Farrah Fail: ‘Teen Mom’ Star Farrah Abraham Announces She’s Running for Mayor of Austin; Is Shocked to Find Out There’s No Election This Year

You’ll never convince The Ashley that this isn’t actually Michael Abraham in a wig and pink blazer…

Farrah Abraham is embarking on yet another random as hell side quest, with the former Teen Mom star announcing this week that she’s planning to run for Mayor of Austin, Texas.

(No, we’re not joking.)

On Thursday, the self-proclaimed Top Female Celebrity in Our Nation shared on social media that she’s officially launched her campaign and candidate website. She also shared her 2026 plan, which is built on six pillars that she believes will “Keep Austin Weird” and “Keep Austin Fair.”

The only problem: she didn’t bother to check when the race for mayor actually begins. The Backdoor Teen Mom learned that she is two years too early while Live with TMZ Thursday… and she was not happy about it!

“If only there were some sort of Internet searching device you could use to look up important dates and stuff! Oh…wait.”

“We kinda burst her bubble with some quick fact-checking, and her reaction is priceless,” TMZ reported, noting that the next election for Austin’s mayor isn’t until 2028 and that there is no race for the position in 2026, as Farrah has declared on social media and on her website.

Farrah— who acknowledged that she put her name in “super early” for the position— seemed genuinely shocked when she was told that there is no election this year. In fact, she tried to deny that TMZ‘s Harvey Levin was correct when he informed her that the race isn’t until 2028.

“I’m running local right now, so local is a little different than federal!” Farrah insisted. “I did say that my hope, after running local, is for district which is in 2028. I do have hopes of running for district, but for right now, I’m going to stay in a non-partisan category which is mayor.”

Farrah cosplaying as a ‘mayor’…or something?

Harvey ingested all of Farrah’s political “Farrah Speak” word salad, but continued to inform the Backdoor Teen Mom that she still has the timing wrong. Farrah then revealed where she most likely got the idea to run from— from Spencer Pratt of The Hills who just launched his bid for Mayor of Los Angeles.

“That election actually is this year,” Harvey said.

Farrah didn’t seem to understand that each city holds its elections for mayor on its own timeframe, and that it isn’t like the presidential elections, which occurs every four years no matter what.

“I don’t believe mayors are on a different year [schedule],” Farrah said, insisting “her city” told her the election is in 2026.

They honestly deserve Emmys for holding in their laughter here…

“No one has notified me that it’s in 2028,” she stated.

When the guys from TMZ informed her that Austin’s current mayor was elected in 2024 (meaning he would be mayor until 2028), Farrah insisted that she “heard they were two-year terms.”

“Guys, be careful. If you disagree with her too much she’ll throw bags of frozen peas at your head!”

The folks at TMZ then called the city hall in Austin, who informed they while live on the air that the elections for mayor aren’t until 2028. Farrah was none-too-thrilled to find out she was wrong, stating that if she is indeed wrong they should “do the interview at another time.”

When pressed on what she’s actually done to enter the race for mayor— other than posting about it on Instagram— Farrah stated that she’s on “their public webpage” (um?) and can receive “charities, donations” for the race.

After Harvey tells her the election is officially not until 2028, Farrah seems to accept that she’s wrong…but then insists it’s fine.

“I love that I jumped the gun!” she stated. “… If someone misinterpreted that [date] and told me that, that’s OK too!”

The “someone”….

Farrah did not seem happy that the TMZ crew was laughing at her mistake while on the Live. Still, she insisted that reality TV stars like her and Spencer running for mayor is a good thing.

“I’m excited for more stars to step up and run for office, whether that’s locally of federally, I’m super-excited for more people to do that,” she said.

As for her “platform,” Farrah is promising to focus on “Family Planning for All,” a “Modern Workers Act,” and a “Veteran Bridge Program.” Farrah claims her six-pillar plan is built on putting “safety and policy first,” as well as senior housing and something she is calling “Abraham’s Survivor-First Pilot.” On her candidate website, Farrah describes this pilot program as something that will “make society safer” for victims of assault.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Farrah addressed Austin citizens directly while touting her (alleged) ability to transform the Texas capital city if elected Mayor. (She also took an opportunity to reiterate what appears to be her official campaign slogan.)

“Austin, my story isn’t just a headline; it’s the blueprint for Austin’s 2026 transformation,” she wrote. “Let’s Keep Austin Weird, Keep Austin Fair, Vote Farrah Abraham for Austin Mayor 2026!”

Farrah goes on to claim on her candidate website that, “as Mayor candidate 2026,” she believes “in a brighter future for our Amazing Texas community.” She also notes that her vision is to “engage citizens and promote transparency in local government.”

“Keep it transparent, PER LAW!”

Naturally, her site also goes heavy on the Farrah Speak we all know and love continue to be confused by.

“AUSTIN TEXAS NOW HAS A CHANCE TO BE A LEADER IN CHANGE THAT BENEFITS ALL HISTORICALLY UPDATING OUT OF DATE LAWS THAT DO NOT REFLECT OUR SAFETY FIRST, HUMAN BIOLOGY AND BASIC ECONOMICS TO FLOURISH,” she shouts states on the website.

Farrah is encouraging constituents that visit her website to contact her directly to “discuss our solutions for a smarter future,” while noting that her goals for Austin are “here and in reach now.”

She also took the liberty and justice for all this week of revamping her social media bio to reflect that she is now an official “Political Candidate.”

Farrah’s IG bio may have been tweaked even more than Farrah herself at this point…

You really can’t make this stuff up…

  1. Ignoring all her nonsense, it’s nice to see her face resembling a human person again. Yes she still has filler, but considering how she previously looked this is a massive improvement.

  2. It’s not clear based on her posts if she’s running for Mayor or District Council. She probably doesn’t know either.

  3. Delusions of grandeur. The people of Austin probably wish she’d go back to Iowa and stop being a terror to Texas.

  4. as a texan, i wouldn’t be too concerned about this 😂 as red as this state is the right definitely has better candidates to vote for besides this lunatic
