Justice was served for Kiaya Elliott this week, with the Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant star successfully having Carla Gambrell— the mother of her baby daddy X’Zayveon— convicted of assaulting her while Kiaya was pregnant.

Kiaya— who recently gave birth to her second child with X-Zayveon— recently posted a video to TikTok that gave more details about Carla’s assault on her in October. She had previously mentioned that Carla had attacked her while she was in her third trimester of her pregnancy, and, according to court records obtained by The Ashley, Carla was, indeed, found guilty of assault on Tuesday.

According to court records, Carla committed the assault on Kiaya on October 24. It was classified as a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Carla— who appeared on ‘Young and Pregnant’ several times— was sentenced to 90 days in jail. However, all 90 of those days were suspended, meaning she doesn’t actually have to spend any time behind bars. She was also sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation.

In her video posted to TikTok, Kiaya explained how Carla attacked her in a Chili’s parking lot while she was about eight months pregnant.

Since Kiaya’s video is basically a three-minute-long run-on sentence, The Ashley has decided to break down the “Meemaw Melee at Chili’s” incident in her own special way.

Kiaya claims that she arrived at the Chili’s parking lot on that fateful night to speak to her boyfriend X’Zayveon, who was seated in his brother’s car. Kiaya claimed that, as she approached the brother’s car, Carla came bursting out of the Chili’s like the Kool-Aid man. According to Kiaya, Carla was “very, very aggressive” and “very belligerent” and immediately started pushing her and chest-bumping her.

Kiaya quickly reminded Carla that she was pregnant and almost ready to shoot The Spawn of X’Zayveon Part 2 from her loins. Kiaya told Carla that she didn’t want any problems, and that she simply wanted to talk to her boyfriend/baby daddy/whatever they are this week. 

Kiaya claimed that Carla didn’t heed her warnings and continued to push and put her hands on Kiaya. According to Kiaya, she and X’Zayveon were trying to chat while his brother did his best to keep Carla away from attacking Kiaya.

I think that’s nice when brothers help each other….

The brother thought that he had successfully convinced Carla to walk away and refrain from beating up the mother of her grandson. But, alas, Carla was not finished in her quest to give Kiaya some baby back baby back baby back (broken) ribs.

Kiaya claimed Carla waited until she was walking away and then once again pounced. Kiaya stated that Carla grabbed her hair and dragged her down to the ground, where she then kicked her pregnant stomach. According to Kiaya, Carla told her that she didn’t care that Kiaya was pregnant and that she was “going to kill” her and the baby. 

X’Zayveon— who, as fans may remember was less-than-helpful in the delivery room when Kiaya gave birth earlier this month— was doing his best to peel his mama off his baby mama. Eventually, he was able to get his mom to unhand Kiaya’s hair and Kiaya was able to get into her car and drive away. 

Kiaya claimed that, although she was driving away, she hadn’t entirely lost “Catch These Hands” Carla. Kiaya stated that Carla then got into her car and tried to follow Kiaya and run her off the road. Kiaya said she called the police, who met her in the Chili’s parking lot to see if this wild story could actually be true. The cops allegedly told Kiaya that they couldn’t arrest Carla, since they hadn’t seen her do the parking lot ass-whoop; however, they did encourage Kiaya to press charges.

Kiaya said she did, indeed, press charges against Carla. The cops charged Carla with assault and battery, and gave Kiaya a protective order that barred Carla from coming near Kiaya (and any other chain restaurant parking lot she may be in). 

Kiaya stated that she then went to the hospital, as she had begun to feel contractions from all the stress and battery and whatnot. Things with the baby were OK, and Kiaya received a court date in the mail soon afterward. Carla asked for a continuance in the case so that she could get her son’s “lying ass baby mama” (whom Kiaya has publicly argued with in the past) to testify on her behalf for some reason. (It does not appear that said “lying ass baby mama” was present for the parking lot smackdown, though.) Shockingly, the “lying ass baby mama” of X’zayveon’s never came, so the case was continued twice.

Kiaya claims that Carla ended up getting found guilty “for everything that she did.” Kiaya confirmed that Carla won’t actually have to spend any time in the clink, but said she has come to terms with that, stating she is “gonna leave it up to God on whatever punishment that she gets.”

Kiaya did state, however, that Carla will never be allowed her children. (In addition to the new baby, Kiaya and X’zayveon also share son Amour.) 

“Now she will never, ever be a part of your kids’ lives and your kids will literally know her as being dead,” Kiaya said.

Tale as old as time…

As ‘Young & Pregnant’ fans know, Kiaya and Carla have a long history of not getting along. They nearly came to blows during a meet-up on Season 2 of the show. (While trying to resolve their issues, Kiaya and her mother Tiffany attempted to have a conversation with Carla, but ended up having to be separated by show security guards after they began to physically fight.)

Anyway, in the video’s comment section, fans were blasting X’zayveon for not being involved enough in the situation. Kiaya defended her man, insisting that he spoke out against his own mama.

“Where are y’all getting the narrative that he didn’t do s**t?” Kiaya responded. “This man even testified in court.”

Interestingly, this is not even close to the first time Carla has caught charges for assault and/or battery. According to Virginia court records, Grandmommy Dearest has been arrested and received that charge six times stemming since 2001!

Three of those cases were dismissed, by Carla was found guilty of two of the assault and battery charges, in addition to Kiaya’s case. (One of the cases she was found guilty of was a 2007 case where she was charged with “Assault on a Family Member.”)
