‘Sister Wives’ Star Kody Brown Claims He & Wife Robyn Are “Fighting for Our Marriage” Following Brown Family Breakup

“If only your hairline fought as hard as we did…”

Kody Brown may have be able to walk away from his series of divorces with his marriage to wife Robyn still intact, but according to the former polygamist, he and his “shy and pretty” wife are “fighting” to keep their relationship going in the aftermath of the Brown Family breakup.

Kody revealed the status of his and Robyn’s relationship during Sunday’s episode of Sister Wives while delivering an apology to his only remaining wife for neglecting her as he processed his splits from exes Christine, Janelle and Meri.

“Robyn and I are fighting for our marriage and our life together,” Kody told viewers. “We have been going through four years or more of breakup with the family. I guess what I’m saying is Robyn and I have a great relationship when I’m being me. When I’m being brave and kind.”

“Hmm, I can think of a lot of words to describe Kody Brown but ‘brave’ and ‘kind’ are not the words that come to mind.”

As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ know, Christine left Kody in 2021, Janelle announced her separation from Kody in 2022 and Meri confirmed her split from Kody the following year. This season, Kody recently issued in-person apologizes to each of his exes for his actions following (and leading up to) their respective splits, before going on to also apologize to Robyn, whom he claimed deserved an apology from him “most of all.”

On Sunday’s episode, Robyn told viewers that she had seen a change in Kody since his ex-wife apology tour; however, she also revealed that there are moments when her frizzy-haired soulmate still reverts back to the “angry divorced guy.”

Kody’s gonna Kody…

“We go through these periods where he is back to himself and we are, like, who we usually are in our relationship and it’s really beautiful,” Robyn said. “We’re having a great time and then something will happen and he’s kind of back to – he reverts back to the angry divorced guy.”

Despite Kody occasionally getting “frustrated and angry,” Robyn acknowledged that he continues to try “very hard to get it right,” noting that making amends with his exes was ultimately “a good thing.”

“I’m hoping, I’m praying that that will go a long way as far as any kind of healing that we may be able to achieve in the future as a family,” Robyn told viewers.

“Call me crazy, but I’m not ready to give up my porch rockin’ chair dreams just yet!”

During the episode, Robyn confirmed to Kody that she forgave him for his past actions, insisting that she had already forgiven him as the Brown Family breakup “was happening.”

“There’s a lot of charity I had for you through it all … because I had gone through my own divorce and I know how toxic it can get,” she explained to him, referring to her first marriage to ex-husband David Preston Jessop, the biological father of her three eldest children.

Kody and Robyn’s marriage update comes just months after Kody confessed on a Season 19 episode of ‘Sister Wives’ that he was left “so broken” by his trio of divorces that he considered “walking away” from his union to Robyn at one point.

“Go ahead and try it, Kody…”

“Because I’ve been in plural marriage for so long and it was a sole focus of marriage for me, when we failed at it, I was sabotaging myself,” he told viewers on an episode that aired back in April. “There were days [that were] unfair to Robyn that I thought about just walking away from our relationship, too. And that was just because I was so broken, I became self-destructive.”

Despite his past comments, Kody went on to claim in November while promoting his appearance on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test that his relationship with Robyn remains “solid” and that she is his “favorite person in the world.”

  1. I suspect even as repulsive Robyn is, she can’t stand Kody either and is just hanging on because that is the best meal ticket she’s EVER had.

  2. “fighting for (their) marriage”?!?
more like fighting for attention. and fighting to keep their stale, tired AF show on the air.

  3. These two remind me of an ex and his now wife. They always needed someone to fight against for their love. It was so weird, like they constantly needed to prove they were a united front to each other and had a connection no one could understand!

    1. Interesting, a “connection “ no one could understand is usually symbolic of codependency or trauma bond.
