A couple who will be featured on the upcoming new season of Unexpected has been left with nothing following a devastating house fire on Sunday.
Mia Quebedeaux— who will appear on Season 7 alongside her boyfriend Jesse— lives at her father Keith‘s Louisiana home, along with Jesse and their eight-month-old daughter Oakleigh. According to several local news outlets, Mia and her family were actually inside the home when the fire began, and only became aware of the fire when a woman began banging on the door.
“I start going down there and I see the bottom of the stairs are on fire,” Mia told Unfiltered with Kiran. “My dad opens our laundry room door that leads to a second pair of stairs on the side of our house, and flames were already all the way up there. So black smoke just came all in our house.”
Mia credited the woman with saving their lives, as all of the home’s occupants got out with just minutes to spare and were uninjured.
“It wasn’t even a neighbor. She was just driving right by the stop sign and she saw it,” Mia added. “Thank God she came and said something. Or it could have been a completely different story.”
The site reports that Mia’s home was a “total loss” and that she and her family members had no time to grab any items from the house.
“I lost my phone, my dad lost his phone. I lost my keys. My dad lost wallet, everything. We all just ran out the house. My dog got out, me and the baby, everybody got out the house safely,” she said.
According to a GoFundMe page set up for the family, Mia’s dad Keith is the sole provider for the family, and Mia and Jesse— who are both 16— were saving to move out. (Mia does have a job, as her boss shared the GoFundMe and more info on the situation to Facebook.)
“Mia’s father Keith works every day to provide for his family,” the fundraiser’s description reads. “Keith is the sole provider for his kids. He lost everything in the house fire along with his truck. Doesn’t have a way to work to provide for his family. All the vehicles are gone.”
Friends of Mia’s family are also collecting clothing and baby items for them.
As The Ashley previously reported, Mia and Jesse— as well as Mia’s dad Keith— appeared in the trailer for Season 7. They explained that their parents do not like their relationship.
“When I first met Jessie, I kind of didn’t like him,” Mia’s dad Keith says the trailer. “And then this [pregnancy] happened. I definitely don’t like the kid now.”
Later in the trailer, Mia’s mom Nicole (who does not live with her at Keith’s home) and Jessie’s mom AK are shown getting into an argument about taking Mia to an upcoming medical appointment, during which AK slams Nicole for being an absentee mom to Mia.
Mia and Jesse— and the rest of the ‘Unexpected’ Season 7 cast— has received very little attention, as most of the focus since the trailer dropped has been on cast member Bella Vaughn— a girl who got impregnated at the age of 14 by her 12-year-old boyfriend.

Absolutely heartbreaking to hear. Their goal is only $6.5k and they have to start completely from scratch. I’m glad they all got out safely. That’s a hell of a rough start to life for their baby. I really do hope they’re able to get back on their feet.

Change your batteries twice a year. No excuses exist for this if you have children in your home. Check with your local fire department if you can’t afford them or you need help installing.
