“90 Day Fiancé” Stars Angela Deem & Michael Ilesanmi Are Officially Divorced; Details on Divorce Settlement

That’s a wrap on this happy couple…

It’s finally over for former 90 Day Fiancé couple Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi.

On Tuesday, Michael posted a video to Instagram holding his divorce papers after leaving court.

“Finally official– divorced,” Michael captioned the post. “Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. I appreciate you all. New chapter begins.”

In the video, Michael seemingly teases a return to the “90 Day Fiancé” franchise, proclaiming, “Single life, here I come!” However, Angela previously claimed that she would not allow her now ex-husband to appear on any future seasons of the TLC franchise. She also claimed that (thankfully) does not plan to return to film any spin-offs herself.

According to Shabooty Dot Com, Angela and Michael’s divorce settlement notes that the exes– who wed in January 2020 and legally separated in 2024– did not own any real estate together and will each keep the car(s) that are titled in their own name. While Angela and Michael will each be responsible for their own debts, the settlement states that Angela will keep all of her retirement accounts and there will be no alimony paid by either party. The former spouses are also barred from making false public statements about each other.

Angela, knowing without a doubt that she’ll be the first to break that last rule…

This divorce has been a long time coming for the self-proclaimed Queen of TLC and Michael. The couple first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Seasons 2 and 3, before going on to navigate their long-distance relationship on Season 7 of “90 Day Fiancé.” Michael and Angela tied the knot on Season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? and made three more appearances across the franchise before finally calling it quits during Season 8 of ‘Happily Ever After,’ which followed Nigerian-born Michael’s move to America in late 2023.

The Ashley has followed Angela and Michael’s messy marital split since August 2024; as “90 Day Fiancé” fans may remember, following the ‘Happily Ever After’ Season 8 Tell-All that year– which received immediate backlash from viewers due to the way Angela was allowed to treat Michael on-set– Angela filed for annulment, claiming Michael “fraudulently induced [her] into a marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States.” This came after Michael disappeared from her home in Georgia and was reported as a missing person; he was later found safe, at which point he told law enforcement that he ran away out of fear of Angela.

Ya don’t say…

In the aftermath of Angela’s filing, Michael raised more than $43,000 on GoFundMe to hire a divorce lawyer and, in court documents, requested not only a divorce in lieu of an annulment, but also spousal support and for Angela to cover his legal fees. He also alleged that his estranged wife was “guilty of cruel treatment against him” and that she “committed both physical and mental abuse” throughout the course of their marriage– some of which “was documented while the parties were present and filming reality television shows.”

In April, the “Seksi Meemaw” alleged in court documents that TLC “scripted” some moments between her and Michael, including the physical consummation of their marriage and another unspecified scene that Michael was “acutely aware” had been scripted. The documents argued that Angela had “zero control with regard to the actions of a multinational television network.” Angela also claimed that she made no revenue off of her last “two or three years” of being featured on the program. She also maintained that an annulment would be more fitting than a divorce because Michael had allegedly scammed her in order to gain legal permanent residency. (Michael’s attorney later argued that Angela herself admitted that the marriage was valid in the state of Georgia, barring the pair from annulment.)

The Ashley has extensively reported on the facts revealed in divorce court about Angela and Michael’s briefly happy union, including the $200,000 in wire transfers Angela sent Michael over a five and a half year period. Angela also admitted previously to destroying one of Michael’s cellphones, attempting to destroy his vehicle and bringing a taser with her to California, which she allegedly used on Michael. There were also allegations that after moving to Georgia, Michael fathered a child with another woman, though this was never confirmed.

Angela has yet to officially comment on her divorce being finalized; however, on Tuesday, she reposted a screenshot (more than once) to her Instagram Story of an article with a headline declaring her the winner of her and Michael’s divorce.
