carlin’s TikTok began receiving comments from people calling the video (as well as Carlin and Evan) “weird,” with one accusing Carlin of posting the “perfect video” for certain “weirdos” online.

“This is exploitation, insane!” one person wrote. “Why would you put this online for strangers?!!! This is not cute. There are child predators hello!”

Another individual mentioned the fact that, despite the Bates family being known for having strict rules against girls wearing pants and couples kissing before marriage, “they do very little to protect their kids online.”

Similarly, many took to the comments stressing the large number of TikTok users who had “saved” or viewed Carlin’s video, as well as the fact that Carlin had yet to remove it from the platform, despite the amount of criticism it had received.

“Over 7000 people saved this and over a million watched. It’s scary,” one person wrote, with another adding, “The amount of saves…. And y’all still have the video up smh.”

While there were a few comments from people attempting to give Carlin the benefit of the doubt, most of them still took a moment to explain to Carlin why her video was in poor taste.

“ … I know that your intentions are completely innocent, but please be careful on here bc there are some absolutely evil creeps on here,” a fan told Carlin, with another adding, “I agree. The Internet is a dangerous place full of not-so-innocent-minded people.”

“Please delete girl, the saves are scary, I know it’s just a cute video, but the world is such a scary place,” another concerned follower commented.

“If y’all are gonna post your babies at least leave the saves OFF,” insisted another. “I mean come on let’s be a little proactive on the Internet.”

Despite the few who suggested that Carlin had posted the video without realizing how it may be perceived, others argued that Carlin and Evan weren’t concerned about the TikTok– or any of their “family influencer” content– being seen by the wrong people.

“Yeah they don’t care unfortunately bc it makes them money,” one person wrote, with another insisting, “They know exactly what they are doing and it’s SICK.”

As of press time, the TikTok remains on Carlin’s page, as well as on her public Instagram page, where she had also posted the video last week. You can watch it below.

Neither Carlin nor Evan have responded to the backlash.

  1. People need to spend more time on themselves instead of others. She doesn’t think that way and they don’t have diety minds like most people. Its their child nobody else’s.

  2. I think she posted videos that got millions of views with their first kid (Lalla?) too…ugh, why do parents do this and if she’s exploiting her kid for money online (They have a YT channel so ofc they do), that’s even worse….do you want easy money to the expense of some creep starting to talk to your kid on the way to school in a few years and acting like friends?! I recently saw an ad about dangers of the internet, esp for kids and even my country had a commercial few years back “Mommy, can this picture be just for you?”

And if she doesn’t see the problem…she needs to think, she got on television quite young…what if her parents did that to her if social media already existed?! Maybe that will make her rethink everything.

  3. They’re friends with the duggars so they should absolutely know that there are creeps out there. It’s so weird how unwilling they are to protect their kids

  4. I don’t think Carlin meant this as anything but a cute baby video BUT given who her family hangs out with, or at least used to, she should know better.

    1. I think she saw it as a way to pull in more viewers and make more money. Children should not be exploited. Every post now looks like a scripted commercial. The older two are probably told exactly what to say and how to respond and gesture. What a sick way to make a living and raise children.

    1. I was watching Oprah years ago. They had actual child predators on the show. They were discussing all kinds of crazy stuff (obviously) one of them was talking about being aroused by diaper commercials. Fucking gross. Pervs are going to find many things to see some sick whatever with. I wouldn’t post anything like this, but it’s a sad thing that we can hardly have anything seen as innocent anymore.

      1. Wow! That is so twisted and disgusting! Something that sick can’t be helped and should be executed. I’d be fine with street justice if there’s no other option.

I think it was on Dr Phil that I saw a girl talking about how she was one of the child sex objects provided at parties of the ultra rich. Her story sounded legit, which is why I still remember it, even though it’s hard to imagine that stuff like that actually happens.

        It’s a sick world!

        1. Yep. They don’t belong in society. That’s for sure.
I watch Dr Phil and I’ve seen some pretty deviant stuff on there too. Very sad
