Julie Chrisley to Star in New Cooking Show in 2026; Says She’ll Incorporate Some of Her Prison Meals Into Show

“Get ready for Prison Meals 101, y’all!”

Julie Chrisley is set to star in her own cooking show next year, and the reality star is promising to show her viewers how to prepare some of her favorite meals she made while in prison.

The Chrisley Knows Best star announced her new gig during Wednesday’s episode of her Chrisley Confessions podcast, revealing that she will begin filming in February. Although Julie— who, along with Todd, was released from prison at the end of May after receiving a full pardon from President Donald Trump— said that she wants to prepare meals on the show that are for families and good for special occasions. However, she also plans to incorporate cooking tips and tricks she learned while in the clink.

(As The Ashley previously reported, Julie and Todd were sent to prison after being convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud crimes in June 2022. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison and Julie got a seven-year sentence.)

“I’ve been doing deep dives into comments that people have put on social media, and so many people want you to do segments of what you cooked while you were at—’summer camp,’” Todd said on the podcast, referring to Julie’s stay in federal prison. “I think that you do that. I think that you do some of those things.”

Julie stated that she plans to “incorporate some of that into” her show; however, she’s excited to be able to prepare food with ingredients that are not limited to whatever is being hocked at the prison commissary.

“We have real ingredients and we have real ways to cook,” Julie said.

“No more ramen noodle and Kool-Aid casserole for this girl!”

“I want it to be things that I actually cook, and I want it to be things that everybody else can cook,” she added. “I don’t want it to be crazy ingredients that people have to go out here and search and find. I want the majority of it to be things that if you cook, that you would have in your pantry to cook.”

Todd– eager to be a part of Julie’s new show— decided insulting his wife was the best way to convince her to allow him to be the producer of the cooking show.

“You have to have a producer of your show,” he told her. “Who do you think is doing the show? You think that you’re producing yourself?

“We all know that Julie has trouble chewing gum and walking at the same time,” Todd joked.

Julie mentally calculating how many years she’d get in prison for murdering Todd over that “joke”…

“I’ve not heard this and I’ve not agreed to this. This is my baby. It’s not yours,” Julie told him.

Back in 2024, Julie and Todd’s daughter Savannah revealed on her Unlocked podcast that Julie cooked Thanksgiving dinner for herself and some of her fellow inmates while in prison in 2023. Savannah read a letter she received from Julie, in which Julie stated that she had initially “fought against” the idea of making a holiday meal in prison, but eventually decided to do it. Julie wrote that she made chicken and stuffing casseroles for her penitentiary pals.

“Cooking is done on radiators in the winter and with hot water and a small Rubbermaid orange cooler in the summer,” Julie stated in her letter, as read by Savannah. “There’s no refrigerator, no knives, no staples other than a few spices from commissary. We made the best of it though and just sitting around a table was nice.”

“If she can make casserole on a radiator, just think what she can cook in a real oven, y’all!”

Now that both Chrisleys have been sprung from the clink, they are working on several projects, in addition to Julie’s new cooking show. In June, Todd stated on “Good Morning America” that he and Julie want to open a hotel in Charleston, South Carolina— a venture they’re hoping to (naturally) create a reality TV show around.

“We have hopes of acquiring a hotel—a mansion—there that we are gonna convert into a hotel,” Todd said.

Julie— who did her What’s Cooking with Julie Chrisley video series in 2019— has not revealed if her cooking show will air on television or be an online show.
