After years of watching– and frequently helping– her mother, sisters and sisters-in-law care for their babies, Jana Duggar has officially joined the motherhood club.
The former Counting On star announced on Friday that she and husband Stephen Wissmann welcomed their first child, a baby boy, at the end of December.
“We took some time to settle into our new rhythm before sharing this sweet news,” Jana wrote on Instagram. “Archie Gerald Wissmann arrived on December 30, 2025, and our hearts have been completely changed. We’re soaking in these early days, full of love, wonder and so much gratitude.”
Gerald is the name of Stephen’s maternal grandfather, who died in 2018.
As The Ashley previously told you, 36-year-old Jana– the eldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar– married Stephen in August 2024 at a ceremony held in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, that was attended by 500 guests.
Shortly before tying the knot, Jana confirmed that the rumors that had circulated a few years earlier– which stated that she had been dating Stephen– were, indeed, true; however, the couple reportedly dated and then broke up for a period of time before eventually reuniting for good.
Jana also revealed in 2024 that she would be leaving the Duggar Compound in Arkansas and moving to Nebraska (where Stephen’s family lives) after her wedding, as she and her husband-to-be had purchased a fixer-upper to live in.
“It’s great,” she told People. “We’ve been working, he has a little house we bought that we’ve been fixing up and getting pulled together, and so that’s been fun.”
In August of 2025, Jana announced that she was pregnant with her first child, just days after she and Stephen celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary.
“We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family!” Jana captioned a series of photos of herself and Stephen cradling her baby bump. “We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter of our lives!”
In November, Jana and her twin brother, John-David Duggar, hosted a joint gender reveal party with their spouses, where Jana and Stephen learned that they were expecting a baby boy. (John-David and wife Abbie, who are already parents to a son and daughter, are expecting another baby girl.)
The birth of Jana and Stephen’s child makes grandchild Number 40 for Jim Bob and Michelle, who will soon become grandparents of 41 after the birth of John-David and Abbie’s third child.
