See the Results of The Ashley’s “Best of 2025 Reality TV” Survey!

The faces of 2025 reality TV…

Last week, The Ashley asked you to vote for your favorite (and least favorite) reality TV stars, shows and moments of 2025. The Ashley gathered up the most-loved, most-hated and most-jaw-dropping, and you voted for your favorites!

And now…the results are in!

Before we get to the results, The Ashley would like to thank her readers for another great year for The Roundup! It’s been….interesting.

Check out the survey results below!

Biggest Reality TV Trainwreck of 2025:

Kody Brown (Sister Wives)

“I think we all know whose fault this is: Christine. Oh and Meri. And probably Janelle. And those ungrateful kids of mine!”

For a shocking fourth year in a row, Kody has been chosen as reality TV’s biggest trainwreck! From his hair, to his inability to take accountability for his own trainwrecky actions, Kody is a mess. Despite using all of his gaslighting tricks and glove-covered finger pointing the blame at everyone else, Kody’s family (and ‘Sister Wives’ fans) are very aware that he is the problem.

Honorable Mention: Amber Portwood (Teen Mom: The Next Chapter)

Most Shocking Reality TV Split of 2025:

Kail Lowry & Elijah Scott (Teen Mom 2)

“Sadly fourth time— and fourth baby daddy— was not the charm for me!”

After three baby daddies, a divorce and countless online brawls with her exes, it seemed Kail had finally found true love in her fourth baby daddy, Elijah. The pair had welcomed three kids and gotten engaged when a girl on TikTok threw a cruise-ship-sized wrench into Kail’s Happily Ever After. Kail and Elijah were on vacation together and posting happy videos when a girl named Britt came across one video on TikTok, only to them realize that the guy in the videos with Kail was the guy she had slept with on a cruise back in May 2024– just a few months after Kail gave birth to their twins! While Kail initially seemed to deny Britt’s claims of an on-the-sea tryst with Elijah, the ‘Teen Mom’ star dumped him soon after

Honorable Mention: Nany Gonzalez & Kaycee Clark (The Challenge)

Biggest Reality TV Villain of 2025:

Kody Brown (Sister Wives)

Kody got the hairline he deserves…

Kody has taken this “award” a whopping five times in a row! This year, the competition wasn’t even close, with Kody taking over 51 percent of the votes! (You know he’s bad if he managed to beat Amber Portwood and Jax Taylor by a landslide for this “honor!”) The Curled One— with his cruel gaslighting, refusal to make up with his children and poor treatment of basically anyone who is not Robyn or her kids— is certainly a villain.

Honorable Mention: Jax Taylor (The Valley)

Most-Shocking Reality TV-Related Scandal of 2025:

‘Teen Mom’ Stars Catelynn Lowell & Tyler Baltierra Caught Texting Minors Allegedly Associated with Their Estranged Birth Daughter Carly

“Oopsie doo.”

Catelynn and Tyler were cut off from their biological daughter, Carly, last year by her parents— but that didn’t stop the ‘Teen Mom’ couple from trying to communicate with the teenager! In the spring of 2025, it was exposed that Cate had been texting with a minor friend of Carly’s and trying to arrange it so the friend would get her into secret contact with Carly. Tyler eventually joined in, and the couple scrambled to explain their actions after their text messages were exposed. Eventually, they discussed the situation on their podcast, admitting they were wrong and that they did it out of “desperation” to talk to Carly.

“If we had access to information [about Carly], none of this would have happened,” Tyler said.

Honorable Mention: ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Star Garrick Merrifield Arrested for Domestic Violence

Best Reality TV Comeback/Change of 2025:

Janelle Brown (Sister Wives)

“I rid myself of Kody and all the Brown clowns in 2025! Go me!”

This is the second year in a row that Janelle has taken this award. The ‘Sister Wives’ star now lives across the country from Kody and Robyn and is building a new home that’s close to her kids and grandchildren. Janelle has even started offering life coaching services to teach other people how to live their best (Kody-free) lives!

Honorable Mention: Ryan Edwards (Teen Mom: The Next Chapter)

Most Jaw-Dropping Moment of Reality TV in 2025:

Amber Portwood Calls Estranged Daughter Leah “Disrespectful” and “Rude” On-Camera After Receiving Text from Her (Teen Mom: The Next Chapter)

“Um…yeah. Obviously…”

During the season finale of “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” Amber unleashed on her daughter, Leah, blasting the 16-year-old after receivng an unexpected text from Leah that explained why she doesn’t want a relationship with her. Amber was furious that she was “set up” to receive Leah’s text on-camera, causing her to launch into a vicious rant in which she called Leah “rude” and demanded that her daughter stop disrespecting her.

“Leah— stop! You’re 16. STOP!” Amber told her daughter. “People see the disrespect, by the way, and they tell me how much you disrespect me too! STOP! You’re rude! There’s no reason to be rude.”

Amber also took aim at Leah’s dad Gary and, later, the show producers for the stunt.

Honorable Mention: Micah & Isaac Plath Get into a Full-on Brawl; Isaac Nearly Rips Micah’s Nose Off (Welcome to Plathville)

Favorite New Reality TV Show of 2025:

Next Gen NYC

“Thanks guys!”

Bravo’s new reality show about a group of young up-and-comers in New York City was a big hit for the network, becoming Bravo’s most-watched series premiere of all time and most-watched season premiere in the MP+35 rating. With a cast full of young adults who grew up in the spotlight in some way (i.e. Gia Guidice and Riley Burruss, the daughters of Real Housewives legends), it’s no surprise ‘Next Gen NYC’ became so popular for the younger crowd.

Honorable Mention: 90 Day: Hunt for Love

Reality TV Show That Should Retire After 2025:

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter

“Smile because you haven’t had to get a real job in 16 years!”

For the last few years, Roundup readers have made it clear that they feel that the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise is a bit long-in-the-tooth and needs to end, but MTV had not received the message…until 2025. For over 16 years, we’ve been watching the girls and guys of ‘Teen Mom’ pick fights, parent and avoid getting real jobs, but now it seems that MTV may have finally pulled the plug on the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise.

Honorable Mention: Mama June: Family Crisis

Overall Favorite Reality TV Show of 2025:

90 Day Fiance

Waiting for TLC to announce the “90 Day Fiance: Brawlin’ for Love” spin-off any moment here…

This marks the second year in a row that readers have voted “90 Day Fiance” as their favorite reality show! With its endless supply of spin-offs, there’s no lack of “90 Day” drama on TV, and fans can’t seem to get enough. Fights are plentiful, and with each new season, we meet more star-crazed (and sometimes, just downright crazed) couples looking for love.

Honorable Mention: Sister Wives

  1. How the HELL is Darcy not the biggest train wreck on reality tv?!?!?! Or even a Stacey/Darcy combo as the biggest train wreck. They are toxic and destructive and selfish and completely out of touch with reality and not willing to take ANY accountability for their actions. Yes I feel bad they have body dysmorphia and that’s why they think that they look good, and yes they need mental health support for a multitude of things, but “train wreck” is def a well deserved title for all they bring to the people around them like their husbands and kids and dad.

    1. Yes!! They are so bad. I even felt bad for the one guy Darcy dated. The one she “trew da shoe” at. They are definitely in outer space.

  2. Kinda bummed that Amber, from 7LJs, didn’t get an honorable mention. Shes just as disgusting as Kody and Amber, fromTM, in the piss poor parenting department.

  3. Thank you, The Ashley, for another year of trashtastic news and lots of laughs. You have brightened lots of otherwise gloomy days, and I genuinely appreciate you!

  4. Amber is so delusional. Leah HAS a mother, her name is Kristina! She raised her, you did jacksh*t. And now that she’s finally able to express that herself (Leah also speaks very coherent IN CONTRARY TO YOU!), you flip on her. And somehow you think that will make her want you to be in her life?…Sure. Go fix yourself before you screw over your relationship with James too. (Even tho I feel you already did)

Another delusional couple are Cate&Ty. In what world do they think it was appropriate to message CARLY’S FRIEND (who is a minor which already sounds very strange) Also “access to information” as if Carly is some sort of object and not a human being with her own feelings. (I am still 100% sure it was her who wanted to cut all ties, not Brandon&Theresa) And when it was exposed what you actually messaged when you could, it was all about bragging what the girls are doing, nothing even in interest of how Carly is doing. Like she barely knows those girls, they might be birth sisters but in reality she only has a brother she is close to. (I don’t remember if Brandon&Theresa ever adopted another child after him but I know Carly has a younger brother)

    1. Go look at Carliy’s Tiktok that was verified as HER (@just_being_myself). She is literally counting down the days where she can get in touch with Ty and Cate AND her sisters because it WAS indeed Brandon and Teresa that cut them off because they ae “toxic and not Christians”. Carly says that if she chose Cate and Ty, Teresa and Brandon told her that she’d lose access to her little brother that she’s very close to, and have to go to a Christian wilderness school that she is adamant about not going to. Carly appears to be very upset and sad that she’s been made to choose between the birth parents and her adopted parents- and that both sets ARE her REAL parents. She doesn’t judge Ty and Cate for what they do either. The whole thing is very sad.

      1. They’ve kept Carly out of the spotlight for a reason. I don’t think anyone should go looking for her social media. Give that kid the privacy she deserves

        1. I doubt it’s even really her; it sounds like another weirdo scamming Cate and Ty, who will fall for it and stalk the impersonator (again).
