Falen Vaughn, the star in her own mind mom of Unexpected Season 7 star Bella Vaughn, is calling out the stepmom of her daughter’s baby daddy, Hunter Johnson, for discussing the details of 14-year-old Hunter’s custody situation on social media.
As fans of ‘Unexpected’ saw earlier this season, it was portrayed on the TLC series that Hunter’s dad, Casey Johnson, basically abandoned him after Hunter, who was only 12 years old at the time, impregnated Bella. However, as The Ashley exclusively reported earlier this month, court documents revealed that Casey actually began fighting for custody of Hunter in April 2025 in an attempt to get the teen away from what he called the “unstable and unwholesome environment” created by Hunter’s mom, Stacie Riddle.
Casey received temporary joint custody of Hunter in November, at which time he also had the court put in place restrictions so that Hunter would no longer be allowed to “live with” Bella and her family, or sleep over at their house.
While fielding viewer questions this week on TikTok Live, Falen was asked about Hunter’s custody situation; however, the ‘Unexpected’ grandma insisted that she wouldn’t be discussing “their court stuff” publicly– unlike some people.
“I know that certain people are discussing that, but that’s on them and they shouldn’t be discussing it either … I will not discuss their court situation,” Falen stated. “Trust me guys, if you wanna know, all you gotta do is go ask the stepmom, ’cause she’ll tell you.”
Falen’s dig comes just a week after Hunter’s stepmom, Brettney Johnson, commented on a post about Hunter on the TLC Unexpected: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly’s Facebook page, confirming to fans that they had been to court since Hunter filmed for the reality show and that the teen “has come a long way.”
“They were alienating him from his father and trying to manipulate [Casey] into being on the show by holding his son over his head,” she added, noting that Hunter lived with her and Casey “for years” until Hunter impregnated Bella (in Summer 2024). She also claimed that she and Hunter’s mom had a great relationship until that point.
In her comment, Brettney went on to allege that both Stacie and Falen “bullied the hell out of [her]” throughout Bella’s entire pregnancy by posting things on social media about her and inviting Casey to events that she was not “allowed” to attend.
This week on Live, Falen was asked about the rumors of her alleged “bullying,” though she insisted that she didn’t know what the rumors were referring to.
“I don’t know how anybody says I bullied anybody, I don’t talk to anyone,” Falen said, before another fan clarified that the allegation had been made by Hunter’s stepmom.
“What?” Falen asked. “Guys, I don’t know what we’re talking about. I don’t talk to them.”
While Falen vowed earlier in the Live not to discuss the details of Hunter’s custody situation on social media, she later hinted at the current dynamic, while appearing to throw more shade at Hunter’s dad and stepmom.
“ … Hunter doesn’t get to see his son and Bella very much when he’s at his dad’s house,” she claimed.

Setting the record straight when you and your husband are demonized on national television for not wanting to participate? Unacceptable!
Broadcasting your young teens pregnancy and sex life all over said television to make a few bucks and have fifteen minutes of fame? Fine parenting.
The “parents” on this season are all horrible. Not a mystery why these children,and they are children,are now in the situations they’re in. Sad and too depressing to continue watching.
