New video released on Monday shows Kendra Duggar being booked into Washington County Jail last week.
Kendra— who is the wife of former Counting On star (and current jailbird) Joseph Duggar— appears mortified (and terrified) as she is brought into the jail’s intake room, searched and photographed.
As The Ashley previously reported, both Kendra and Joe each received four charges on Friday of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, as well as four counts of second-degree false imprisonment. Kendra turned herself into the Washington County Jail in Arkansas on Friday. (Joe was already in jail, due to his being charged earlier this week for child molestation for an alleged incident that occurred in Florida with a nine-year-old girl in 2020.)
In the video, Kendra is seen wearing jeans(!) as she is led into the intake room. (While many of the adult Duggar women now wear pants— as do many of the daughters-in-law— Kendra has never been photographed wearing pants.)
In the first clip released, Kendra is handcuffed and seated while talking to an officer.
In the next clip— obtained by Page Six, an uncuffed Kendra is taken to the other side of the room by a female officer, who makes her stand facing a wall while she is patted down. Kendra is then turned around and the officers takes photos of her hands. Kendra is then made to pull her gums down so they officer can examine her mouth, and then she takes off her shoes so the officer can see the bottoms of her feet.
The officer then asks, “Are we done with her?” and Kendra is led away.
Kendra was less chatty than her husband Joe was when he was booked into the same jail last week. In his jail intake video, Joe mentions that he’s been to the jail before but never as an inmate. He then mentions his brother (whom we can assume is Josh Duggar, who spent some time at the jail before he was convicted of receiving child sex abuse materials and sent to prison, where he remains.)
As The Ashley told you, Kendra was only in the jail for about an hour before she bonded out. It is unknown who posted her $1470 bond. However, a woman who looked a lot like Michelle Duggar was seen driving a car with Kendra inside after she left the jail.
As of press time, Joe remains in jail with no bond due to his charges in Florida. (Last week, Joe was arrested on charges of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior– Molestation of a Victim Less Than 12 Years Old, as well as Lewd and Lascivious Behavior Conducted By a Person 18 Years or Older.)
He will soon be extradited to Florida, where the alleged molestation took place.
Kendra and Joe are both due back in court in Arkansas to answer to their false imprisonment/child endangerment charges on April 29. Kendra was scheduled to appear at a court hearing in Elm Springs, Arkansas, today; however, local news source 5News has been unable to confirm if that hearing took place.
While investigators have not released many details regarding what caused the couple— who share four kids— to be arrested, a Duggar family spokesperson has confirmed that the Arkansas charges have nothing to do with Joe’s child molestation charges from Florida, and that Kendra was not involved in the alleged Florida situation.
According to Us Weekly, Kendra and Joe’s home in Arkansas was searched after his arrest for child molestation, leading Arkansas investigators to find something disturbing inside the house that led to Kendra’s arrest and Joe’s additional charges.
“After his charge, they automatically do a home study if minors live there. They came to her house,” the magazine’s source stated. “Apparently, they had two rooms where the lock of the doorknob was on the outside instead of inside.
“They arrested her and took her kids for that, saying it’s evidence that she wrongly detains her kids,” the source added.

As of press time, Kendra’s parents, Paul and Christina Caldwell, have yet to make a statement regarding the couple’s arrests. Joe’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have also remained silent.

All the social media pics of their family, the happy well dressed family, everyone with a big smile, with a Bible verse as the caption. Those are the ones that should be a red flag for society. They always seem to be the ones with the most skeletons and most predatory. Just my opinion.
Maybe people should go to parenting classes before they give birth. They have you sign up for Lamaze class at some point during pregnancy, there should be parenting classes as well. Most people default to what they know.
Wow, I know several parents who do this. Maybe it’s something their own parents used to do, that they didn’t realize is not allowed anymore? Just like spanking is outlawed in many states now, but most of us had parents who spanked us when we were kids.
Some people I know do this to prevent their kid from getting out and getting into stuff during nap time, or getting out of the house and wandering off.
I’m shocked that Jim Bob and Michelle themselves were never arrested for their various crimes of neglect and physical abuse (not to mention failing to report Josh’s sex crimes and continuing to allow him to live in their home with minor children). They certainly deserved to be.
I’m glad I don’t know anyone who does this because I’d call them out. Imagine if a fire broke out. How are you getting to those babies in time? There are various forms of child proofing that don’t involve entrapping your own children. Seems more like a fundie power dynamic to me.
This happened to my cousin and she didn’t get there on time. 2 of her children died and she was charged with involuntary manslaughter
This family lived such a sheltered, holier than thou upbringing and 2 of the “men” have been charged with some pretty awful things and they’re not looking after their kids properly. Doesn’t seem very Christian to me
There was definitely something more than just Josh going on in the Duggar house. I’m just speculating, but I bet Josh did something to Joe and someone originally did something to Josh. Not to mention, probably the other brothers or victim of Josh as well.
